What you have to realize is that there is a lot of money coming in from TV rights. Each team gets a lot of money from the NCAA and each conference (like the SEC). The money gets distributed equally. Plus, they get extra money for different bowl games and more the National Championship game.

The schools make a ton of money through TV rights and sponsorships. The last Big 12 Conference TV deal was for $2.3 billion over 6 years. And that's only split between the 12 schools. Many other conferences getting their own deals.
Roll Tide Roll. Every one hates us cause we are the program they wanna be or wanna beat. The most national championships and conference titles. Watch the stadium light up at night to thunderstruck and the entrance of the team in GameDay. Its bad ass
These are educational programs first and foremost. These guys also want to provide their athletes with an experience that prepares them for a life after college that represents the school well. These guys are educators ( coaches, equipment managers, etc) first. The money that we spend on education, though we complain it's not enough; is a lot compared with most countries.
I'm going to be really honest. A lot of the good athletes in football and basketball do the bare minimum for school. They are put in classes favorable to athletes, get special allowances and exemptions, are given tutors, and have others do work for them. There are some exceptional students, but I haven't worked with many of them quite honestly. It's insulting to make the athletics more important than the schooling.
These facilities are one mile from my house. Alabama is the most dominant, number one program in the history of college football. We love our boys. The SEC in particular is (IMO) rivaled in spirit by only the EPL. It's madness. We live and die each week with our team. Cheers!
Wealthy patrons often donate use of their private jets and helicopters for coaches to go recruiting. "We've got to get to Player X before Notre Dame does" and they hop on a jet and get there in mere minutes. I know a coach who landed in small helicopter in the middle of the player's practice game. That makes an impression! of course this gets high tech. People know the tail numbers of the donor's Gulfstream and track on the internet (FAA) what cities the plane lands in....Tuscaloosa....they must be going after Jimbo Jones....we better get there tomorrow". One coach aware of this had them do a touchdown in one city when his recruiting intent was down the road for another player. He landed and drove to the real target.
The thing that differentiates College Sports Fandom over Professional Fandom is that Colleges don't ever move. They could shutter their doors for good (and many have, believe it or not), but they'll never move locations. So their Fandom will remain loyal for as long as they want to. And there's some sense of community with a College team. With a professional team, they are free to move to different cities whenever they want to. Some fans will follow them, but many consider such a move as a betrayal. Just ask any Raider fan. They've been in Oakland, L.A., and now Vegas.
College about 6 home games. Most of the players of the team are on full scholarship. Each D1 (Division 1--largest schools) school can offer 85 full-tuition (4 years of college) paid scholarships. Since college is so expensive in the US, that turns out to be alot of $$. Players must maintain a certain grade point level (I don't know what it is now) to remain eligible to play. Players with lower academic aptitude or who have not come from a good high school district and may be behind academically will typically get free tutoring provided to help them maintain their grade point average and thus their eligibility.
About the question of if you’re a good player but crap with grades: some players will just give up the sport, there’s also ‘junior colleges’ or community colleges that have teams that you don’t have to have the same level of grades to play there. Usually those schools are 2 years so they’ll attend and play for 2 years and then transfer to the division 1 schools then if they’re really good onto the NFL. There’s a really good Netflix show about some of those schools can’t remember the name though
The main funding for college football programs comes from television contracts. Bama is in the Southeastern Conference, which has something like a 10-year, $3.2 billion contract with network ESPN. Also, 100,000 attendance at games helps too.
Saw a local player who got rich in the NFL come back to his college and said to his former team mates "look out the window". He drove up a matte black Lamborhgini Aventador and his girlfriend an orange Lamborgini Murcielago convertible. "The lesson boys....stay in school...".
Until just a couple of years ago, college players couldn't get any money. The universities and video game companies could make money using the players pictures but the players got nothing. The NCAA has allowed players to receive money for letting others use their name, image and likeness. The schools don't pay them but they can now get endorsement deals. Olivia Dunne, from LSU gymnastics made $2.7 million. Bijan Robinson, the RB from Texas managed to pick up $1.8 million in endorsements. So, basically, until last year, these facilities were one of the prime perks the schools would use to get kids to come to their school.
