First time I have seen that many people in your space in a while! Can tell summer is on it's way. Great fines and thank you for keeping us in the loop of the beautiful beaches of Emerald Isle. It's good to know that they patrol and keep us safe on the beaches. Always going to be that one person who just takes it to the limit.....Hope those people had spare keys! .Good times with the girls on the beaches LOL
I usually don't go detecting with so many people out there but the tide was coming up and I just had to get some hunting in! At least 2 people had a bad day losing the car key and the house key. Keys and coins are very common finds for me. Many people stop and ask me to find their keys or a cell phone. Those girls watched me walk with the detector and one cheered for me saying "you are doing what I want to do". Anyway I got a target and dug it out and it was the scotch whiskey, they all just had a fit! It was fun

Alaska, where I live, we just began our 60+ days of light. Only gets sunset-ish around 2am, but gets light an hour later. Happy hunting! Memorial Day weekend is coming........
Wow, that makes it for really long days! Is it hard to adjust to the light & the dark seasons? Yes, Memorial weekend is almost here and the will be the unofficial start to summer season!
Basia Today in both situations, the waning or axing of the light is very gradual. About half of the year, the sunrise/sunset are ‘normal,’ but it’s something you get usd to over time. We call it acclimation and I love it here. Very private, very quiet, low population, way far away from big towns (we are 220 miles one way toFairbanks). No fast food, one sit down restaurant, two gas stations with convenience stores, one grocery, two bars, one utility company. There’s also no property taxes, no state income taxes, no physical (mailing) addresses, and one school that has grades K-12 with about 175 kids spread between the grades. It gets very cold (-40°F average in winter) and pretty warm (85F°-95°F in summer. I love it here!

The coin spills add up so quickly, I expect this to be a great season for my hunts! Yes, someone got locked out of their car and their home, definitely a bad day for them!
it's an old british 2 pence piece. the three feathers represent the 'prince of wales (prince charles) and the inscription 'ich dien' means 'i serve'. if you were to melt it down for scrap, it would be worth 3 pence. that's why they brought in the new one. good find.

Yes, this is what metal detecting is about. The machine "sees" metal objects and beeps. Then you just dig it out!
You detecting often money but and other things
The machine finds anything that is metal. So, that includes jewelry, keys, coins, bottle caps, pulltabs and other metal objects!
