All the planet was gripped by unrest, anxieties, uncertainties and griefs , it was life in the time of corona, life in a time of useless and frankly incomprehensible hatreds and divisions among members of my species. Yet meanwhile, out there in the sunlight, somewhere in the wilds of my state, this fellow, decked in all his spring splendor, was contributing and honing to sublime perfection his own song, a thing of beauty with no sign of any of those elements besetting us, we foolish humans. This particular guy is one of the handsomest BH grosbeaks I've ever seen, with his shades of orange yellow and golds blending into each other. I hope he found a sweet lady to keep him company and raise handsome birdie babies with, and I hope he will enjoy many peaceful springs with many generations of black-headed grosbeaks singing this same song learned from their father. May you also enjoy many many years filling your eyes and ears with beauty.
