This worked out more easily than I thought. My Redmi 4 is on Nougat. I think Xiaomi has removed the manual confirmation option. I just enabled developer options and then logged into Mi account on the phone, after that I logged into Mi Unlock tool on PC with the same account and connected the phone in fastboot mode. After clicking Unlock the device got unlocked automatically without any hassle. I confirmed the bootloader unlock with the adb command you mentioned. Thanks.
If it gets stucked at 50%, then just wait for 7 days and then follow the video and when you hit that unlock button.....BOOOM.. your device's bootloader will be unlocked. It worked for me, hope it will work for you too. Thank you Dhananjay.

After couple of days of usage the navigation keys started malfunctioning. Now it's unresponsive (even after reboots, and factory resets from Settings menu). Do you have any resolve to that? to the people who are stuck at 50% try this.i did this and was able to unlock the bootloader sucessfully. 1. power off the phone and then press power + volume up button at the same time.your phone will boot into recovery mode 2. now connect your phone to pc using usb cable 3. w8 for drivers to get installed on ur pc 4.nw try to unlock the bootloader using mi unlock tool ps :- make sure u r logged into the same account on ur redmi note 3 which u r using to unlock the bootloader

Hello, I wanted to move an app to system WITHOUT root, i know it can be done by twrp, so i unlocked the bootloader using this, using android platform tools boot it (not flashed) in fastboot and moved the app to system/priv-app but then i am stuck in bootloop at mi logo. From what i could gather searching around, you need LazyFlasher or something in xiaomi to avoid bootloop after modifying system. Am i correct? So what should i do? If you just unlock the bootloader then yes but if you Root then you have to do it manually and I've done videos for that already on the channel :)

It probably won't be formatted, but there is a slight chance that it might get. So taking a backup is always recommended :)
