I have been graduated from High School for 5 almost 6 years now and I can say that my High school experience wasn't the best. I struggled so much with self-esteem and insecurities all through out my time there, and I feel that I sometimes still struggle with those emotions. It is good to know that I am not alone with this it can often feel as though your the only one. Thank you, Marilyn for sharing.
Very similar problems and completely understand everything
I graduated high school just over 10 years ago, and there are still times I miss it. I was never outgoing, but what I miss the most is being in track my junior and senior years. I wish I would have joined track when I was a freshman and sophomore, or even when I was in Jr. High! I love your advice to get involved in clubs, music, sports, and whatever. It really does help, especially if you aren't very outgoing and don't make friends very easily. I was never any good at track, but it was still fun!

thank you so so much I am a freshmen in high school and I came from a private school, when I first came people were pretty judgemental. they were nice but they were not really inviting, I sat down with people known as the preps because they wanted me to and i barely talked there was to much gossip, and I have some good friends but like you at lunch sometimes I do feel alone is it wrong that even tho I have a good friends and sit with people is it wrong that i still feel alone and thank u for this video it was so so so helpful I hope i finish out high school really good. and exactly what is the point in judging people. not talking to people because of their "group", i as well love to sing and I haven't been playing guitar a long time but I have been playing more and I love writing songs, and singing you are an inspiration you r so amazing your voice is so amazing and i hope i grow with my music like you to!! people have put me down for my singing and make jokes about it, but for the majority they have been really nice and the friends I do have are always there for me and stand up for me. I still have a lot of friends at other schools but that's so much different then having alot at the school you actually go to..&I would really love og you replied to this!

I can completely relate to this vid!! I suffer from low self esteem and low self confidence and voice lessons helped me as well with that!! I'm still working on it but thank you for Ben great brace enough to use your life as an example of overcoming obstacles

i really like your video so much. i'm sorry you didn't have a good high school year and it is very hard making friends. i like to take on of your tips of your high school year. if i ever went to your school. i would be your friend. but i been out of high school. and i really miss my senior year a lot. and things got better. but i already liked your video. but i will share it later. keep your head up. your a good person madilyn :) my parents always tells me. let them get to know you. it took me a while when i got to make new friends. and your a very nice person
Even I graduated 3 years ago and still haven't changed. Now in my 3rd year of college.
Majority of the friends that I made was in sports. Thanks to Cross Country and Track team for three years. It has changed me in who I am. As a guy I was shy when I met girls.
Now it's not the same. Many of my friends moved out of state. My goal is to meet more people. Not to replace my old friends.
I was a loner in my freshman year.
Really want to type more but it would end up being a 20+ page essay.

High school for me wasn't a good experience migrating to America and that kinda mess my whole out look on life,back home everything was different we ate lunch together in our classrooms and shared our food since I came from a third world country in South America we had no cafeteria,facilities like American schools but what it did was brought us together and we were very diverse and whats cool you graduate at 16 and a half.Now moving to the U.S was a wake up call for me,big and overcrowded everyone had their own clique and the first High School I attended was mixed so I hanged out with the foreign kids just to fit in but I ended becoming close friends with this one American kid then I moved to a new school senior year,I basically was alone senior year with no friends as the only company I had was my teachers. I dreaded it but I learn't from it.I do miss Guyana!!!!

I feel the exact same way you did as a freshman/sophomore as a 30-something adult. It's SUPER hard and I don't know what to do to fix it.
Madilyn, I feel like i'm somewhat like you were in high school. I'm a sophomore and i'm Mormon. I have been trying to be better this year than I was in Jr. High. I have hung out with better people, but am still friends with the others. I've started hanging out with my new friend about 2 months ago and she is in my ward. I have 2 brothers and 2 sisters. I'm the oldest, 16. It's been a little hard for me so far, because like you said, you're not shy, but quiet and reserved, and that's how I am right now. I want to join activities and clubs and whatever else, but I hate being in front of crowds, whether its talking or anything, and I'm not the best at making friends or showing who I really am and who I want to be. I am hoping that I'll get over it within this year soon or next semester but it'd be nice to be who I am by at least next year and make more friends because my friend that I started hanging out with is joining the army next year, she's 18 and I'm usually always hanging out with her when I can because she's nice, and she's almost like a sister to me but since she's all I mainly hang out with then it's going to be hard for me next year, but I'm hoping I can make some friends that will respect me and still hang with me instead of being alone at lunch or any other time during school. You've inspired me and maybe if I rewatch this video of yours a couple times it can make me better, because sometimes in order for a dew things to get through to me I need to be told a few time over and over. hey my name is Jacob i can related to that high school situation i was a Loner i use to be super popular high school dude but i got bullied a lot and i was super muted quiet guy but my guy friends helped me build my confidants when i graduated high school back in 2015 i never had my guy friends to helped me build tons of confident to get way more friends than i had from 209-2015- 2020.

Madiyln paige i don't have to worry about fitting in or wearing make up or anything like that because I'm home schooled and have been for about 5 years but only because my family moved and my parents chose to homeschool me I never wanted to be home schooled and it makes it even harder to make friends I only have 3 real friends I like your song lrreplaceable because it reminds me that it doesn't matter what others may think about me it matters what I think about myself I'm a junior in high school by the way when I did go to school I would just sit by my twin brother at lunch well he would come sit by me for some reason thanks for sharing your high school experience

I'm actually not in highschool but I'm in my 1st year of college(so why am I here?😅). To be honest, some of these tips are really helpful and can apply with college too. Although, it is a little harder to join in school activities because of the quarantine.
