@ffnrew Thank you so much for your comments. I very much appreciate your taking the time to send them and am happy to answer your question. In this podcast I am specifically working on getting the ‘client’ to expand her entire breath mechanism in all directions. I’m not working too much on the technical aspects of breathing, but more just on increasing the ROM of her lungs and chest - stretching and strengthening all the muscles and structures that impede her ability to achieve a full inhale...
@ffnrew ...And then, more importantly, focusing on her ability to “exhale every last atom of air from her lungs until they are as empty as a vacuum” as Pilates writes in Return to Life. This freedom will then result in her ability to breath naturally and efficiently over time without having to over work any muscles just to pump air in and out of her body....
