Wow Gabriel, Jodhpur seems to be especially intense in some areas, even more than other big cities of India. The street musician was unbelievable too!!
18:02 There's a famous Bollywood song from 1955 called "Mera joota hai japani" in which the actor Raj Kapoor sings about how his shoes are from Japan, his pants are from England and his red cap is from Russia but his heart is Indian. It is very popular to this day in India and even in The Soviet Union countries and Eastern Europe. Looks like Gabriel re-invented the same concept except the last part.
Because alot of young people nowadays just want all the gimmicky videos. The type where people say 'I'm going to walk around the most dangerous part of the city' or 'how much can I get for 10 dollars a day'. They're not interested in pure travel videos.

We Indians are noisy at home, traffic is just an expression! That's why some Indians would leave everything and meditate in the mountains....so all these yoga, spirituality is basically the outcome of being noisy!
With vehicles and padestrians passing through blind spots in narrow lanes from opposote directions in congested greenfield cities, overcrowding by lazy padestrians on streets and them crossing roads ar their whims, slowmoving carts (sometimes pulled by cattles and even humans), encroachment by vendors, stray animals roaming about, unruly drivers, honking at times is necessary and after a while it becomes habit even for somebody not fond of hobking, out of overarching frustration and desperation caused by getting stuck in traffic without any intervention by traffic sergeants.

Question - I am a teacher who has 7-8 weeks off in the summer. I know summer us probably not the best time to travel in India but... If you only had 7-8 weeks to travel around India, what would you recommend visiting? Itinerary? Thanks
Probably best to head for the Himalayas since other parts of India will either be scorching hot or else very wet and rainy during the summer. Look into McLeod Ganj, Manali, Ladakh, Sikkim. I was in Rishikesh and Delhi in June once and it was around 115F. So you'll need to get up into the mountains to get away from the heat: th-cam.com/video/KI5t7U7gucI/w-d-xo.html
You made me laugh with the "days of our lives" soap opera reference Gabe! Perfect quote for the clock tower. Just wondering if that baby taxi reference is still being used.
Jodhpur is a very cool place and Mehrangarh fort is simply amazing. Please do try the Laal Maas which is a meat dish and speciality of that region. I also stayed somewhere around where you are staying. The only down side was the racket from the early morning prayers from the mosques and temples around. Was very loud and annoying.
Have you considered getting some business cards or stickers with your channel name that you could hand out when there is a language barrier with people you meet? Happy Travels
Hi Gabe, big fan. I’m a few videos behind when you were in Ladakh at the high altitude. Your smart phone probably has a feature on it that will tell you your exact altitude. If not, there are several apps you could download 🇮🇳
Looks like you’re not too far from Ahmedabad, Gabe. If you happen to be there on the 15th or 16th it would be great to meet up. Lots to see and do there, from the Gandhi ashram to an epic night food market. We’ll be staying at the Deewanji Ni Haveli nearby. It could be a place you go through en route to Diu, the Rann of Khatchh, or en route down to Mumbai and Goa. We are in Delhi about to head south to Orchha, Khajuraho and Varanasi before flying to Ahmedabad on the 14th.
21:22 that was temple in that haveli .. And there was instrunction written in hindi to not go with shoes inside .. And in most of temples videography and photography are not allowed .. So dont take this as rude behaviour..
Back in my teen days,I was into Deep Purple,UFO and Black Sabbath,Rolling Stones was never on my radar, and yet the song “Wild Horses” always appears on my list of all time favorites..Great vlog as always.
Always enjoy your videos. Can't remember if you have covered this on one of your back at home video walks, but what travel or health insurance do you use? I will be retiring in 2 years and plan on doing the "Slow Travel" outside the U.S. and only returning about every 6 months. Thanks & Safe Travels.
Luckily not even close. I would hate to be recognized everywhere I go. But it was pretty cool to meet someone who had met one of the GOATs of rock'n'roll.
please can I ask you, My husband 72 and I 64 really thinking of spending 2 or 3 weeks in Jodhpurs, mid Jan 25. We hope it will be warm sunny days but not too hot. I passed through on a tour many years ago but did not stop. I have found a little haveli that has peaceful, gardens. Do you think this would be too long to stay there? A mix of stopping resting then out into the bustle! I want to really get into one city!
It might depend on how long your trip is. I can't say whether you would enjoy it for two to three weeks since it depends on how you travel and what you would be doing with your time. But you might want to also look into Jaisalmer and Pushkar. It could be nice to spend a week in each one if you want to see a little more, because they're all worth visiting.
@@GabrielTravelerVideos many thanks for quick reply. We would be there for about 2 or 3 weeks. It’s more to stop and sleep, rest in the lush gardens of the little hotel and then intense times in the blue! I am drawn to it, I don’t know why. Great video. Looks like we would be quite safe there. Getting older now!

