yes, because 2x of encore is 200w. (1x is 100w) And the club 120 is only at 160w. so 40 watts difference. so 2x of the encore is louder but and you can have two of them around a room to fill the area up. but, for the price for two, its much higher than one of the club 120 even though it has 200w together. i would pick the club 120 because it is much more easier to bring around not just bring two speakers. but the club 120 has 40hz at its lowest. the encore only has 50hz. 10 hz difference. it will impact the listening expericene dramatically. 10hz its alot so that you can feel and get a deeper bass out of the two woofers. and with a bonus option, the club 120 has a removable battery so that if it wears out or if the battery runs of charge, you can simply change it out with a new and a fully charge one, only if you have an extra battery for the club 120. another bonus is that the club 120 is slightly lighter than 2 of the encore. the club 120 weighs about 24.36 lb / 11.05 kg and 2 of the encore weighs in about 27.78 Ib / 12.6 kg. so the club 120 wins by 3.42 Ib / 1.55 kg. so which one will you pick?
I just love the sound of that 120. Sounds more natural and clear, yet at the same time, powerful and can get boomy if you need it to. Also one 120 is def cheaper than 2 encores. by a decent amount for that matter. In fact one encore aint that different in price than a 120 depending on the season and sales etc I would imagine
The Club 120 has better mids and the battery can easily be replaced. Big advantages for me. Overall the 120 seems to be the better choice for Rock and Metal.
Got my first one at a Walmart for $150, went back a week later the last one had a clearance sticker for 100 bucks. took one to work and took the other one put it in the house and yet still have not had a chance to pair them yet.
GREAT JOB JAY I LOVE THE TWO ENCORES THEY MATCH UP WITH THE 120!!! I WOULD HAVE LOVED TO GET THE TWO ENCORES FOR $150 EACH!!! THANKS FOR SHARING JAY👍🏽👍🏽
I got it for $150 walmart in las vegas. I thought about buying like ten to resell😂

I'm listening through an inferior speaker but the Club 120 may sound better plus have a better build quality. Then again stereo and microphones is a thing too. I don't know the details and if this is accurate but isn't it something like if you use two speakers rather than one you could theoretically double the volume / sound pressure / whatever but you of course also have to power said two speakers rather than one and if you have an amp and some speaker setup you could push in more power. But I don't remember what the result was, was it like two cones with same power consumption would be like about 3 dB louder?
@@JaysStraightUpReviews the kind of modularity JBL never expected 😂 And regarding the video, I did not expect the Encore Stack to perform that well, damn
I really like those encores!! Plus I can use one to jam small stuff 😜!! I remember you did it against the blast 🎉, to bad i had already bought the BLAST!!! Lmfao 😂😂😂
That was something I didn't like, removing the side feet on the newer models Partyboxes. You can still lay the new models like the 120 on it's side, you just don't have the stability of the side feet.
I wish they would come out with an slightly larger Encore XL, with a 6.5" woofer instead of a 5.25" woofer like the current Encore. Up the battery life, amp power, hole in bottom for pole mount and have the JBL logo in the middle of the grille light up with the rest of the lights. 😆
@@VRJ-k8qthe battery life is bad, but depending on what you need it might not matter. I have an Encore Essential in a backpack made for it. And I use it when I cruise around on my electric scooter. The Essential has much worse battery life than the regular Encore. But I never ride for more than an hour or 2 tops so the battery life’s fine for me. And there’s no other speaker that sounds even close to as good that I can use like I do.
Is just like my boombox 3 rated at 24 hours, but at max volume at continuous play it only last me 3 hours… the 24 hours is probably when the volume is at 30% volume
I bought two of these JBL Encores for 150 bucks each at Walmart the only thing I did not like it only has one aux port in the back so I could not Daisy chain four of them together and if you could daisychain them together I would’ve bought four of them things total at $150 each but you can only plug in one hole in the back that’s their only problem if they had an in and an out port so unfortunately hooking up for speakers was out of the question. However this was a great video because what I paid for both of these JBL encores is cheaper than a single 110 that I am still seeing priced at 349- 379 in the store which is way over priced for that speaker especially when I was seeing the 310’s for $369 each on clearance.
@@JaysStraightUpReviews oh ok I have actually never used the microphones but I did notice that then JBL encores are unique speakers when in a bigger room they are OK but you put them in a small room a few inches away from the wall and that rear bass port really bounces the bass off of the wall and throws it around the room and the bass out of both of them little speakers it’s pretty incredible. Especially to be a small as they are and what else I’ve noticed is the further you get away from the speakers you hear the bass more than up close. . If I’m 5 feet in front of them they sound pretty good but if I’m sitting on the bed which is at point I’m about 12 feet away it’s like they have more bass and can feel it bounce off of the head board I’m against and a pretty wide soundstage and even when you get off axis the sound still spreads out pretty good , which is better than the other ONN speakers inside have that they were a little louder but the highs were not quite as crisp and Side of the speaker it’s like the sound really starting to drop off. After having them for almost 3 weeks I took them back at the end of January and ended up getting these encores. Of course the pair of 710s I have in the main room it does not matter where I put them they’re going to definitely bring the volume and the bass , however I had to move them away from the wall because I had them about 10 inches from the wall and it kept knocking picture frames off😂😂😂. So far I have knocked a clock broke off the wall and broke it and cracked a picture frame so they truly are a homewrecker as you say L O L. I have a recliner and they ( the 710’s ) sit about 10 feet in front of me spread about 10 feet apart so it sounds pretty awesome in here. 😎
Jay, I get the impression you enjoy the sound of the Encores a little better than a single 120. I've tried my 2 Encores stacked also. Of course they sound much better when they're side by side 5-10 feet apart. We'd love to see you do a video with the two Encores several feet apart vs the one 120. In that setup, the two Encore's wider sound stage and stereo separation may be enough to take the cake. Thanks.
If you use 2 Encores, you will not have to turn them up as much as if you use a single one. That way you will not only have more bass at the same volume, but each Encore will also use less power and the batteries will last longer.

Because it's 4 tweeters vs 2 on the 120
Those little encores are the truth. I picked up 3 encores during that Walmart sale. $150 each
I picked mine for $192 each, I grabbed em.

I must have had the camera at just the right spot to where the lights were giving it focus fits. Usually this is not an issue.

The 120’s lights are odd and basically enhance the JBL emblem. Kinda like the encore lighting over the club.
Sure, just personal preference. I do wish JBL had retained the lights around the tweeters that the 110 had.
This is such a weird setup 😂 (in a good way) great creativity for this video

no

Problem with the encore is the awful battery life
The Encore is rated 10 hours, while the new Partybox 120 is rated 12 hours. Not a big difference
