Regan's reading vlogs are my stress busters. As a theoretical physics master's student I go through a lot throughout the week but this video just puts everything at else and in a way help me to mentally prepare for the week to come. Thanks to you regan
Yep. Was thinking about this movie when Reagan was talking about it. Also check out the mini series Lost in Austen too. Quite an interesting take on pride and prejudice that’s for sure!! lol 😂
I love your reading vlogs, they’re probably my favourite booktube videos! They have this chill hangout feel to them and I always look forward to watching 🥰
Nicole Silvernell tell me about it. She exhausts me each outfit change!! 😂😜 definitely a pj all day kinda girl on the weekends when I can get away with it! 😜
This was so relaxing to watch! 😊 Just as a fyi, Chain of Gold is set in Edwardian times, in 1903. There was one short story in Ghosts from the Shadow Market called Cast Long Shadows that was set in 1901, actually partially on the day Queen Victoria died.
So glad you enjoyed the broken kingdom!! Also when you finish an extremely important short story was left our of your edition that was in the paperback of the third and its only 11 pages and ESSENTIAL.
Yay! So happy to see this pop up :) I completely understand the anxiety, thank you for being honest about it, it's helpful to see others who struggle with the same mental health stuff as me. Also, I'm excited to check out some skillshare classes! ALSO that green jumpsuit is lovely!!
I know everyone has recommended Austenland the movie, but it was originally a book! and it's such a cute little book! I think you'd love it - it's excellent! then watch the film ;)
Whenever you said you were going to the movies to see emma for some reason i thought you meant emma from emmmabooks😂 I didn't understand until you said it was a jane austen movie😂
The Jane Austen hotel idea😍 I’m watching this a year later but I’m actually planning to start Chain of Gold this weekend and couldn’t be more excited 💛 Scandinavian swimmers😂
I think Emma is my favorite Jane Austen book/adaptation (haven’t seen the newest, but OBSESSED with all the others). Mr. Knightley is highly underrated.
Your lock screen of Millie is so cute! And honestly, you and Clay are adorable! Your outdoor scenes are so fun (though I also love your apartment 👌). I’d love to know who you watch on YT. ☺️
My mum, sister and I go to Bath once a year, in England. The Jane Austen city! They have a Jane Austen museum in the house she used to live. You can find info on TH-cam of their Jane Austen festival as well
I can also recommend Jane Austen's House in Chawton in Hampshire, it's where she lived when she was writing and publishing her novels and it's open as a museum. There's also Chawton House which belonged to her brother and which has a library she would have used.
I was JUST about to pick up and read my book (chain of gold currently) but then I got notified that you uploaded and instantly clicked on this video! Love your videos and I feel we have very similar taste in books!
I was watching some of your old videos, classic haul- i would love to see you talk more and hear your opinions on some of these books that make up the canon. love you videos, they make me so happy!!
There's actually an annual Jane Austen festival that takes place in Kentucky. Everyone dresses in period clothes, they have games and food from that time as well. I think it's a weekend-long festival.
watching you gush over another Cassandra clear's book makes me want to pick up where I left off. I have read the mortal instrument series and loved it. I have to pick up clockwork princess soon and read all the series, old and the new ones.
Austenland! Austenland! Hilarious movie! You need to watch it! Then create a better version because I will throw my money at you as I run into the mansion 😂 Also when Clay took the camera and said “Look at Regan” I mean goals! 🎉👏🏻
If you want to go to a Jane Austen hotel you need to read and see the movie Austenland. The book and movie are slightly different and you totally need to experience both! JJ Field 😍
Oh when she said she was going to see emma all I thought was she's seeing a movie with emma from emmabooks then I had to look up Jane Austin movie 2020 to know emma was the name of the movie lol
_Regan: Tessa and Will are here-_ _Me: * drops phone, gasps, freaks out for ten minutes because I haven't read Clockwork Princess yet and didn't know who was gonna make it *_
Just a heads up Crescent City is definitely angsty but it’s also really heavy, it deals with murder, suicide, assault, etc!! It’s also very heavy on world building and information too! It’s angsty but definitely not fluffy! I hope you like it. I think it was one of Sarah’s best, in terms of story and rep and such, there’s obviously certain things that have just become touchstones of sarah’s books you can’t escape but it’s so amazing and fresh and definitely her strongest start to a series.
