i love watching your videos. love seeing what you are doing to your land. i know its a lot of hard work, but one day, you guys will look back and see how much you have done and see the beauty of it all. keep up the great work you are doing. god bless you both.
Looks like you got your work cut out for you! Your channel is very informational. Glad Jason introduced me to you. Jason always has the best to say about you and I can see why. You're down to earth like him. Thanks for all you do for Jason. He deserves and needs Godly people in his life. Praying for y'all.
Great to see your managing your cedar woods. Your focus on safety is important. An uncle was killed taking a tree down. Seeing your plans for Sawyer Ridge farm products is income for the future. Glad you have help. Enjoy your TH-cam time. There are many who learn from you. Thank you for sharing with us, Blessings, Jacqueline Skur Gibbs
You are managing your property for what you want to use it for! I have cedar trees too. They do tend to choke out the other trees! Use what you can for projects! Including helping out someone we know! Wink wink! Love from North Florida
Hidden Heights Farm yes, we got some good sized ones here. And they are definitely a fire hazard! 😳 Which is another reason, that we didn’t mention, why we’re getting them out!
Always enjoy whatever you guys are doing. You are always considerate about what you do, because you think it through. Always trying to improve things at the farm. I love cedars, too, but can understand why you are clearing the land of them. I love the cedar wood and the smell. I hope you can utilize some of the wood and some of those nice stones on the property to make a nice picnic grove or hangout spot. Would love to see a project like that after all the other important ones are done. God bless you all.
Richard Semione thank you so much for watching and supporting our channel! We can’t wait to do some projects with this Cedarwood and hope to bring you guys along for that! 👍😀
Cedar lumber works very well for exterior projects. It also looks beautiful for interior projects as well. I would get as much lumber out of those trees as possible if it were me. That's almost as good as having your own gold mine. It's awesome to be able to take something that is harmful for the land and turn it into something useful and something beautiful at the same time. You're also very fortunate to have all the help with the project. Looking good!!!
Ha ha I enjoyed the bloopers at the end of the video to show what it takes to make a video. That sometimes you need to retake and retake without mistakes. Lol that was funny.
Yes, it was a muddy mess the day we did all this. Pretty hard to get that fire started too, but once it got to going, it burned pretty hot! We’ll definitely be bringing y’all along for more! 👍😀
You are practicing sound land management practices by removing the western red cedars, to my knowledge they have no good benefits other then they make good and quick windbreaks, but they will take over. You a great group of friends to help you with this project. I run the sawmill at our antique tractor show every year and have cut some beautiful cedar lumber over the years, so good for you for saving back the bigger usable ones for projects!! Thank you for taking us along.
You’re a man with a good plan and not afraid to use an axe. Yes good fence post as the wood is pretty. But it is a waste for so many on the land. You got a lot done. Good job.
I really enjoyed the video. Looks like you guys got a good deal accomplished today. I noticed your channel is over 10,000 subscribers now. Congrats 🎉. 👍
You did allot, nice that your community came to help, It's work in progress. Love the bloopers that darn rooster lol he's just video bombing again lol he thinks he's the star of the show. 🤣😂🤣😂🤣☺😁🐓🐔🐓🐔🐓🐔🐓🐔🐓🐔🐓🐓🐓
Elizabeth Rojas thank you! And yes, we are very Blessed with great friends who would give up a day of their weekend to come help us! And that darn rooster does think he’s the star of the show. 🙄😂 Lol
Great video! I never thought about the amount of water trees take from the soil 🤔 in Florida we are at or below sea level so lack of water isn’t an issue. And.. your bloopers are awesome! I love them 😂
❤❤Will never have to worry about termites with that wood. Beautiful stuff. People used to build closets with cedar to keep moths out of clothes. Where the term Cedar Robes came from (a piece of furniture) Your place is looking great! God Bless!
Hi guys. I am Dianna from Illinois... love watching You Tube content that is interesting. I came to your channel from the suggestion of Jason (The Crockers). Stumbled onto Jason from another You Tubers suggestions and so on... kind of like a snowball effect!! LOL Anyway looking forward to watching your videos and learning more about your Channel. ;-)
I love cedar. Hoping to cover the inside of the house with it, if nothing else, at least the bathroom. That stuff burns nice and hot too. Ahh man, that is some BEAUTIFUL wood. 🤤 Love that color and smell. I want to see what kind of slabs you get out of it and what y'all build from it. God bless you all and keep you safe
That one cedar with the Y is going make beautiful boards worth a small fortune. I have a table make from a red cedar cross cut I love it. Yes cedars are so invasive clear them out or it just gets worse they crowd out so many other useful trees. Thought I saw a Black Walnut in the background one of my favorite trees.