I went to Eastern New Mexico University in the town of Portales. The newer stadium has a capacity of 4000. The town has a population of 12,000. Used by the University and the high school. About 2000 fans for the college games but every high school home game is sold out. It is a division 2 school in the Lone Star Conference. There are 4 different divisions, Division 1 is what you reacted to, Division 2, Division 3 and the 4th is the NAIA, all have had playoffs for years before the Division 1.
They should do the facility for the Black knights which is the name of the football team at the United States military academy at West point., Which plays against the u.s. naval academy every year in a rivalry which has lasted since 1890
Each college signs with their company of choice (Nike/ Adidas/ Under Armour). Some high schools have affiliates too here in the US. Free tickets for students depends on the school.
They have full time tutors, the player never go into a classroom. Their diet is controlled by what each player needs. All of this is also paid for each player. If you look in moat states the highest paid employee is the football coach. Alabama coach is the highest paid. I live in Georgia and since we are back to back National Champions Coach Smart just signed a new contract for 112.5 million for 10 years. The Stadium is also getting a 68 million update. To say college football and especially the SEC is big is a understatement. SEC = Southern Eastern Conference
When you pick a team, don’t do it because it’s a serious national contender. Don’t be that fan lol. Pick a team that you have a connection to, you like their stadium, they have traditions you find particularly cool or interesting, you like their colors…that’s simply better and makes the games mean something more to you than just picking a team because they are good.
Wide Receiver gloves are already pretty tacky. Stickum was outlawed in football in 1981. I've always been a great pass catcher and I only started wearing gloves in my mid 20s. Pro tip: Sitting flat with your legs out in front of you while catching passes will give you better body control and hands when you're mid air. If you're not aware of what your hands are doing when you're mid air it's a great way to get a jammed finger. Point your palms towards the football and keep your hands loose 👐
Every top football player takes minimum credits and has a "tutor" for every class that "helps" with assignments. You have to be a REALLY bad student to fail with the advantages a football player gets. Should also note there are tons of super smart NFL players. Valedictorian level students are common in the NFL due to the work ethic
...I'm from Ohio State.....Our team is the Ohio State Buckeyes !!!!! Go Bucks !!!!!!! In college football in the US, they are allowed to wear gloves that are made from silicone or neoprene on the front of the gloves. In the US I don't think there are very many colleges who don't have an amazing football facility. All of them are impressive....Also if a player at Ohio State does not keep up the required GPA they can lose their scholarship.
I think this may be the older one as they have newer lockers with TV screens, recliners, etc. You can also look up schools like Oklahoma, Florida, Texas where you can see not just the football facilities but also college baseball, college basketball...gone are the days of a small locker for a baseball player or a row of folding chairs. Everything is high tech & posh. Florida has a "beach" with outdoor pools, basketball courts outdoor for football players, etc. It's a facilities arms race to get recruits. As much as other people complain about football, most schools use football profits to pay for most women's sports, put money into the general scholarship funds for regular students, put money into buildings, and other things that wouldn't be possible without profitable football programs. Just sharing part of why so much goes into college football.
This is an old one. They have updated since then. Its even better now. You should see the new locker room now. Plus the tunnel is awesome. But really all the top college programs have crazy facilities. Texas is nice, Oregon is fine, LSU, Georgia, Clemson...... I could go on for a while. Basically every five years its being updated.
You should look at the colorado university buffalos facilities. They have probably the best in the nation. They definitely have the largest equipment room in the country.
The colleges themselves may be state owned, but the football programs take "Donations" from people who have played there or just went to the school and have done well in life and want to donate money to make sure the school has everything it needs to succeed. The endowments and trusts that pour money in, plus the actual football program made 216million USD dollars last year in sales (Tickets and merchandise) and made a profit of 18 mil USD after expenses. Most every other school sport loses money, so football basically pays for all the other sports. Donations and trusts pay for the facilities.
