- The run is timed by combining the cycle timer (top of mini map) of act 1 and act 2.
This run is done offline without the use of the obolite repository.

This run blew my goal out of the water which was getting a 49xx run thanks to the newly discovered infinite void beam glitch.
My luck for this run was pretty crazy. Definitely one of the luckier runs i've had.
Could save more time by having cleaner movement such as not failing sooo many DMJs and faster boss fights. Pretty much my first attempt in this new route so I'm still trying to optimize some areas and fights in the run.
Regardless, this run had some crazy luck. Will be hard to replicate this type of luck

I figured out the Phrike melee trick the first time I fought him as I panic started swinging. Also found that melee is very OP in this game and you can wreck most enemies. Some can’t hit you and some just kind of flop on their back or stagger over on their knees and don’t get back uo before you kill them if you keep swinging. Other enemies, the smaller ones and the drones, are one hit even without sword upgrades. I used melee constantly in this game even with smaller flying enemies and many mini boss types.
The ost of this game is unsettling (in a positive way), especially the Hyperion boss theme, it really gave me an "Alien" vibe

well done! impressive display. this game is way better than it gets credit for (even though for a fairly steep price), the soundtrack (esp. hyperion) is just amazing.
edit: just in case you didnt know: try the piledriver weapon for the endboss and just stick them wherever... it renders the endboss a complete joke :P
Can you explain the void beam exploit a bit with the hollow seeker? Is it as simple as swapping weapons while you have the void beam running?

yeaah It's hard to get into tbh. death usually means a reset since you lose way too much time, and resetting means closing the game and deleting the save file then booting up the game again. But i do really enjoy challenging runs and just finishing a run deathless is already a challenge in itself. I could stream from the PS5 but the quality really takes a hit. Only reason why I record is because I can upload it in 4k60. I'm in the process of getting a capture card though.
@@delerickdel8833 ya definitely understandable re getting in to it, especially with the way the game structures the save file. at the same time i'd say this is, or at least should be, the pinnacle category for this game. kind of like all bosses is for the souls games, or or any% nmg for hollow knight. anwyay, if you do end up starting a stream for further WR attempts on twitch or sumtn pls let me know! i'd love to watch some of the grind if i can, and im sure others would as well.

Fresh File challenges are the most challenging IMO
My PB for Fresh File any% glitches was 55:01, it was the world record for like 2 days then got beat lol.
I just completed an insane challenge. Fresh File, deathless, Glitchless, no item/heals/artifacts. All bosses..
It took more attempts that what I assumed but was hella happy to finally complete it
@@delerickdel8833 you should try to Fresh File, no heal/items/artifacts. No death, no glitches.
It’s not as intimidating as a No hit or a No damage run but it still a sweaty hands experience with way less resets due to “time loss” or bad room RNG..
The challenge is more skill based since it’s not a speed run. Next step for me is to go No Damage the full game.. but that’s going to take quite a bit resets to accomplish lol

Bro I finally did it.. beat the whole game, fresh file, no glitches, no heals/items/artifacts. All bosses without dying.
Funny thing is... I wasn’t going for speed but still cleared it in 85 mins lol

How did you lift the Lockdown early at 18:10?
only have to kill the two healing towers in order to lift the lockdown in that room. All lockdowns work like that; kill a particular enemy or two in order to proceed
Lmao I had no idea Phrike basically can't hit you at melee range that fight was crazy to watch
I figured that out the first time I fought him in a panic so just started swinging. Melee is really OP in this. The blue wolf squid enemies among many others go down in one hit. The yellow bigger enemies stagger over and let you beat them to death without fighting back after the first hit, as well as the large blue enemies from biome 4 can’t hit you when you’re whacking them. Also some of the mini bosses just fall over on their side staggered after one hit and you can beat them down with ease as well. Obviously many you need to shoot your way through, but the sword, especially with an enhancement, absolutely wrecks.
Speaking as just a casual viewer who isn't in the scene, the voidbeam feels like the first thing that's made me think, "This is getting into 'real' speedrun territory," instead of '''''just''''' playing the game as intended skillfully and as fast as possible.
Are there other glitches or exploits used in the run that aren't as obvious? What about possible new strats that people are looking into?
the major "glitch" in this game has to be the DMJ (dash melee jump) tech. It's for sure not an intended mechanic so I'd consider that a glitch. It allows selene to basically bunny hop around the map.
There are a couple strats that exists right now but they're "room dependant". You can only pull them off in certain room layouts so you can't do it in every run.
18:55 in the run is an example. You usually have to go through multiple areas in that layout but you can just skip all of that but grappling the orb at the very top of that room. This room layout isn't really common in a NG fresh file run so it's fairly lucky to get this and it saves A LOT of time in comparison to the other room layout.

Why do you melee sometimes? I mean, you're dashing and you melee (even though there aren't enemies)
I was wondering the same thing. He could save 30 seconds just from not meleeing. Might have 2 actions binded to the same button. No clue how come else he'd be doing it.
Just watched another of his videos and he replied by jumping far and it involves jumping and hitting dash and melee I think all 3 at the same time. So that's why sometimes he just melees. That's how he's zipping across the map so fast.

Interesting glitch… only bad news is the glitch disqualifies your run if you want the world record… still very interesting to see tho lol
since when lead glitches in speedruns to disqualification? isn't using exploids and glitches if the game to go faster kinda the point of speedrunning lol
It's been verified as the Any% Fresh File WR. Glitches, AFAIK, only disqualify a specified glitchless run.
@@SilberBrisingr for me it’s more impressive to go Glitchless and still be really fast.

@@brandonm.8079 There is none. By nature of this being the world record, there are currently no faster runs in the Fresh File category. Further, Any% generally implies that you can do anything the game allows you to do without using third party tools, unless the community decides otherwise (Portal's, for example). So, in a sense, this *is* the glitch/anything goes category for a Fresh File, it's just that allowing these things is generally considered standard.
Hey dude not bad but if u used the Electropylon driver on phrike it would have defeated him in a lesser time( check out my ultimate guide)..lol still don't know why u would speedrun through the Biomes ..that totatly defeats the purpose of this game...
