    Gabe - Enjoying this series greatly! A question about India generally based upon your two years there: If you were making a 'where-to-go' recommendation to a first time visitor to India who has no more than 12 days to spend, what do you suggest? I know the typical first visit is often Delhi, Agra and Jaipur but would you recommend something else? I know in the past you have said you don't love the 'mega cities' so would Delhi and/or Mumbai even be on your list. Thanks.

    • @GabrielTravelerVideos
      @GabrielTravelerVideos  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I would recommend Delhi, Agra, Orchha, Haridwar and Rishikesh. Forget Jaipur. Only spend 2-3 nights in Delhi and 2 nights max in Agra or maybe just visit for the day. Orchha, Rishikesh and Haridwar will give you the smaller town experience. Plan to spend the most amount of time in Rishikesh, 3-5 days. If you look on a map they're all in line. Problem is if you fly into Delhi you have to go down to Orchha and then get back up to Rishikesh and then back down to Delhi to catch your flight out. But it will be worth it. You might also consider Khajuraho, near Orchha. Perhaps skip either Rishikesh or Orchha so you don't have to retrace your steps, but definitely try to go to at least one.

      @@stevenlapidus2902 Hampi is my favourite place in India but it's in the southern state of Karnataka. It was the capital of the Vijayanagara empire (from 12the to 16th century I think) and was supposedly the largest/most developed city in the world at the time. It's like an open air museum spread over several kilometers, full of ruins from that time. You'll have to take a flight to Bangalore and then a train/bus to Hampi. Since you have only 12 days, it would be better to explore one region in India, say the north. Gabriel has several videos on Hampi which you might want to check.

      Delhi to Gwalior, Khajuraho, Orchha, and Jhansi route is very popular among foreigners visiting India and it is very interesting and beautiful.
      But one should visit in winter or it gets very hot there. In summer, it's better to visit somewhere in the hills like Shimla, Manali, Palampur.
      Mostly though, one should first decide what one would like to see... mountain area, rocky plateau area, ancient ruins, temples, beaches, wildlife, adventure...

    So sorry to say..Your video of 29.13 min. is not worth to enjoy minutely because you filmed the places inside the fort too quickly rather to say very fast filming of India's Golden fort.
    However my congratulations for you.

    Hi Gabriel, it's very confusing getting around the city of Jaisalmer, you're better off getting a rickshaw ride, they have better knowledge of the city you may just end up in a place you didn't expect. There's no doubt traveling is such an adventure it can be euphoric or nerve-racking a place like India with such crowds can be a distraction these have such high energy with so many motorbikes moving around simultaneously.

      You miss the point of these vlogs. Gabriel walks everywhere, especially where motorized travel cannot access. He takes us to places only intrepid travellers go and interacts with local people as a friend. That is what makes his vlogs so special.

      @@carolinecaiger6717I think you miss the point also Caroline - he heads straight for the nearest rental car shop in countries where he's confident enough to drive in and or has the option to get a car (or other form of motorised transport). I doubt he's crazy enough to try and endure the India driving experience or rely on their dodgy rickshaws, hence he walks. Not quite the barefoot explorer that you romanticise about.

      The government should start with the basics of keeping their streets clean and more importantly the locals should have that basic civic sense to want to keep their streets clean otherwise whats the point of wanting to go back to their former glory when the streets are dirty everyday.
