  • Don't throw away your rolling suitcase and buy another one. Most of the components can be purchased online. Search for your suitcase model and type into the search "replacement wheels" and you'll probably find what you're looking for. Here's a link to the wheels that fit my Timberland suitcase. Thank you so much for this! Delsey said I was out of luck because my bag was too old, but I didn’t think it was ok to discard a perfect,y good bag! These were the exact wheels I needed and now my suitcase is good as new.

    One of my wheels decided to jam up and another followed suit by delaminating into little arcs of plastic when I was walking through the airport at Bali last week. Thanks for video - replacing wheels this weekend.

      Yes, they tend to break apart at the worst time and then you have to favor one side, which can be a hassle. I carry an extra set now in my suitcase whenever we travel. It came in handy on a recent trip. Another wheel started to delaminate on the way to a hotel and I asked the front desk for a screwdriver and replaced it. Thanks for watching!

      I suggest you measure your suitcase and look online for your brand model. Search for "Your brand replacement wheels". If there isn't a brand name on your suitcase, look for something close to your size of suitcases. I mainly search on Amazon. Find your brand model, or brands that look close to yours and are about the same size, and ones that have wheels that look similar to yours. When you find your brand, or a few online suitcases that look similar, search those brands for replacement wheels. You'll find that the manufactures make wheels for several brands, because suitcase manufactures make almost the same suitcase for several companies. When you find a few set of wheels that look close, you can click on the photos for enlargements, and most will also have drawings available with measurements (especially on Amazon) and then measure your own wheels and find a set that is close to yours. Best wishes and thanks for watching!

    I need to replace the wheel itself, not the entire assembly. I easily got that assembly off the case, but can't find the right wheel size on Amazon. I then tried to find the wheel housing as you replaced, but nothing fits - the screw holes don't line up for my Victorinox luggage I have (and Victorinox isn't helpful).

    • @StevenParente
      @StevenParente  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Measure the wheel you need to replace. If you need to convert inches to mm, you can do that online. I looked up "Victorinox luggage wheel replacement 80mm" and found many wheel replacements on Amazon. Try the search with your size of wheel, and see if any look close. For example, here's one of the wheels, out of many shown: amzn.to/48D0JOb Best wishes and thanks for watching!

(My suitcase is over 5 years old and the wheels that get the most use will fall apart first. I'm not sure what you mean. Do you have replacement wheels, and are looking for more? I couldn't find any listings for Chaps Luggage in Amazon, and not many in online searches. If you have replacement wheels, or you have your old wheels, measure them, search in Amazon and see if you can find wheels that look the same. Most all the replacement wheels have diagrams and measurements. If you find something with the same measurements and it looks the same, there's a good chance it will fit. I hope this helps and thanks for watching!

      Another one went out on a recent trip, but I carry a set in my suitcase now and was able to replace it at the hotel. I carry a set whenever we travel. The original wheels lasted about 2 years of constant use. It also depends on when I do a lot of walking on sidewalks vs. just at the airport on a smooth surface. Built in obsolesce and most people throw their suitcase away and buy another one. But that's a good idea you have. Maybe a great business idea? Hope to see you on Shark Tank. 😀 Thanks for watching!

    How do we know we get the right wheels?

    • @StevenParente
      @StevenParente  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Here's my suggestion... if you follow the link to Amazon for the W041-2 S wheels and click on the second thumbnail from the top, they show dimensions of the wheel unit and the measurement between holes where the screws go. For example, it shows the hight is 95mm from top to bottom of the wheel. It has cross angles showing where it fits into the suitcase (90mm and 96mm) and it shows the distances between the screw holes. Take your damaged wheel off and measure it and see if the measurements for the W041-2 S is the same or close. If it is, it will probably work. If it's not, you may need to search for other similar wheels and most of what you'll find show the measurements. I hope this helps and best wishes!

    It won't run evenly now! Ridiculous! Why show you unzipping the broken lining?
    Why not tell us what wheels to order as that is the only hard bit of the job!

    • @StevenParente
      @StevenParente  11 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I didn't have a problem with the evenness of the wheels. Did you? The purpose of this video was to try and fix your suitcase without having to buy a new one. There are many different suitcases and configurations, so trying a "one size fits all", isn't possible. My lining wasn't broken, they didn't include a zip tab to keep the seem hidden. But it was easy to open, as you can see in the video, and much better than having to cut the lining and tape back up. You have to search to find the wheels that will fit your suitcase. However, you can also contact the suitcase manufacturer and ask if they have replacement wheels available to buy. Maybe not all of them will respond, but recently we purchased a little larger suitcases for an upcoming trip, and I wanted back-up wheels, but I couldn't find the exact match. So... I emailed the brand after looking up the company from the tag on the suitcase and they emailed back and I was able to purchase new wheels for $15 per set of left and right wheels, plus $3 dollars shipping. If you are having difficulty finding wheels, try contacting the company. Also, this is how I look for replacement wheels if I'm unable to buy from the company. This is how I found the wheels for this video. Measure your suitcase and look online for your brand model.
