I'm in love with this channel! Probably one of the best in the design community, and is in my top 3 "go-to" for tips and tricks. I just started my first job at an ad agency about 3 weeks ago. My process is ALWAYS "make multiple versions" because I'll change one, small detail and continue building from those. Before long I have several drafts and I was worried that they would, somehow, find that annoying. The first 15 seconds of this video put me at ease after hearing you say that a "true professional would never stop at a single concept". Thank you for saying that, I needed it.
Absolutely PERFECT! I loved both the creative approach to the design of the pages and the lecturers ability to explain how this was done step-by-step. I am looking forward to seeing the other videos as well. AMAAAAZING!
Martin, thank you so much for these free tutorials! I'm not designing much for offset print any longer but have often wanted to bleed text off a trim edge and wondered how to achieve the 1/8-inch bleed allowance without chopping off the text or distorting it. This has usually been a consideration for ruling this technique out. It looks like you also played with placing the headline on the diagonal across the gutter, solving the bleed issue but also possible creating a pinch in the gutter. I love using something like this one a center spread on saddle-stitched documents, other bindings would be tricky. These are all important things for designers to consider. I learn new tips and techniques with every video!
Need, need, need! In the nick of time, whew! Thank you! I've become so depressed, that I just stopped finishing my own work, to because I've lost so many friends and family, due to cancer and covid. Pray I can assemble my books in time, exhausted from being constantly picked on, by hubby.
Litterally perfect! Just when I'm working on my internship report's layout! I already did different layouts, without stopping at the first one, but your idea of using the subject selection in photoshop gave me an idea and my cover looks so beautiful thanks to you! (Sorry for my english I'm French)
Id love to learn a lot more about magazine design and layout ideas, I do educational and Women's magazines and tent to get stuck with creative ideas to place articles, like interviews and illustrations. This tutorial was truly amazing and insightful.
I'd love to see more editorial designs and web as well! I think these two are connected, and not just from a historical point of view. I'm just building my portfolio, and your explanation is so useful, that I'm thinking of taking your course too! Thanks for making it available here!
Thank you so much for this, super helpful this is a Godsend I mean that literally. I was at my desk earlier asking God for help and then I see this video!!
I can't believe that somebody is sharing such a valuable knowledge in graphic design for FREE. Thanks a ton for creating videos like this. we have learned a lot from your channel. Can you please recommend graphic design books which teaches about composition and creative layouts?
You are a fantastic tutor in design , explain everything so well and in depth for example, the design decisions you make are all explained. This is something I sometimes struggle to understand why certain things have been added. Like regarding the inverted ‘T’ to tie it with the headline. Things that I over look all the time yet I have a degree in design and been working for 3 years😂, so helpful to look at these! Best design channel on TH-cam 👍🏻
I just subscribed. You're amazing. You asked us to describe what sorts of tutorials we would like to see! I'd love to see tutorials on creating graphics to learn foreign language concepts. For example, if you're studying Russian, there are some complex nuances for words like: "ешё," which means MORE. So, I took a picture of a glass full of ice cream, removed the background in photoshop, and copied the picture several times so I would have several glasses full of ice cream - one behind the other - each one getting smaller as they disappeared into the background. And underneath of it all, I wrote in Russian: "I want SOME MORE." It was a way of using the graphics to help me understand that linguistic concept. So, I'd love to see more ideas as to how to use design techniques/magazine layout techniques, so I can create more effective poster, or even 2-page spreads. (My goal is to eventually make a series of books like this.)
Thank you so much for such great and informative content. I no more find the need to watch designing videos from any other channel. Would love to watch some poster making tips and tricks tutorial.
th-cam.com/video/kko7gXJ9-RQ/w-d-xo.html I suggest you to watch video in this link channel. It's good Adobe illustrator tutorial guys.. Check it out now.. 👍
As always your instruction and explaining as interesting, easy and fun as it could be , learned so much from your tutorials and the actual courses you've made and I'm proud for you to be my instructor and mentor , Thank you! can't wait for the next video I hope you make a full detailed courses on both procreate and fresco I'll be more than happy to take these courses
Bro i'll tell you something now, your knowledge in design and the way you deliver your content just earned you a subcriber👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 I wish I could subscribe 500 times. Thank you again for this video, the techniques your taught me today, you don't wanna know what I'm gonna do with them🏆😂😂🙆🏾♂️ and they are so simple!
Thank you for this glimpse into the possibilities of composition and creative layouts! I would love to see more poster designs! Although a lot of events are postponed or cancelled, I do believe this type of design will stay and become more relevant in the future. I know Adobe allows for many different canvas sizes on one workspace so maybe you can do a tutorial or workflow for a poster design side by side with flyer design.
Great tutorial! Explained perfectly clear step by step. I can’t wait to create it in Indesign, right after my vacation ;) Greetings from Dominicana for the wole „Yes I’m a Designer” Team ☀️🌴♥️
I truly appreciate your clear and concise instructions. Could you please advise me on how to download the light bulb icon without its white background? I've attempted to obtain the image from the Noun Project, but regardless of which file format I choose, whether PNG or SVG, the icon always appears with a white background. As a result, when I import it into Adobe, it recognizes it as a square object instead of a lamp icon. Thank you kindly.
One of the best design channels on TH-cam, I reckon.
Yep
