Got the standard aeon v5 yesterday and can confirm you can cut yourself on the claws. Before you cut the claws try removing them first. I inverted mine and its a relatively quick and easy process. They aren't held in with screws more like pins that just stay in with pressure. Start at the bottom of the claws and gently pry them up. Once the lower most pins are out of the emitter you can just pull straight out the upper pins will let go. I recommend putting something between the actual hilt and whatever you used to pry them up (I recommend pliers). It looks even better with the claws having the sharp parts on top.
I have seen on the Ultrasaber's forums that users who have this very light saber have reversed the claws so that are not digging into you hand. This also gives the saber a more sinister or old republic look to it, just do a search on the forums.
Did you get the default pommel which is basically a hole? Ive been trying to get my battery pack out of there but its not budging and is really jammed up there if you have any tips to get battery packs out.
When I got my initiate I didn’t have that problem with the LEDs rattling. Also I ordered an Apprentice LE v5 and instead they sent me the initiate. Can’t say I’m unhappy though. Also I got a better deal out of it because I ordered a cheaper saber
Since the claws are held on with screws, why not try turning them around the other way or removing them by unscrewing them rather than cutting them? AV Switch isn't exclusive to UltraSabers. That's just what that kind of switch is called, it stands for Anti-Vandal switch. Not sure why it's called that, but there you go.
Thanks for the comment. I don't want to just remove the claws altogether, they look so good! I knew about the anti-vandal switch, not sure why I said that at the time of the recording. I think it's called anti-vandal because it's a durable latching switch that can withstand some abuse, or, "vandalism." Pretty sure I read that on a forum post somewhere....
@@y-man8322 It certainly is smoother! But the claws have cutouts so they match the contour of the emitter. If it was turned around, it wouldn't line up with the "grenade" style grip.
*YOU LOOK LIKE CAL FROM FALLEN ORDER* Also I'm not sure why people try to sword fight with reverse grip. I mean, sure it looks neat and all, but in actual combat, it's useless. You can't make a full extention strike because your wrist won't allow you to, you can't block because you have little to no leverage, and you can't swing as powerfully as you would. Not only that, but you also risk the chance of hitting your own sword-forearm with your blade. Don't get me wrong, people can do what they want, but I'm just offering tips here. Reverse grip is a habit I wish I'd see less of.
Michael McNeil I mean yea it still works perfectly just my only problem is the sound board is in the way so the batteries get knocked out easily, so if you wanna duel a lot get a stunt and if you want a display piece and occasional dueling get a sound one