RandomRighteousness ahhhh I hope you enjoy it. It was really good and there’s so much potential for this series and its such a general improvement to a lot of the things in her other books that she directly calls out. I loved it! I hope uou do too!
If you want to read another thrilling memoir I highly recommend Ghost in the Wires!! I haven’t heard the audiobook version but I really enjoyed the book!
Watch 'Lost in Austen'! It's about a girl who prefers the world of Austen to the real world. Then she ends up swapping places with Elizabeth Bennet. It's quite fun😊
I do want to read chain of gold but I have to catch up on the series I have to finshed qoaad and I have to read the Red scrolls of magic and the shadowmarket short stories I'm almost done again but better I read some of it last night
You want to dress up and live life for a few days as a Jane Austin character? That's called a LARP (Live Action Role Play). :P I'm sure there's something nearby.
Do we have to read every book from Cassandra Clare for Chain of Gold? Ive only read The Infernal Devices and The Mortal Instruments since I am not interested in The Dark Artifices or The Bane Chronicles or Tales from the Shadowhunter Academy.
In my opinion (as someone who has read Chain of Gold without TDA), you don't have to read TDA or the entirety of Tales or The Bane Chronicles. You mostly just want to have TID finished, but reading some of the novellas from the bind ups could add to the experience
Technically, no. But I think you should at least read The Infernal Devices because it spoils the end of that series and also, a lot of people say it’s hard to keep track of all the characters and I believe it would be easier if you already know all the characters and pairings from The Infernal Devices.
Grace Jung technically no, but it’s basically a continuation of The Infernal Devices(TID). Main characters in Chain of Gold are kids from characters in that trilogy. So if you’re not interested in their backstory, or don’t care about being spoiled for other series, go ahead, but everyone will recommend you to at least read TID.
That’s how you know that you’re a true Jane Austen fan, when you just want to live in their world. Watch the Pride and Prejudice BBC version with Colin Firth!
Regan's reading vlogs are my stress busters. As a theoretical physics master's student I go through a lot throughout the week but this video just puts everything at else and in a way help me to mentally prepare for the week to come. Thanks to you regan
Dude i have always hated physics, you are like my hero! Cause that thing requires so much. Good luck on the masters!! You can do itttttttt
@@Susan-qn9rf thank you 🤣👍👍
There is actually a movie called Austenland based on the exact same immersive concept that you were talking about! Lol def worth it to watch it once!
Hannah Jo Smithheart it’s based on a great book by Shannon Hale!
thisisnancybot no way!! I didn’t realize that! I’m definitely gonna have to read that book because I enjoyed the movie!
I was going to comment this lol, I love that movie
I was just scrolling down into the comments to say the same thing!!
Yep. Was thinking about this movie when Reagan was talking about it. Also check out the mini series Lost in Austen too. Quite an interesting take on pride and prejudice that’s for sure!! lol 😂
Anyone else watching this on March 20th and sighing as they remember the luxury of being able to go outside? LOL
Watching on April 29th and feeling the pain of the stay at home order where I live. Going on now what 4-5 weeks of shelter in place?
Watching in November 2020 😪
April 2021, still in lockdown 😥
I love your reading vlogs, they’re probably my favourite booktube videos! They have this chill hangout feel to them and I always look forward to watching 🥰
Your outfit when you were at the cafe is adorable!
Your vlogs and optimistic outlook just brighten my day. Thank you.
OMG make Clay watch P&P!!! Also, if you want period pieces you NEED to watch Anne with an E on Netflix! It's sooooo gooodddddd
-YES YES YES!! Anne with an e is amazing 😍
Iv been checking out that show too there a lgbtq+ chacter that is why I wanna see it
Yes. I never shut up about it to my friends lol
Yup I think the 2005 (Keira knightley) version of P+P is very beginner friendly.
Im gonna start to watch awae, again
I constantly live in pjs. I’m so confused/impressed by the amount of times you change in one day! #pjsforlife
Nicole Silvernell tell me about it. She exhausts me each outfit change!! 😂😜 definitely a pj all day kinda girl on the weekends when I can get away with it! 😜