JoJos yes, we can’t wait to see what kinda boards or projects all these cedars make. And it probably was a black walnut tree, we do have some on our land. Those we will be keeping and hopefully they will do better now that we are clearing out all the cedar trees. 👍😀
I can see a Big difference, looks good. Cedar is Sooo Beautiful and smells great !!!...I myself have always Loved a piece of land where you have openness with trees staggered through out the property, just Beautiful !!!...It would be good if y'all could get a chipper and make your own Cedar Mulch. Good job and video. God Bless Y'all !!!
Trinity Soldier thank you! Sometimes it’s hard to tell on video how much of a difference it made in one day. And we’re trying to get a wood chipper out here, but we’re having a little trouble with that right now. Hopefully soon though. 😊👍
A trick I liked to use was to burn on an old car hood with a chain hooked to it. As the clearing moves the fire comes along. This way you are not left with burn spots.
I do enjoy watching the transformation of overgrown areas, also like to watch the milling process and see the beautiful wood inside. I watch letsdig18 and Out Of The Woods on TH-cam a lot, got that wood in my blood, lol
Walker Farm Fam yes! Both Eddies were out here helping and are coming over again tomorrow to put in another days work. They are great guys for sure! 😊👍
Omigoodness, the things you can do with that wood! Cedar chests, tables, even down to making closet and drawer fresheners. It could be an extra source of income too. The woods must have smelled amazing as you worked.
Looks fun. You can kill and build stuff from that cedar too. Great for closet boxes or shelves. Chicken coopsOutside stuff smoke houses, Because bug resistant lake treated lumber and it smells great, even just little shelves and stuff are great with it because it smells so good it is a natural bug in moth repellent which is why they use it in closets a lot. But especially when you’re building fences or sheds for your goats and stuff like that it’s just a great outside wood to use. The chips make awesome mulch and you can put it with flowers and stuff and make potpourri and any kind of little picture frame or accessories, it’s just a great wood to use for all of that. It’s also great for outdoor furniture or if you’re going to build a porch and railing or if you’re gonna do a little shed you can make shingles out of it and it’s gonna last a lot longer than most wood.
Just catching this video but here is an idea for next Christmas Season, save some of them trees that have the branches down low with plenty of greenery and break the branches off and make garland for mantles and also wreaths. I see here in northern FL where I live and up in New England and other areas of the country that people decorate their homes with that. Also great knowledge on the trees and what they do to the others and I am also happy you look after the other critters that are wild. If you ever do get that wood chipper that would be also a great side hustle for yards and gardens sold in the bags.
Beautiful piece of land! It'll be nice to be able to access the woods a little easier for sure. Have you thought of making an Alaskan Mill? You could plane your logs where they are.
Yes I hope to go to Meet and Greet. Wish I had been brave like you and started a channel so I could have gone to that breakfast. You enjoy it for me. 😜
Boy, I remember doing this back in Texas (Mountain Cedar/Ash Juniper) - we would tie the cleared limbs to the back of ATVS - and the kids would drag to the burn pit. It is a LOT of work! Cedar are a blight on the land - very invasive and prolific!!
Pomona Ponderosa we hope to be doing more of that method the next time everyone comes out. It is just so crowded up there with all the limbs and everything right now, it would be pretty hard to get a four wheeler or an ATV up there.
I was wondering if you planed to try and get some lumber out of it. Cutting brush is part of land management. I enjoyed it. It will be great to see how it comes along.
Make a grape orchard, and start making wine! Lol and fruit trees! However the deer habitat will improve drastically when you get those cedars all out! Only thing cedars are good for is making oxygen! 😂 and beautiful front porch post! Haha
Pure Living For Outdoors we’d love to have some grape vines! We already got the fruit orchard going last fall, now I need some berries! 😊 And you’re right about those cedars! 😂👍 Can’t wait to see what this part of our property looks like 10-15 years from now!
bet that smells good, i use to cut firewood for a living in the winter. some years 50 cord for $20. a day a case of beer when working and 2 meals during the day. that was cut and split then stack it.
That cedar has some beautiful wood! Our invasive trees in SW Florida have no purpose and we’re air dropped by the US Amy of Engineers to dry up the Everglades. Even the goats won’t eat them and the pollen is horrible.
Some of those bigger trees have the prettiest scallops cutting across. Can I put in a request for 3 trivets about 8-10 inches across, 1/2 - 1 inch thick, lol
The ones that the 2 guys are clearing branches off, just to have 2 nice even 1.5 to 2 " slabs off that tree either holding candles or a plate full of cheese. Sigh!!! Oh Man the one on the ground at 10 36 looks like a real good to make rounds off the end ugh. Love the bloopers haha. Take care of you all. Thanks for sharing eh :))

