Legit might be the best series finale I've ever seen. It was hilarious, which is hard for a sitcom to pull off in a finale. And Darius! We learn so much new information about a beloved character. It just hits so hard. Then the cathartic, uplifting moment between all these people who love each other. It's so good! I don't really like to have a firm theory of the final moments. I just like the experience.
Great shit my boy some of the edited clips were out of sync but fantastic and it’s funny cuz I spent yesterday looking to see if you dropped this and here it is
OMG I have HATED today so much and I am so happy to see a video I honestly didn’t know if we’d get. Thank you Nine I’ve enjoyed your coverage of Atlanta, so happy to see you covering the finale. Keep up the great work, can’t wait to see what you tackle next, your episode by episode analysis while keeping comprehension of the whole picture is great. Your channel is an uzzi, got me chillin like it’s a jacuzzi!
TBF, no one is nice to retail and food workers. IMO, this is the closest most Americans will come to having a “servant” of sorts, and they take full advantage of that. Usually the nicer people always told me they got all worked in my field. It’s why I’ve felt youth employment should be in those fields. I think that would begin to instill more class consciousness in future generations. Great vid!
The stuff about the double-edged theme of self-reliance is so good. Sad to see you get to the end, but thanks for this channel and the podcasts and all. Thanks for taking so long between episodes. Work always showed. Can't wait to see what you do next.
YOOOOOO Darius’s face of regret!!!! I’m soooooo flipping glad you pointed that out. I just rewatched the episode a week ago and I was hoping you’d mention it in your analysis
My favorite show of all time is Avatar the last airbender. And I love Buffy and Angel. Main themes in life are choice and family original or found. I love your interpretation of it's real because he's with his people. Thank you I'm gonna go find my Scoobies.
Darius' brother offered him rice. if you eat from the dead in your dream you will die. (old superstition). Darius declined. meaning he chose life. this is also what the Eze was referring to when he asked if Darius would "stay". he most certainly would have "stayed" if he ate the rice.
One of the key tenets of surrealism is putting dream life and the unconscious on the same level as waking life (André Breton talks about this in The Communicating Vessels) and I think that's what the finale is trying to do, so I would actually agree with Glover that it doesn't matter if it's a dream or not, because the dream and the reality are inseparable in the context of the series.
@@NineNerdYards He wrote some bangers. The Surrealist Manifestos are good but Communicating Vessels is def his most influential work for me personally. Also his novel Nadja is incredible.
Both of the classic interpretations leave darius in similar amounts of distress. Either he cant trust anything he sees, not even the existence of his loved ones, or he just stole a car and the cops will be coming for him soon. It actually combines pretty well with the demarcus segment. Where’s the trust? In the shitter across the street (on an unrelated note a sushi spot near my house has like a two story basement walk to the bathroom, with tons of graffiti on the way its honestly a great part of the experience). Our world is insane. We can recognise many reasons and means for others to fool us, and for us to fool ourselves. Wanting to forget you lost your family is a very sympathetic reason for Darius to chase the dep seshes despite its clearly sparking paranoid delusions in him, whether hes out of the chamber or not by the end of the episode. Demarcus is right and wrong at the same time. It does suck that people cant trust each other, or even really themselves. Im not touching that poison fish though
I'm pretty sure in some moments the audio from show clips start overlapping with other scenes in the video, while the original clips have no audio at all. Other than that, another W NNY video.
this unrelated to atlanta but stop coming into restaurants right before they close stop coming in to places on the phone trying to order for two people because whoever you're talking to is too lazy to come in stop going out to places on thanksgiving and christmas eve in large groups and for the love of god stop asking people to label your food for you when they are not expected to
Damn i miss Atlanta

The editing out the intro is intense, it's great 😆👍🏾
Well worth the wait I'm subscribed but always check in just in case I missed this. Staying subscribed for more of your wisdom.

Other people heard that with this upload. Can you let me know where you noticed it. Might need to reupload a better version.