Aiden is 💯% right that some colleges that dont have NFL teams in their state get massive attendances but I would put like if you were born into a team in the EPL, usually students of those schools had their parents or close relatives go to that school and have been fans since childhood and continue to be after graduating. Some of these schools get a lot of money from alumni who became famous or really successful and donate money for their sports department and in exchange they get zones or whatever it may be named after them or get more public recognition. In some instances people have more allegiance e for their college team then for their professional team they follow because your college is for life were a NFL franchise might move somewhere else which has happened on many occasions.
You mentioned the name Jason Bell so I decided to look him up. I discovered that he works with one of your countrymen, Osi Umenyiora. I then researched Mr. Umenyiora and discovered that he also played in the State of Alabama for what was at the time known as the Troy State Trojans, now known as the Troy Trojans--just a bit of trivia that i thought you may, or may not, find interesting. My father graduated from the University of Alabama in 1950 and I am a native and current resident of the State of Alabama, so, cheers Mates, and y'all come see us!
It is a German brand and the way they pronounce it is correct. I just found this out about 8 years ago. However, most Europeans pronounce Nike incorrectly. Daz is one of the exceptions. They say Nike like bike 🥺
The biggest reason these facilities are so fancy is for recruiting. Alabama loses 20-25% of their roster every year to graduation or more likely players running out of their 5 years of college eligibility. With the need to reload the roster every year. college teams need to impress the best recruits to sign them. A school like 'Bama doesn't need to try too hard though.
I love it! I would LOVE to send you some stuff from the stadium! Idk how to contact you tho lol.... I would definitely check out alabama light show... if you want a team to follow its definitely alabama or georgia! Roll Tide yall

Alabama fan here. Alabama has been the most successful college football program over the last decade and has been able to reinvest in their facilities. Not every college program have on this same level. If fact most don't. The major programs may have something on par as they my have major donors supporting the program. Not every college is lucky enough to have these resources there are a lot of small colleges who can only maintain their program by playing other college that they are severely outmatched by in order to receive a payout of 500,000+ dollars. In some case the payouts are over a million. In college up to 85 players receive a free scholarship and room and board to play for the team. Other students can try out for the team as walk-ons but even if they make the team they receive no support from the school, though it is still possible to earn a scholarship later. And per university rules you have to maintain a passing grade to stay in school. A recent change is to allow players to have Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) deal to be paid by outside entities The schools aren't legally allowed to pay the players. They didn't show it in this video but they do have a nutritionist at the Alabama facilities. Most college fan bases are regional, where the primary fanbase is local to the schools. Though with television coverage fans can follow some teams from all over the world. College fans are perceived as being more passionate about their teams as the team to support all sports that they university has though football and basketball are generally the most popular sport of most schools.
Each college in the US has contracts with different brands to wear the brand(Adidas-Nike-Underarmor). Im not sure if its free but there on contracts forsure. There are several colleges in each state with new locker rooms being updated yearly. Oregon Ducks have a amazing locker room. The CEO of NIKE graduated from Oregon University. Huge Donor and there players get exclusive gear. The same guy in this video has a video taking a trip to Oregon and many other locker rooms around the country.

The schools make a ton of money through TV rights and sponsorships. The last Big 12 Conference TV deal was for $2.3 billion over 6 years. And that's only split between the 12 schools. Many other conferences getting their own deals.
I was going to say that. Television is the main reason these big teams have enough money to do this.
Roll Tide Roll. Every one hates us cause we are the program they wanna be or wanna beat. The most national championships and conference titles. Watch the stadium light up at night to thunderstruck and the entrance of the team in GameDay. Its bad ass
We gotta get back to being massive n physical on both sides of the ball Rolltide
I live 2 miles from nike.. 15miles from addidas.. let's just say Nike campus is gigantic. 30+ yrs ago I went to Phil nights house. Amazing..
Very nice but I personally like the LSU facilities a little more.
I think the Carolina hockey team are called the Hurricanes.
You've got to react to the Part 2 of this as well
I've lived in Huntsville, Al going on 35 years now....Rolllllll Tide.