Good video brother, I have the same kind of thing to deal with on my property. I have an Alaskan chainsaw mill I am going to try to make some lumber with. May be something to consider for yourself if you looking to make some lumber.
Just save plenty for fence post we use red cedar for fence post , pole barns most everything we have cedar post in the ground from over 50 years ago still hold strong , pole barns older than that still holding.
Those ceder pecker poles will make good fence posts and rails. I used to make a living hand splitting redwood posts and rails. I also used to make cedar shake bolts (the bolts are band sawed in half to make cedar shakes.)
Sawyer Ridge Farm those trees you cut down will make some beautiful pieces, no matter what you do. I think Jason may have some cedar on his property too, just based on appearance of what he has cut down.
Thank you sharing your journey of clearing out your cedar trees!!!
So generous of these folks to help you out. God bless good people with big hearts. 💕 what a beautiful property.

A lot of hard work, but well worth it to make your land better.

I would like to see more videos of you clearing your land. One other benefit of thinning out the cedars would be fire protection. Looks good already.
Thank you! And you’re right! 👍
Excellent point 👍
good job
I made a bunch of Live Edge Cypress and Cedar and mahogany shelves and benches and they sold very well for a good price.
Those trees are beautiful and would make beautiful furniture or paneling. Hope you can use it and end up in the fireplace. Enjoyed the video.
Maria M. Vargas thank you! 👍😊
All I could think about was how many nice fence post and solid corner post you will have.
Yes, we’re excited about milling a lot of this cedar also.

Lots of progress, lots of work. I didn’t know how much water was used by cedars. Sure is pretty wood.

Those ceder pecker poles will make good fence posts and rails. I used to make a living hand splitting redwood posts and rails. I also used to make cedar shake bolts (the bolts are band sawed in half to make cedar shakes.)
Duck Landes that’s awesome! We can’t wait to do projects with all of this wood, it definitely will not go to waste.
Did you see Jason Crocker’s video saying he is getting a wood mill? May have to get together and mill some wood together!
Virginia b yes! We just watched it earlier. That is pretty awesome! May just have to do that! 👍
Sawyer Ridge Farm those trees you cut down will make some beautiful pieces, no matter what you do. I think Jason may have some cedar on his property too, just based on appearance of what he has cut down.
Your cedar planks are also great for clothes storage to keep the bugs out! Or building a quilt/blank chest.
Virginia Reid yes, that’s one thing we might be doing with the cedar planks is lining the inside of our closet. 👍
