Megan Vincent That is what the show intended to do, but it didn’t translate to that for most of us. Trying to convey Daenerys as the “mad queen” in just 2 episodes is a huge mistake. It seemed forced and out of place. If they couldn’t afford to make more seasons to develop her “mad queen” side then they should’ve ended the show with Daenerys as what we know her, a just, fair, liberator of a Queen.
But it's also beautiful (yet depressing) to imagine that he took her corpse to a peaceful place (maybe beneath a waterfall) far from the world where no one will ever find her. And he lies there with her until the rest of his days.

That is how I always saw Dany too. People in Westeros ignored her and her "baby dragons." Once she was ready to conquer, it should have been too late for them. Season 7 and 8 was so utterly disappointing. She had everything in her arsenal to take King's Landing in a night and then fight the Others. If she was going to become the "Mad Queen," it should have been developed over an entire season or two. Season 5 and 6 had problems, but that's NOTHING compared to the shitty season 7 and the even worse season 8. Dany brought hope to viewers. As you said, hope to a brighter future. I literally cried the first time I saw this scene because that's exactly how I pictured her. She was practically a messiah.

This song hits REALLY hard. Literal tears. Ramin Djawdi didn't disappoint. Each song he made told a story for everyone. I'm still not over what happened to her. I'm gonna always remember her as "Mhysa" not the absolutely stupid "Queen of Ashes.'
I have been wondering how could musicians write music exactly dedicated for a scene, and each time making a different melody, that fits exactly the tone of the scene, adventurous, happy, sad, barbaric, hypemusic, fighting scenes etc. It's trully majestic. Like what Howard Shore with LotR did, Hans Zimmer with his films, John Williams with Star wars and Ramin with GoT!
im not an expert but i believe the soundtrack is written first and then they edit it later in the actual film. so this is from the OST but the version you hear in film may be cut in certain places to match the scene
Alexander Ha Well usually it's the opposite ! The music is written once the film is completely finished to match exactly the rythm of the scenes. But I think in this case and for others they create a general theme (for the Targaryen, Stark,...) and then write alternate scores that match the rythm of the scenes from it !

And I am so so grateful for all these sneak peeks. Thats what I live for. Djawadi looped, eyes closed and for a few moments, I allow myself to feel like I am part of his world. For me, this music is that thing "greater than we are" in which we all eventually need to believe.
In my opinion this is the best score in the whole series and no one can change my mind on this. Perfectly captured Danys character and in combination with the scene it’s just perfect.

That is how I always saw Dany too. People in Westeros ignored her and her "baby dragons." Once she was ready to conquer, it should have been too late for them. Season 7 and 8 was so utterly disappointing. She had everything in her arsenal to take King's Landing in a night and then fight the Others. If she was going to become the "Mad Queen," it should have been developed over an entire season or two. Season 5 and 6 had problems, but that's NOTHING compared to the shitty season 7 and the even worse season 8. Dany brought hope to viewers. As you said, hope to a brighter future. I literally cried the first time I saw this scene because that's exactly how I pictured her. She was practically a messiah.

I have been wondering how could musicians write music exactly dedicated for a scene, and each time making a different melody, that fits exactly the tone of the scene, adventurous, happy, sad, barbaric, hypemusic, fighting scenes etc. It's trully majestic. Like what Howard Shore with LotR did, Hans Zimmer with his films, John Williams with Star wars and Ramin with GoT!
Every (or atleast many) different tracks are based on one pattern, for example the chords and the order, speed etc. which varies in each Soundtrack.

im not an expert but i believe the soundtrack is written first and then they edit it later in the actual film. so this is from the OST but the version you hear in film may be cut in certain places to match the scene

But I think in this case and for others they create a general theme (for the Targaryen, Stark,...) and then write alternate scores that match the rythm of the scenes from it !

For me Daenerys didnt die because this what they have do with her was not funny joke.
That was her character though, you could tell from the first book and season it was just hella rushed and didn't make sense under the circumstance but context and character wise it was fitting and brilliant. Djawadi looped, eyes closed and for a few moments, I allow myself to feel like I am part of his world.
