As a Banjo, Guitar, Bagpipe playing, Singing (Pastor) you've got a BIG AMEN from me!! Made and raised in Scotland. Moved to OZtralia worked in the "Mines " Hardrock and coal then (The toughest: Ministry) God bless Y'all!
♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥....What else can I say about these fabulous renditions by these most excellent musicians??? One ♥ for each!! Loving listening to this in British Columbia, Canada! Takke!!!
Well, almost 17 year old Allie Sherlock hasn't done any new songs as of tonite, so I went surfing & lo & behold what I found❤Norwegians have Sissel & quite obviously this AWESOME band. Yes, u r my new VERY favorite band by far🎶Huuuuu 🎵
I know these people did not grow up speaking English with an accent from the southern hills of the United States but they sure do sing that way. I have a feeling that the music is something they found later too. It's not extremely popular even here in the south US and this is the first group that I've heard it done by someone that didn't come from around here. Maybe one song but it will be "cleaned up" to fit with other types of music, usually country. Good luck to you all as you continue your musical journey and thanks for the pleasure of listening to you.
Susan, it seems that bluegrass is bigger in Europe than here in the USA. I thought for sure they were from the south when I first found them a year or so back
@@darrellwaters9874 the people around me brought it with them to the Ozarks. I'm not real fond of most country but bluegrass is so much more. When I was young, many of the country stars played and sang bluegrass but not so much now. I live in the delta now and that's part of the problem. It was never as popular here.
You guys are truly amazing. Your energy and performance is refreshing. The haunting sounds bring me back to Tennessee. Thank you for keeping this music and tradition alive.
To be totally honest, I like john dees and red box best of all. I listen to about a half hour every day and sing along to it. But circle has been done a bazillion times.
So people trying to tell you how to do it. MEans you've have hit the big time. So just make the music your own. Keep pushing out the music, there's a lot of old time music to cover out here in America that was writen before copyrighted came in, its all good MUsic.
I love the music ( & played Lots of bluegrass in 62 years), so may i offer a small, Constructive criticism? In the traditional tune,'May the Circle be unbroken', who arranged the' words to beat'? You CANT play it wrong; Haydes version isnt Johnny Cash's version, etc?.but most ive heard add a space between. '..unbroken'..(1,2,3). & , 'by & by, Lord, by and by'(2,3,)well, a better Home AWAITS us(2,3,), in the Sky , Lord, in the sky'..( easier to Show you, than tell you..doubt I'll be jamming on the frozen Dock, WITH you, though😉) You resolve it , fine & it doesnt ' lose tempo', but i fall all over my tongue , trying to harmonize with you , on This tune.. Great Concert,& i wish that i was there to here it live..( Bekka, you cut that hair off? & MOST of you all changed your appearance! Glad your Sound didnt change!) Come play in America! ( please?)
Neweyes.....I know what you're sayin'. When I was 17 or 18 yrs. old, I played in a Bluegrass Band with my Dad and his buddies. That was back in the late 60's. I'm 68 now. We played this song just like everybody else did.....no changes. Back then, nobody did their "own version", so if a New Band puts their own little "twist" on a song......ain't nothin' wrong with that. I like the changes. The words and meaning are still the same. God Bless you, my friend!
What happened? Where are the simple melodies and intricate melding of rhythms and back-beats? What was wrong with your vocalist? Her voice so accented what you were and yet unique and as special as that of Emmy Lou Harris. This is simply a cacophony of bluegrass-like sounds and noises attempting to bulldoze the listener into submission. Gone are the lilting rhythms and intricate solos that was so unique and so different from any other bluegrass artist of today. What you had was a return to what bluegrass was at its roots but whoever is running things now decided to smash that into oblivion, to present us with the same kind of noise we can find from any other pseudo-bluegrass band playing background at a theme park. I don't know what happened or who's doing what or who's deciding what but they have managed to destroy what made you unique and artistic. Shades of what happened to The Lumineers...
@@Mrhootie333 I do so hope you are right. Live at John Dee, they had a pure, distinctive sound that was intricate, eloquent, and artistically elegant. It was bluegrass in the purest sense and like the original bluegrass, it lightened the air around you rather than bulldoze you over with both volume and multiple instruments working against one another.
Alvan Karpas I hate criticizing folks, but I do agree with you. I listen to the John Dee concert repeatedly. This just sounded like a bunch of noise to me. I love the clear notes in the other video. They’re drowning out the vocalist with sound. Jamming is fine but I do hope this isn’t the new sound.
@@sherrimiller5258 Amen Sherri! The intricate precision and the simplicity of the blending of all the instruments framed a voice seldom found these days. You know, for all his flaws, Jim Morrison jealously guarded the sounds and rhythms that made the Doors the Doors just as Ronnie Van Zandt did with Lynnrd Skynnrd. And maybe that is what made both of them so great, they recognized what made them unique and they protected that. Maybe that explains why so many who start out so well, fall by the wayside or into anonymity, much like the Lumineers.

Fantastic, you all looked like you enjoyed it as much as we did. Thank you so much. X
You guys got it going on! Rebekah is beautiful, and the girl on the fiddle, when she smiles, she just brightens up the entire experience
Just discovered this band on TH-cam- one of the best things 2021. Rock on Norway from southern England
My daddy was born in Laurel County Kentucky, as was his father, as was his father, as was his father. This music runs through my veins

To be totally honest, I like john dees and red box best of all. I listen to about a half hour every day and sing along to it. But circle has been done a bazillion times.
Neat.

Love your passion. But FYI. No such thing as a bluegrass jam circle. It’s called a pickin party.
which is also now called a bluegrass jam circle.
