I think the problem is not who is Rey's family but how they tell the story. She could be a "nobody", a Kenobi, a Palpatine, etc. but the important part is how they tell that story. I was ok with Rey being a Palpatine, because it was so ironic, if Ben were still alive, that a Palpatine and a Skywalker fix what other Palpatine and Skywalker broke. The problem to me was that Palpatine came out of nowhere and the story was badly presented.

If this had been planned and well-executed from "The Force Awakens," I might have been suspicious at first, but it would have made a good ending, for the exact reasons you mentioned. Instead, it was tossed in there because that's what JJ, Terrio, and Disney wanted, and with everything else that came before, makes zero sense.
@ I wanted too Ben to live with Rey on Tatooine, or Naboo, or wherever they wanted. We have legit reasons to accuse Disney,JJ etc for this ending.But we have also to be thankful to them that they didn't let Trevorrow to direct ep.IX. In his script Kylo Ren dies UNREDEEMED . There is no mystic bond,no dyad, no coming together, no healing,no reviving, n o REYLO at all(disgusting) . Also in the early concept art of that script, Hux commits suicide with Kylo's lightsaber ( awfull).

That had all the right feels, it really represents her journey, Her love, Her weakness, Her strength and her true identity being just who she is...just rey

The shot of their hands at 4:41 with Rey saying "I did want to take your hand" gave me chills, it's the first time I've seen that being used in a TROS Reylo edit (Cuz normally people would use the hand-touching scene in TLJ and the one in TROS where Rey places her hand over Ben's when she wakes up. Nevertheless, they're all beautiful!). Lovely song choice for these two and great buildup! Their emotions in the scenes youve selected aided perfectly.

You don’t have to come from a powerful lineage to possess power. Everyone has light and dark in them. In Harry Potter there is quote: “The world isn’t split into death eaters and good people, Harry. We all have light and dark inside us, and it’s how we choose to deal with the dark that makes it count.” Wouldn’t it so much more emotional and powerful if Rey really was nobody?

This is, so far, my most favorite Reylo- video and I have seen many!! You can almost feel the tension between them.. Really good work, keep up your excellent work, I love it!
Beautifully made. I had some issues with this trilogy, but this relationship was so fresh and new to cinema and offered a lot of great opportunities and exploration. I didn’t mind seeing Ben die at the end because much of the war was his fault, but it did really irritate me that he didn’t appear as a force ghost at the end.
Mmmm, wrong. The war was not Ben's doing. It was Snoke and General Hux pulling all the strings. Ben hesitated a lot in what Hux and Snoke were doing but realistically he was powerless to tell them otherwise. That would have gotten him killed. Ben was mind manipulated by Snoke/Palpatine since he was a baby and his parents didn't understand what was happening. (Read Rise of Kylo Ren for clarification and the rest of the story) So I'll fight anybody saying that his death was justified. :/

He just got rid of his abuser and didn't want to be controlled again, by the resistance or by the first order. After a year of self reflection without Snoke in his head, he came back to Rey :) third movie was a shit show either way, but death is not what he deserved or what should have been expected after he spent his whole life in pain with no happiness.
lindaspunk We’ll agree you disagree. Yeah 3 was trash and it really bugged me because all of the characters deserves better. Plus I didn’t like how much Poe, Rey, and Finn fought with each other. The action was poor and the writing was worse. The best action scene was when Rey fought dark Rey, but then they ruined it by having it be so short and just as a stupid metaphor.
This is just a beautiful masterpiece of the whole thing. You captured it breathtakingly! This is by far my favorite of all and works as a perfect explanation to anyone confused. It was always about Rey and Ben’s fit in it all. Stunning!

I just had to do one with Just Rey as the build up :) I love doing manips, especially voice ones with this couple. We get so little dialogue between them :(

He could do amazing things for the galaxy, but nobody would forget who he used to be, the past is a scar, it can fade, but it will never fully disappear.

He could do amazing things for the galaxy, but nobody would forget who he used to be, the past is a scar, it can fade, but it will never fully disappear.
