    You’re absolutely right the FAA takes paper work serious as well as the mechanical repairs. Since I know I will be getting the Powerplant soon to complete my license. I been studying my rules & regulations every day Part 39 AD- Air worthiness Directive, TCDS-Type Design of Aircraft, AMOC- Alternative Method of compliance, STC- supplemental type certificate, MEL- minimum equipment List, MMEL-Master minimum equipment list, AC- Advisory Circular, and I also know how recall most of the meaning on rules and regulations. Is good that you touching on these areas

    Can you do a video of your tool box or what are tools necessary for a job. Or idk if you already did one like that

      I did do one a wiel back on basic tools you will need and tools I use as an IA. Of course you will collect lots of things that make the job easier but you don't necessarily need them

    Bryce, can you offer up your guidance on filling out AMT logs? Are your entries the same or more detail than the AC logs? Do you continue to keep up with your AMT log after getting your certificates?

      I usually keep those pretty brief, I just put the aircraft and what I did. If I were seeking my cert, I would be more in-depth for specific tasks. I also keep all if the professional certifications and trainings I have completed

    Why did you need "Tach Time " for the V-Reg replacement???

    • @brycebuildsit
      @brycebuildsit  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I didn't. Technically, I just need the date, but if something where to happen and the voltage regulator was replaced, how would I know the time in service on the voltage regulator. For the sake of traceability I am in the habit of including Tach Time and Hobbs ~ if the aircraft has a Hobbs meter on every logbook entry.

    Would you recommend this carrier choice to someone with an education that of high schooler, but hasn’t furthered their education in the last 5 years, as well as not knowing any thing about airplanes? ✈️

      First I would ask if you are mechanicly inclined? Lots of my students know nothing about aircraft when they first start and end up having a successful career.
      I will caution you there is lots of math and information in aviation programs. My Advice would be to find a 147 school close to where you are and schedule a tour. The program Cordinator will give you a much better idea of what is expected of you. But I have done allot of videos on getting you A&P so make sure you check some of those out. I've even done videos on how to get an A&P without going to school.

    Hey Mr. Bryce. My name is Josue, i recently graduated a powerplant repairer course through the army. It was 5.5 months of training on the t701 and the t55 turbine engines. I am looking to get a powerplant a&p certification and am wondering how possible it is to pass just by going and taking the test. I was told we had enough hours studying and hands-on to get what they called a ticket. Is there a crash course i should take, or maybe a question book that i should read? What is my best course of action atm?

      The first one to do is call your FSDO and Is ask to speak to an air worthiness.Inspector. Tell him you have practical experience.Working power plants and would like to get signed off to take the Tests for the P. You will have to meet him at the FSDO and show him all of your records of where you worked possible.Augment book entries or anything else he might ask for.
      Once he has signed you off on an 8610- 2.Based on practical experience I would recommend going to a crash course to pass the test. If all your prior experience is on engines he might not sign you off to take the air frame portion.
      If that ends up being the case though you will only have to go through the air frame portion of a one forty seven school to be eligible to test for the a.
      I have made a lot of videos about this under the show.You want to be an a and p playlist where I break it down even more.

    Whats a "Major STC" ??

    • @brycebuildsit
      @brycebuildsit  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Well technically every STC is Major and it just means any modification that is not a minor modification. 14 CFR part 43 Appendix A gives a lost of all major repairs and alterations.

    TACHometer Time has nothing to do with Time in Service

    • @brycebuildsit
      @brycebuildsit  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      If time in service is being tracked off of the tach, then it most certainly does. And if someone changes, said tach without keeping track of the hours it can be impossible to determine total time due to the missing hours.

      The total time in service of an Aircraft / Component / or part there of. It can be tracked using Tach Time Or Hobbs if the aircraft is equipped with a Hobbs meter
