- Hi, in this video I attempt to repair 3 broken toys purchased faulty from eBay.

My younger sister had a dog like this variant I remember she got tired of it and made an autopsy of it. She was only 5 at the time nice memories.
Me imagining Vince being that caring toy repair guy from a toy story movie fixing up toys and making them new again.
I had the Tomy when I was a child. In Italy it was marketed as "Tricky Traps" which I think sounds better than "Aaaaaaaagh". I loved it! I'm 37 now. Where did the life go?
In Spain it was also branded as Tricky Traps! I still have it at home and it works perfectly 😄 I'm 31 years old btw
I had this toy too when I was young... Turn 40 in Feb - where did time go indeed! 🤔
It was also called trip over traps

If you ever need a spring in the future. You can take it out of a pen.
Then you can’t use the pen.
My Mate Vince's Veterinary practice:
"My Dog can't seem to bark"
"Alright well let's take the head off completely"
There are springs in writing pens you might be able to use
You're right, i was thinking the same thing.
The post was broken too so this fix bypassed that.

Recommendation:
You should do a “Trying to fix” on a Reel-To-Reel Tape recorder!

I always get nervous whenever I see a repair video with a toy dog in it. I have a soft spot for cute doggos and it hurts my heart to see them not working in any way. Thank you for always trying to give them a new life!

70s and 80s electronic toys cost as much in batteries as the toy did .great vid vince
A matchbox car as old as me I was born in 1979 fantastic to see the electronics from my era still working, unlike my knees and back

I had that Tomy game, remember it being really hard. It died on a summer's day in a hot car when the top layer literally melted.
You could use a spring from a pen, just modify to your needs

My sister had that little dog in thr 80s. Company definitely got sold or branding brought in 2000s.

Ah man! The Tomy Aaaaaagh wasted hours and hours of my youth. It was one of the first toys I took apart as a kid. Still got the bits somewhere but I'd be surprised if the spring was still there. Will have to have a look. Great video, matey.

I don’t know if you have them already, but I use 5star big tubs of alcohol based wipes? I use them on my refurbs. Awesome video as always! 🤗
I think a lot of these toys were very battery hungry and even if parents could fix them, they just proclaimed them unfixable rather than fork out constant batteries. Certainly my dad was of that school. My little sister had a very similar doggy which If I remember rightly had a metal armature but no plastic outer, just the metal and the loose coat thing. hers walked forwards wagging and would back up when it barked.
3 out of 3 very well. The controls for the car are really odd for today. It's like a remote control for a TV. The Dog looks cute. The "Aaaarrrgghh".. I see what they did there. It looks like the most fun out of those three and it gave us the "yyyeesss!!"
I have the original vintage dog toy from the 70s, and he still works perfectly.
LOL! Love that first fix and the end - you won!!! Those look great fun! I read that first one as Dodgy Pal lol - had to look twice! Poor fella was squeeling when you took him to bits lol! When you removed the fur from its body and left its head dangling, it looked like something from The Thing - the stuff of nightmares lol! Another great fix - quite good that dog for a small child! Lovely fixes!

great work vince. enjoyed watching. that car though, you'll have to get a second job to keep the battery supply up. Considering ho you put that little yapping pup back together I'd suggest looking into taxidermy. WIth added electonics.

Spray furniture polish works well for freeing up parts and reducing friction as it is silicone-based and leaves everything slippery and shiny

Upped a cracking Pulsar Kinetic and Seiko 7009 vid tonite worth a watch as I knows you like a Seiko and all a Pulsar is, is a Seiko in different guise :)
That Porsche would have been supercool toycar in 1979 and the 80s ☺ Remote controller looks a bit like Mattel Intellivision game controller, which were hardwired to the console.
I think if you sale them all someone will buy them even the dog to me the dog works better then it did from the factory and went back together so nice. Nice job and thank you for the videos you and your family have a Marry Christmas and god bless you all

I love some of these 80s toys, I rebought several including Kong, arrrrgh and a pinball one (can't remember exact names) but one thing I forgot was how noisy they were/are, I wish it was possible to make them mechanically quieter

Love the Matchbox remote control car. If you ever sold it I'd buiy it.
The 1st blue cog is in wring place, when you refit it the white base was in top position. The blue cog should stop the ball from going to next level untill it does it's rotation.

Vince, do you ever sign or leave a mark signifying it's you inside the things you repair? I'm kind of fascinated with how watch repairers sign their name inside sometimes so no one can see it except other repair people!
Cheap ballpoint pens often have tough springs.
Any chance of a shout out to my boy jake. He's your biggest fan he will be 5 on 27 Dec. I have no idea how he found your videos but he's been watching them all for the last year! I don't mind as you never swear and its a great thing to be interested in. He pretends to be you (well he says 'my mate jake') 😂 and explains how he is going to fix his toys etc its brill. He can also tell you every different cable there is and what its for and as a treat I will but him different ones to play with. All the best for Christmas x
Mmm i would love to get a schematics of the car with remote. Will it be too hard for you to copy them from PCBs?
The O ring is a little too strong for the last red obstacle as it flies off and shouldn't hence why you can't get to the end. You need a weaker one. The reason being is that hole on the obstacle. As I remember having one I know that the hole would not really send it flying like that when it snapped back but instead knocked the ball into the next hole for the final wheel.
i may be wrong but, on the first toy you repair."aghhhhh" to me it looks like the top left blue gear is on the wrong tooth? it all sounds like its moving freely..then that blue spindle stops before the rest the motor then becomes under load ...(pitch changes) it then sort of jumps then continues till the same point..... what you think?...well done anyway !
That dog was just perfect without the bark.
In my opinion you broke it and it found some unholy force within to yelp for help.
I hope you at least find a safe container and storage far away from children for it and dont unleash it upon the world.

15V? Oh, all the batteries. Nah, it's most likely 6V (the four AA) and the 9V would power the IR circuitry.

I really liked the first one. I went straight to ebay to search for one to give to my nephews but they're quite expensive. I wonder if there's a similar cheaper version nowadays. The video was great! The doggy sounded like it forgot to take his daily xanax!
