Hi, Karen! The meaning of Juxtaposition is showing contrast by concepts placed side by side. In Floristry, this could be achieved by placing a red tulip in a design of only yellow tulips to cause you to think about the contrast in the two colors. Another example would be placing the smooth texture of fresh-cut bamboo (which is considered to be more contemporary or modern) in a design with fugi mums and fresh pine (which are considered to be more traditional and every day)(the textured area also a contrast - smooth and spiky with the pine and fugi). Many Bespoke designs will highlight the juxtaposition of the flowers by using tropicals, garden flowers, exotic and traditional flowers in the designs. Hope this helps.
