    Hello! 😊
My gate has a manual opener, a short piece of log chain, and a master combination lock for security. It has never let me down plus it keeps me in shape getting in and out of my vehicle. You should see how fast I can open it in a rain storm! 😂

WOW Thats the biggest Vehicle detector loop I've ever seen...
I've done Drive Thru loops and they were no where that big. Most were less than 4x8 .
When installing into an existing Slab, We'd saw Cut down about 2" then Epoxy seal 4 turns of No. 12 awg wire in the slot.
We had a Temp loop inside some 1/2 Conduit that we could lean up against a wall or some support to keep a Drive thru working in the event of the in-ground Loop Failure.
A loop outside the gate would give you a "Door bell" type signal that some has pulled up to the Gate.
    Thanks Guys..

There's good and bad with having these fences. I had a six foot privacy fence around my previous property. Unfortunately, it made it feel like a prison and ruined the feeling of going outdoors. Hopefully that will not be the case for you.

I think the only wacko is in Australia. Most all would just be lookie-loo's, on a rare drive through of that part of the country. Pull into the end of the driveway, snap a pic of the place they've been all over on film, lol. That would be a little weird for them though, I'm sure, and really upsetting to Hunter probably. You can bet they're plenty prepared for anything that would smack of truly threatening, but no good person wants to have to go that far.

Good morning all! Checking in from the SE MO delta flatlands this morning. Came down out of the Ozarks Thursday and are visiting friends here for the weekend. The wife has a big family reunion this afternoon about 50 miles north. Coincidentally, along Highway 25 here, from Kennett to Cape Girardeau, they’re having a 100-mile yard sale. Most every little town has clusters of booths in parking lots and lawns. Pretty wild.
Anyway, that gate is something! System control is multifaceted and complex stuff, and there are a lot of moving parts to that system. I think you’ve chosen features you’ll like. Now to get the grounds put back together after the bombing. 🥴

Mike, I believe that is the same kind of opener I had installed last year. When mine was installed, there was a problem with it's charging circuit and the battery ran down a couple of times. As your installer pointed out, the opener runs off the battery, not house power. I ended up with my truck trapped behind an immovable gate, and it's a nuisance to unhook the drive chain.
There's a setting on the circuit board for "fail open" or "fail closed". Setting it to fail open kept my truck from being trapped behind the gate. With fail open set, the unit senses a failing battery or other problem, opens the gate, and leaves it open. If you are more concerned about security, choose fail closed.

I live in a gated community and serve as a volunteer facilities manager. Let me give you a few things to think about. It's a mechanical/electrical device installed outdoors. Someday, it's going to fail. You should know how to disengage the operator so you can manually open the gate. What are you going to do if you drive up from the outside and it won't open? Do have a way to get around to troubleshoot the problem? Can you Melissa enter that way as well? I presume your operator has an internal battery to operate the gate during a power failure, correct? (Hopefully, it is designed to fail open on power loss.) If so, you should schedule a periodic test to that system. The internal batteries don't last forever, I speak from experience. The opener is a great convenience when it works, but can be problematic if it fails when you have an emergency situation. Again, I speak from experience.

That is a great idea. We think we will remember where everything is buried but soon forget. A detailed map with dimensions is very useful.

Poor Archie, he reached his majority and then whack off with his n__s! Wow, Mike Morgan using a shovel but you have to love the Rexcavator. From felling trees, ripping up stumps, simple grading to precision close in ditch digging this guy does it all! Mike you are a master of this beast. Congrats to Hannah and Tyler, baby on the way!!!

Finally got er done. How nice is that! Looks great and works great. Homestead is secure. That's got to feel awesome. I'm so happy for y'all. I like that you can also use your phone to open the gate. Never know, a remote may be forgotten or misplaced, or you may arrive home w a friend, in their car, no problem. Have you thought about maybe mulching a couple feet around the fence to eliminate trimming the grass? I'm sure it will look great when you're finished w it. Congratulations. I think it's wonderful. 👍🚜❤️🙏🇺🇸🇺🇸

That was GREAT!! Bet those guys have NEVER had custom digging that was THAT good and that expert at any time. And I must say, your camerawoman did an excellent job covering your work on that one trench. I REALLY enjoyed those close up shots of the excavator at work. VERY interesting. Man, there is enough of a mess there to keep you tinkering for a day or two now. And you have enough gate options to get yourselves locked in (or out) for a month! LOL Thanks friends, for another wonderful video. l enjoyed this one too.

Mike,2 questions; why a separate trench along the driveway,
And how will gate operate with snow on ground ?

SWEET, Mike and Melissa !Very interesting seeing how your entrance gate was installed. Trenching was a "dream" with your excavator. A first class fencing company sure goes a long way to making sure that everything is done RIGHT !! Nice guys, too !! I'm sure you'll be the envy of the neighborhood with your new fence and entrance gates !! I know I am !! Please say "Hi" to Hunter and the entire family !!
