      Thanks for watching, you two will have a great time! We were just talking yesterday about how we miss the sushi and the upstairs pool.

    great video, priced out this resort and Hilton next door, difference in price is about $400 for 5 nights, is the Hilton worth the extra $. We would like to sit on the beach a couple hours each day but not go in the water. Traveling in mid August 2023.

      You’ll have a great time at either place but for a $400 difference, we would choose the Hilton! Better beach, drinks and food. Overall it’s definitely a step up from the Wyndham.

      I just priced out the Hilton for a Feb stay and it’s 2k more. Is it worth that much of an increase?

      @@emilypurdy779 PLEASE shop around, just ran a quick senerio (for 2 people) on jetblue vacations website, for 1 week in february 2024 (2/11-2/18) the wyndham price is $3289 and the Hilton is $3916, (so about $100 a day difference) and that's including round trip air fare from NYC to Cancun and included transport from airport to resort both ways. Both quotes were with basic non upgraded rooms. We stayed at wyndham this past August and loved it. It is an excellent value, I'm sure the Hilton is better but at what cost? The only bad thing about Wyndham is the beach, ruined a couple years ago with a hurricane and lots of sea weed. If you want to swim in the ocean just walk next door to the Hilton, as beaches in Mexico are public property. You will not be able to use Hilton chairs and cabanas but the beach is open to everyone. BTW, if you are facebook user, there are fan pages (groups) for ALL major resorts on facebook. That's how we get a lot of our info. We join the facebook group and post questions, usually answered within minutes from other guests. @emilypurdy779

    Good video, what’s a good way to transfer from the airport to the hotel? We’re going in to weeks. Thanks for sharing.

      We normally use www.cancunairporttransportations.com/ but this last time used www.cancunandrivieramaya.com both are excellent and about the same price

      If the Hilton is in your budget, we’d definitely recommend it over the Wyndham!

    Quick question, which month did you visit in the video? I thought the seaweed/sargassum' was seasonal from April to September, is this not the case?

    • @SippingSunset
      @SippingSunset  ปีที่แล้ว

      We were there in early May but we also stayed at the Hilton this October. The sargassum was still really bad at the Wyndham in October but there was hardly any around the corner at the Hilton.

    Appreciate the video... interesting to learn the name change...We went a few years back and remember it being Panama Jack.. I was considering the Reef 28 will check out your video on there

      @@SippingSunset Which would you choose?! Ive watched both of your videos and I can't tell. Would the seaweed be enough to sway you toward reef 28?

    • @SippingSunset
      @SippingSunset  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@brookealexander3970 Hi Brooke - if the price is similar we would pick the Wyndham. Everything was a little more spacious there like the rooms, pool, and grounds. But you can’t go wrong either way! Thanks for watching and let us know what you decide ☀️

    • @SippingSunset
      @SippingSunset  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So sorry, I don’t remember the room number but it was a junior suite ocean front on the 2nd floor. Next time we book we’ll likely do the junior suite ocean view. This would be a view of the ocean and the street. Cheers!

      Hi Michael- we love exploring around town. Our favorite places are Don Sirloin, The Lost Tiki, Piola, Mamatis Beach Club, Lido Beach Club and Las Quakas! If you want to get out of town a trip to Chichen Itza is awesome! We also recommend swimming with the turtles in Akumel!

    Is this hotel trying to clean the seaweed up. It seems like people only complain about that. Can u smell it all around the main pool.

    • @SippingSunset
      @SippingSunset  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, we could smell it at the main pool. We used the upstairs pool most of the time.

      You’ll want to fly into Cancun. PDC is about 40 from the airport. Thanks for watching! 👍🍹