I feel one would have to have infinite patience and good skills to be a driver in Indian cities😊 Thankyou Gabriel for such interesting videos.
I was surprised to see a lot of those side streets really clean
Have you considered getting some business cards or stickers with your channel name that you could hand out when there is a language barrier with people you meet? Happy Travels
It’s on the news that mick jagger was indeed in India celebrating last month
Hi Gabe, big fan. I’m a few videos behind when you were in Ladakh at the high altitude. Your smart phone probably has a feature on it that will tell you your exact altitude. If not, there are several apps you could download 🇮🇳
You're probably right, I'll have to give that a try sometime. Cheers.
Good to know. I'm catching a flight out of Jodhpur today, but not too far away. Enjoy amazing Orchha.
@@GabrielTravelerVideos Thanks!
Almost at 600k 😎👏🙌
Mick Jagger was here. Strolling Bones.

Good morning from Arizona 4 AM 52 degrees
The hospitals over there must be pretty busy, that traffic was nuts
I like your vlog videos 👌🏼👌🏼👍🏼😍

32:03 he should start up his own TH-cam channel....he was awesome!
21:22 that was temple in that haveli ..
And there was instrunction written in hindi to not go with shoes inside ..
And in most of temples videography and photography are not allowed ..
So dont take this as rude behaviour..
Wild 🙃
You’re a busy man Gabriel enjoy your work ✔️
Back in my teen days,I was into Deep Purple,UFO and Black Sabbath,Rolling Stones was never on my radar, and yet the song “Wild Horses” always appears on my list of all time favorites..Great vlog as always.
Listen to "Beggar's Banquet", one of their best albums.
@@GabrielTravelerVideos
Listening to “Sympathy for the Devil”.
Was at their Voodoo Lounge Concert in ,95 in Johannesburg South Africa. Incredible band.
Time isn't holding up, time isn't after us, same as it ever was
Gabriel has to start learning these local dialects when he goes to India...
Gabriel is almost as famous as Mick Jagger 😁
Luckily not even close. I would hate to be recognized everywhere I go. But it was pretty cool to meet someone who had met one of the GOATs of rock'n'roll.
I agree, especially in India he is stopped many times by either fans of his channel or just for a chat 😊
please can I ask you, My husband 72 and I 64 really thinking of spending 2 or 3 weeks in Jodhpurs, mid Jan 25.
Wow I am new subscriber watching from Uganda 🇺🇬 in africa your welcome to Uganda I will host you I am also content creator
lol! can't believe that guy met Mick Jagger! Insane
If he didn't have the video I wouldn't have believed it. But it was definitely him. Pretty wild.
Bro you should also visit to Eastern Himalayas state Like SIKKIM AND ARUNACHAL Pradesh.
You will be find another level swag of adventure.
He did do sikkim iirc. But yeah would love to see Gabriel do the og northeast
27:33 don't you TH-camrs have any other copyright free Indian music to choose from?I've heard this annoying song and another one, in literally every vlog from India from every other youtuber who goes there
I stayed in the hotel just next to your hotel in the same street
Gabe, I thought you already visited this place in your previous travels since 99 🤔

from JODHPUR! 🥳
Merry
Christmas!
🎅🎄
I was there in 2005
Interesting fact, Rolling Stones logo was inspired by Kali a Hindu goddess. Mick saw her sticking her tounge out and rest is history.
I am Bengali and I have never seen Durga with her tongue out. that got to be Kali.
