The problem you have with a high level pro boxer is that unless you wrestle them or can kick and move, you're never winning a striking match
Yeah a smart fighter would have kept the distance and chopped away with the leg kicks
Clinch them and elbow/knee

Except striking is kicking, elbows knees as well, Not in K-1 where Shannon competed but everywhere else like Muaythai or MMA, you cant strike as a boxer, your getting kneed and kicked in and out fighting. Many of the looks boxers give don't work in fighting. Just the basics mastered, jab cross hook upper. Not even the pivoting or anything else its all just openings and exposer to someone that can fight fully. A terrible example that a boxing fan might know; how easily Connor got behind Floyd in that shiet boxing match, time and time again, looking away with a high guard just dont work in fighting. Thats end of the fight. And Connor is mediocre. Unless you mean, you can't beat a high level pro boxer in boxing....then duhh.

Buakaw is small, he wouldn’t be in the ring with a man that size
Props to him for stepping into that. Kickboxer needs to stick to his strengths. If he’d just kicked the legs a few more times and not engaged in close punches he pbly could have done whatever he wanted.
