I have some fellow firefighter friends that where there with Type 4 engines and got turned away from assignments because of there equipment was up to standards for Cal - Fire. The crazy thing is that they have been on fires all season so far with the same Type 4 engine and left a fire in Boise and drove 8.5 hours after being requested. They are private contractors , not structure fire from California , so they where treated like bums and sent on the way. It's quite obvious that the Type 1 teams that are managing the fire are structure based out of Cal - Fire and using the fire for a federal money grab, no intentions of getting a handle on the fire, why would you turn away help, unless you want to keep the money in the state and not private.
How F'd up, sadly it doesn't shock me one bit. Now that a problem. Portola CA. Be strong 🙏 Could eat all of us by the end. *Have to come back to say thousands of men and women are risking there lives to save our communities and forests and by no means are they discounted by red tape and government. Is this really Taylorsville? I have checked the current incident maps and the fire is nowhere near Taylorsville. The structure status map shows nothing in Taylorsville. The NASA FIRMS map shows no hot spots near Taylorsville. What gives?
Once again, the houses are on fire but the trees around them are NOT. So, how did those houses catch on fire? All of you with Smart Meters need to shut off your main breaker when you evacuate. The power company is able to reverse electrical surges into your house thru that smart meter causing your house to catch fire. Yes, you will lose all the food in your fridge and freezer, but that is a small price to pay to keep your whole house from burning.

Not sure what you mean, but I dont think alot of folks realize when these fires are going through an area there is immense heat and ignites anything that is flammable. They create their own draft and are very hard to fight. Not to mention everything is incredibly dry. Unfortunately this is getting to be the norm lately. Its heartbreaking seeing homes and whole towns being burned. Fire crews are doing their best but there are so many fires burning, they are getting spread pretty thin, and we've got a ways to go till the end of fire season.
