One of the very many important things he said BUT in a slightly different context is piece coordination. This is MOST important once the opponent's king is on the side of the board. Make SURE your knight complements/coordinates with your bishop by placing your knight on a square that allows your knight to control squares your bishop can't control on the side of the board. It's not just enough placing your knight in-between your king and the opponent's king (before the W knight move), The knight MUST be controlling squares of opposite color to your bishop. Thanks for the video!!
The best move for the puzzle is Pawn f6 then if black tries to capture the queen then simply move the rook to e8 then a beautiful checkmate. I love your puzzle chess talk

Solution to the puzzle: 1.f6 Threatning 2.Re8# so it is obvious that if 1...Qxd2 2.Re8# so now Black has lot of Variations, 1...h6 So if 2.Re1+ Black can play 2...Kh7. White Queen to C1, whatever black Queen captures, (rook or the queen,) we'll recapture Black's queen. So he captures or do some other move. Then we'll shift our (white) queen from C1 to h6. Black will be in confusion and moves some other piece. Then finall rook to e8 will be a beautiful check mate.
1st option white pawn to f6, then if black queen captures white queen, then rook to e8 is a checkmate.. 2nd option white pawn to f6, then if king to f8, recognising the checkmate, then white queen to h6 is a check, black is forced to retreat his king back, then finally white rook to e8 is a beautiful smothered checkmate
F6 then black has Kf8 move to delay the check mate. But after Qh6,Kg8,Qg7 checkmate. If black block the E file by the Re4 then simply Rxe4 then black can play Qc6 But after Qe2 no way to stop the checkmate. If after Qe2 Black play Kf8 then Qe7,Kg8,Qe8,Qxe8 followed by Rxe8 Checkmate.