Nope, waiting for all 3 books to be out x)

I just bought it 🤷🏾♀️
RandomRighteousness ahhhh I hope you enjoy it. It was really good and there’s so much potential for this series and its such a general improvement to a lot of the things in her other books that she directly calls out. I loved it! I hope uou do too!
If you want to explore the immersive Jane Austen experience a little more, I recommend the movie Austenland. It’s about exactly that!
I would totally sign up for the Jane Austen experience lol
Have you seen the movie Austenland? It’s about a Jane Austen themed hotel/experience.
MY QUEEN!!!
Oh, you need to watch Austenland. It's exactly what you described, it's a hoot!

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
You are basically describing the plot of Austenland.
I’m pretty sure there are at least events over weekends that are an immersive Austen experience.
I do want to read chain of gold but I have to catch up on the series I have to finshed qoaad and I have to read the Red scrolls of magic and the shadowmarket short stories I'm almost done again but better I read some of it last night
I’ll come to your Austen hotel! I love Austen soooo much
I thought the Chain of Gold ship was gonna go the rogue direction too! Even tho I'm down for a triangle, it feels like a missed opportunity, tbh 😂
I googled "Jane Austen immersion vacation" and apparently you can go do one in Vermont!
I'd be down for a Jane Austin themed destination.
Man I still got to read TDA 😅
Jay G same I’m on TID, haven’t even finished TMI
Ah, I LOVED Chain of Gold!!!
I watched Emma this week too and LOVED IT!! It was so funny 😆 loved the vlog as always ❤️
If you haven’t seen the movie Austenland you need to watch it bc Jane Austen hotel is basically the plot 😂
You want to dress up and live life for a few days as a Jane Austin character? That's called a LARP (Live Action Role Play). :P I'm sure there's something nearby.
Jane Austen hotel is the literal dream. Let me walk about the room while Mr. Darcy makes fun of me 😍
Missed a reading vlog! X

@@e_spren Thank you very much for the answer :)
@@acinnor4633 Happy to help!! 😊
like Austenland? that sounds exactly like what you need
Do I have to read any of the previous Cassandra Clare books to begin Chain of Gold?
Technically, no. But I think you should at least read The Infernal Devices because it spoils the end of that series and also, a lot of people say it’s hard to keep track of all the characters and I believe it would be easier if you already know all the characters and pairings from The Infernal Devices.

Have you seen Austenland the movie? It’s basically what you described eheh I wish it would be a real thing also 😍
You guys at the coffee shop in your cute coat was totally gossip girl vibes
Just out of curiosity, how fast do you read??
Poetry recommendation
1) Haiku World by Kuo Kenih. Great book on modern haiku.
Non fiction audiobook recommendation - MIDNIGHT IN CHERNOBYL by Adam Higgenbotham. Soooo good!!
Honestly there is probably that kind of experience for Austenites already available
Watch Austenland, you'd love it.
Are you going to be reading Crescent City?
a jane austen hotel seems like a viable business idea to me!
i kinda expacted Sarah J maas's new book to be in this.
was it not out yet?
im confused.
I was excited to think you would announce the 9th book in the Diane Galbadon Outlander series!! So disappointing.
That’s how you know that you’re a true Jane Austen fan, when you just want to live in their world. Watch the Pride and Prejudice BBC version with Colin Firth!
If you want to watch a good period series, watch Poldark.
My school canceled for 3 weeks due to COVID19 so.....I guess I'm gonna be reading alot.
Can you read Chain of Gold without reading any previous books of this world?
Essica Rahman thank you very much!
A Jane Austen hotel experience?? Count me in!
Your business idea sounds like a LARP ( Live Action Role Play)
there's always larping. not sure about the regency period tho.
How did your time change?! Isn’t it on the 29th?
Apparently americans changed time on the 8th? I was confused too!
