    Thank you so much! I looked this video up in a pinch right before a voiceover session, and just the simple coconut oil and gum tricks combined saved me about an hour in post-recording cleanup, and, more importantly, alleviated a lot of frustration around the raw quality of recording. You are an absolute star!

    THANK YOU. I have started a podcast where I do all the voice acting (it’s a narrated novel, so it’s got a LOT of accents in it, eight so far) and the mouth click thing was driving me NUTS. I’m usually a vocalist, ie singer, so I don’t have to worry about mouth sounds generally speaking. A whole new way of recording, is narration. You’ve helped me so much, not just here but also in the American accent department. I used to be able to do an amazing Californian accent after staying in LA for a few months in my twenties, but I had oral surgery in my late 20s and half of my tongue was made numb so I’ve had to learn to move half of my tongue ALL over again. I never really nailed the American accent again after that, but I can finally do it now. Thank youuuu!

    I can't tell you how helpful this was for me. Thank you so much! I was doing absolutely everything recommended for staying hydrated and keeping moisture up during a session, but my clicks and pops were getting worse not better with most suggestions. I create a LOT of saliva and have issues with post-nasal drip, so trying the cranberry juice and focusing on clearing my mouth rather than adding more saliva made a huge difference. My iZotope plug-in thanks you! XD

    I love this video! Bragg's is wonderful stuff, and don't even get me started on coconut oil! Your philosophical approach is very harmonious to mine. Xylitol gum, excellent practical tips-I love it!! And oil pulling is amazing. I'd like to point out that, as a health practice, it's best to do first thing when you wake up and to swish or "pull" the oil for 20-30 minutes. During a performance, just a little coconut oil to lubricate the mouth is not just effective, but delicious and healthy I'm heading to your website right now. I just love your shine! Instant fan.

    If you want to remove them completely, try using a gate and white noise. Unless you want to spend ages editing. Otherwise keep the videos as they are, it's no big deal for TH-cam.

    I've tried quite a few tips from various people. I've tried water and apples. They don't work very well. They either don't have any effect or they make *MORE* saliva sounds afterwards.
    I have tried gum, and it either makes it better or makes it worse. Did record some voice lines and some sound great, but others sound worse!

    Awesome video! Some really good tips :)
    To cut down the length of the video and make it a bit more punchy, it might be an idea to edit out the fillers parts. For example, any "ums" and "yknows", for this a script might help. Also any anxious thinking out loud thoughts, whilst endearing, bulk out the video.
    Keep it up!

    You're supersmart, I'm impressed. However, why go through so much trouble for something so minor? Maybe this is too much nitpicking?

    • @luminous6969
      @luminous6969 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It depends on how audible your saliva clicks are. Mine are at the end of every sentence for some reason. You can't hear them when I'm talking to someone, but a microphone (that's designed to pick up sound) will pick it up, and having one at the end of every sentence is brutal to listen to and brutal to edit out. I have to be like 12 inches from the mic or else the mic picks them up, but being that far away makes the sound echoey so I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place, so yes, it can be a big problem for some people.
