A friend fucked his hearing after firing one panzerfaust round. He left after several months. Can’t imagine what years of service would do to your hearing.
I'm in awe over the accuracy of this gun. Just a tiny movement and the shell will land 100 yards from it's target. But somehow someone figured out how to make sure this gun always hits within 10 yards of it's target.

Its amazing that today's artillery: computer aided, using GPS, high tech, freakish lethality of the shell, absolute accuracy to within yards of the target... and yet, a soldier "fires" the gun by pulling on a rope/lanyard, like in 1800s era! Love it!

Howitzers are something fierce. They were shooting close compared to how far they could reach out to. With the proper clear path, you'd barely hear the round coming in, and it could punch through a tank.
Nice piece of UK designed Artillery, UFH , Ultra Lightweight Field Howitzer, or as we called it during trials the Spider Gun ( Due to use of both forward and Rear Ground Trails, use of Titanium Alloys reduced weight to allow air lift by a Blackhawk whirlybird 😊
There's a lot of good weapons built over the years but one of my favorite is the catyusha rocket system accuracy wasn't the best but it didn't need to be it's a very feared weapon for a reason

It will do so if those m982 Excalibur rounds are used. with "normal" unguided artillery rounds it just has a cep of 50-200m .. like most artillery...

You've got the section chief, gunner, #1 man... Then there are others who are putting fuzes on the shells, clearing the breach, and they rotate out.
I used to drive under the rounds closer to the target zone at Fort Irwin. I’d count off from hit to boom all the time, good times😊
