I did leadville 100 last week, my first 100. I love that event so much , leaving leadville had me feeling sad that it was over but im going to return in 2 years. This race will always hold a special place in my life
Great footage and editing. Was psyched to see our runner, Norman Dods, for whom we were crewing make a cameo in your video @ 11:47. He earned his buckle too.
Thanks for capturing me in the last few frames running down the hill to twin lakes! That was a cool surprise to see myself in the film :) @trailrunnersteven
Incredible video, congrats to him!!! And he kept a positive determined mindset seemingly the whole way! Watching the runner on prosthetics come down that slippery slope gave an appreciation for the added challenges he faced. Incredible.
Yes, I def had to work for that mindset! There was only a few points on hope pass where I started to dip in spirits but food and hydration brought that back. Another fun note, I ran in support of the Challenged Athletes Foundation, they are the ones that make prosthetics like that for runners and many other competitors!
Awesome job on showing what it is like for the crew. Crew may not be running it but they still sacrifice a lot so thanks for helping him out. Funny that he did pass Nate. Good job showing that as well. Glad you didn't show the last runner at cut off as that can be so depressing. Hopefully he will come back next year and get it done.
That's me at 16:10 in the Red shorts and no shirt! Recording one of my best friends coning through the cut off at Twin Lakes!! Thank you so much for capturing this and for telling these stories!
Texas shorts coming in 4 mins from twin lakes cutoff and I’ve been looking for that clip for a week now. Gave it everything to make that cutoff and very thankful you captured that moment!
@@UltraTrailSteventhat would be me 😂😂 Had a missing drop bag at half pipe and no calories for that last climb. Nothing left coming in for that Twin Lake cutoff. I missed hope pass by under 10 mins but I’ll be back for that buckle! Sea level to altitude is no joke for a race like this!
If you look up "ultras near me", you can find one that looks fun - most are- and volunteer! You get to enjoy the atmosphere and camaraderie, and be a part of something cool, without all the running!
Unfortunately DNF’d at Hope Pass but saw you at Mayqueen! Hope the lottery gods are on my side so I can get another crack at it. Such an amazing atmosphere and community!
Bro you just keep getting better and better. Your VFX are amazing. Was that your camera on the coffee table? What settings are you recording at when you add in slow motion? Are you adjusting frame rate or is everything at 60fps?
Thanks man! That camera with the full rig was Chris’s camera. He took the thumbnail photo I used. The slow motion was shot at 60fps and slowed down to 24fps. All mine are exported at 24fps
@@mk_ultrarunner yes I have to know when I want slow motion. However, it results in much better video quality if I shoot 90% of what I want in the same frame rate I edit and export in.
Steven, great dude, great videographer, so thankful for you being out there, and what a great video! That effect when you were trying to calculate the final mayqueen slit was perfect 😂🥱😴. Also made sure to watch this logged out of my premium account for ya too 😁
I’m not even a minute in and I gotta say the editing is already 10/10
The turquoise lake😮
I can only imagine the energy before the start!
Thanks so much, Celine!
It’s an electric event!
I’m so glad you got to return the favor to Colin and crew for each other. So cool to see so many people you know and be able to cheer them on.
“I’d like to spend no more than 5 minutes here” Colin on a mission!
Awesome Video! I love how you took the time to highlight other runners they passed by.
Thank you!

Thanks, Kelly! That was the blade runners second attempt at Leadville 100. Unfortunately, he DNF’d, but has already said he will be back for a third!

Great video, I almost want to try this. $40 for a hat? Jeesh! 1:31
Yeah that’s pricey! Save some money and buy that instead 😂
Big congrats to Colin!

@@mk_ultrarunner no. I shoot most everything in 24fps, except slow motion
