    Nice. Props out is more prone to wash out in dives while props in wash out more in sharp corners. Raising digital idle usually solves it for the most time but it makes the whoop more floaty

    Great review. I agree with your points on the BetaFpv canopy related to the camera. I'm not a fan of the camera view or angle non adjustment. I shimmed the front of the canopy on my 65s with some foam which helped the camera angle a bit and kind of supports the front where there should be a mount for a screw. Although the shim helped camera angle a bit it may also stress the canopy over time.

    Also, I feel like it flies a lot better with Gemfan Tri Blade for my flying style. It has a lot more control and authority for aggressive maneuvers at the expense of a few seconds off the flight time.

    Excellent video. As someone who just ordered his first whoop ever, I decided to go with a Mobula 6 (since I was put off by the motors) and add one of the small ELRS receivers to it. Also plan to remove the SPI antenna and use GNB27 connectors for batteries and quad. Any other suggestions for saving weight? How do you feel about removing the motor connectors to make up for the weight of the ELRS receiver? If I ever kill the AIO board though, it will definitely be replaced with integrated ELRS.

    • @KOrnhOliO1
      @KOrnhOliO1 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not worth the extreme effort to remove the motor connectors. Those solder pads are really tiny and super close together. Unless you are an EXPERT solderer, with a top end soldering station, forget it!!
      Grab 4 of those motor connectors and weigh them. They weigh almost nothing...hard for most scales to register that low! Way less than 1 gram!
      Plus, those 5amp AIO boards are notorious for burning out at the drop of a hat!!! So, the best thing you can do is NOTHING. Seriously, any fooling around with that design will give you a chance of ruining the quad or it's flight performance.
      I'd fly it and LOVE IT! =(:^)-
      Because you will love it, just like my buddy and I do ours. It's fantastic - especially if you got the 25,000kv motors! Even if you didn't, it's one whale of a great product! If you want it lighter, you should have bought the Moblite6.

    • @NickBurnsFPV
      @NickBurnsFPV  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I prefer the 75mm platform. I still mainly fly my custom 1102 10000kv 2s whoops around the house. I would rather they have elrs, but haven't built a version with that in it yet. If I had to pick of the recent lot I would likely choose the meteor65, it has 35mm props in a 65mm frame with 350mw vtx and elrs onboard. I wish it had a better camera and adjustable angle, but overall it pretty good imho if we can live with the two drawbacks.

      @@Crusader4633 I even prefer 1s 75mm over 65mm. The weight difference is small enough that the additional thrust give me more confidence and the ability to push the speed more. I think its due to, yes, less blades, and also the motor could be undersized. I fly a number of my own whoops with 40mm triblades on 0802 motors, but when I am commonly flying I don't dive whoops all that much.

    • @KOrnhOliO1
      @KOrnhOliO1 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Probably wouldn't improve things because those motors are soooo much heavier. Remember, "It's all about weight with whoops!" ;)
      I have a big issue with BetaFPV NOT GETTING THAT! It's obvious they don't get it because they include the heavier 450mah 1s lipo in the box! They should be including a 300 or 350mah lipo to keep the weight as low as possible.
      Again, remember, ONLY NEWBIE's make a big deal about flight time with whoops! Flight time means nothing at all because we are striving for lightweight as possible! Lightweight gives us the best flight performance. And if we don't have the best flight performance with have the issues like these two from BetaFPV have!!!! lol :(
      Extra battery weight is defeating the purpose here...and that purpose is what? ....lol...
      "It's all about WEIGHT with whoops!"
      If BetaFPV actually GOT IT, they'd include a 300mah lipo to get their whoop as light as possible, and they'd have very formidable competition for the Moblite6 and 7 which come in way lighter and are way better fliers, mostly because of that. A lot of Yaw wash out issues are caused by too heavy of a craft! ;)

      I made some tiny light weight builds. Tried several motors. I can approve 1102 are way more powerful than 0802 motors. The extra 4g weight are nothing, because thrust is still way more. You will need bigger or more bladed props to use the larger motor effect. Leave it stock for inside. For outside get the meteor 85

    • @nikotttin
      @nikotttin 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I build a 75mm on the 1102 13500kv. With a 450mA I got less flight time than on 0802.
      Further it felt quite heavy. So yes, as both commenters said: it's not worth it without larger props...
      Regarding flight time, anything less than 2 min is awful. You crash, flip, and the battery is dead.