There are 2 teams in Alabama, Alabama Crimson Tide and Auburn Tigers. also Nick Saban was LSU Coach before going to Alabama!
Roll Tide...come visit us during football season and join us for a tailgating experience.
i played D3 basketball and i was certainly blessed… this is just a different level lol
The main funding for college football programs comes from television contracts. Bama is in the Southeastern Conference, which has something like a 10-year, $3.2 billion contract with network ESPN. Also, 100,000 attendance at games helps too.
Great big guy glad you showed your family this one 🥃
Saw a local player who got rich in the NFL come back to his college and said to his former team mates "look out the window". He drove up a matte black Lamborhgini Aventador and his girlfriend an orange Lamborgini Murcielago convertible. "The lesson boys....stay in school...".
Yes must be passing classes to play sports in college and highschool.
But athletes get free tutoring especially in college.
IDK about college but I do know in HS if you're failing an important class like math, history or, language arts, you've get benched
The former Bama defensive coordinator went over to be the head coach of Georgia. They have won the national championship 2 years in a row.
Less than 1% of college players get any money.
They are called "Student Athletes" and have to maintain a certain grade point average to remain on the team. Some of the athletes may have tutors.
Look at the Syracuse University Lacrosse facility. A sport you’ve never heard of, but awesome support from the school
University of Michigan has a 280,000 ft² football facility with a 32,000 ft² weight room.
Doesn’t mean bigger is better.
Plus the new medical facility is just crazy. Well I think its called the Sports Science Building.
Notre Dame Will Always be on a Main Channel and Plays some of biggest names in college Football.
Historic Team. The 4 Horseman
ROLL Tide!!! I live in Alabama , big BAMA fan!!!!!
You guys should check out Oregon’s football facilities
When you pick a team, don’t do it because it’s a serious national contender. Don’t be that fan lol. Pick a team that you have a connection to, you like their stadium, they have traditions you find particularly cool or interesting, you like their colors…that’s simply better and makes the games mean something more to you than just picking a team because they are good.
IT'S YOUR STATE !!!
@@russellfisher2853 well, they obviously aren’t in any particular state so I didn’t feel the necessity to include that criteria in my comment.
ROLL TIDE ROLL! ❤
Bama has renovated their facility again since this video
Roll Tide Roll Ya'll!
You guys should react to the Oregon Ducks football facility. The founder of Nike attended Oregon.
The way British people pronounce Adidas is so funny.
It is a German brand and the way they pronounce it is correct. I just found this out about 8 years ago. However, most Europeans pronounce Nike incorrectly. Daz is one of the exceptions. They say Nike like bike 🥺
The founders were the German Adi Dassler and his brother who went on to found Puma.
The facility gets annual upgrades and additional square footage added as we speak . Roll Tide!
Gotta watch part 2!
My Jersey was pretty expensive. So much so in fact I rarely wear it. It’s special to me. I’d like to get fitted for a whole uniform though. Or get a game worn uniform would be like a dream come true. I’ll probably never get it but a dream come true.
Banger video man💯💯
THE UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS LONGHORNS GIVE EM A LOOK
You should react to the University of Florida football facilities. Just opened a few months ago. The latest and greatest. Probably the best in the country!
Roll tide Alabama also holds the most national championships of any college football team I think it is 17 now whatever is on their helmet is how many national championships they have won. No other college team even comes close to that something Florida might have eight not sure but definitely Crimson Tide holds the most and they hold the most sec titles also also can I get a roll tide
Roll Tide Roll !!!
LSU . check out there facilities
Roll Tide Roll wearing my shirt and shoes right now
Alabama also has a complete personal nutrition, academic, N.I.L assistance, and many more staff . They didn't show the hydro zero gravity rehab. treadmill pools. Roll Tide!!!
NFL draft is next Thursday. Two Bama players should be in the top 5.
There's no place like Tuscaloosa and the great University of Alabama! Roll Tide Roll!!!!!!
Thats our old building you should do a new video on the updated one.
Nike makes alot of football uniforms but you also got under armor that makes uniforms for Oregon in addias makes uniforms as well
