Califone 3420 cassette recorder & azimuth adjustment

This rugged Califone 3420 cassette recorder designed for school use is still working perfectly despite being 30 years old. I demonstrate its features and recording quality as well as give an example of adjusting the playback head azimuth alignment to improve audio quality when playing a cassette not originally recorded on the machine you're using. With a small Phillips jeweler's screwdriver and some patience, the adjustment can be made quite easily.
Leaderless tape, designed for answering machines, lets you record right up to the physical end of the tape on each side, making it especially good for auto-reverse machines since you barely lose any time as the tape switches sides.
