This channel reminds me of The Repair Shop too! I’m much younger and in the US, but my father is British and watches shows from back home very often, and I see enough snippets to make the comparison. I love the care that the people of The Repair Shop put into the items they restore, and the same goes for this channel.

It is hard to imagine it nowadays with all our technology and plastics and throw-away society- but just picturing a child getting this as a gift back "in the day"- it must have been amazing. Bright colors, shiny metal, heavy, multiplayer, a mechanism that makes the horses absolutely fly around the track, betting against your friends... I bet this was a favorite toy for many years.
Looks like a great Hobby not to mention that it seems like it could be very profitable! This looks like it can be sold to a collector for a very high value

Would an electron sputtering machine be capable of putting down a good enough layer or would it just be too soft especially for a coin dish?

For example, a great success is not to add music or elements that are distracting. The sounds of the brushes, hammers, sandpapers and other tools that you use in your restorations have something magical that relaxes a lot. Absolutely BEAUTIFUL. I tip my hat to your skill and dedication towards the finished product, it's better than new. What's more is I've never seen one of those toys in my 60 plus years, but upon a time some youngster sure received a great present there.
These restoration guys never cease to amaze me with their craftsmanship acumen. Every time I see the beginning of one of these videos where they show the old rusted, beat up and damaged item, all I see is garbage; while they see potential. I really wish I had the eye, understanding and capability to do these restorations; it seems like a really neat and rewarding hobby.

Why? It wouldn't have changed anything. All you need to do is wear a mask and you should do that anyway well and make sure to keep any dust damp so it can be wiped up.

I love how you took the time to deburr several of the parts, you took it beyond a restoration, to an improved version of the original object. That may be a big no no in art conservation/restoration, but in this cases like this 👍👍.
This is some amazing work. But one think i always find tricky when watching restoration videos is how much is too much. At what point is it no longer the original and at what point is too much of its history lost. When you look at it before hand, all the wear and tear, it obviously tells a story about what and how much its been used.

Your work is outstanding and the items you refurbish are unique and interesting. And I think you have found the correct balance of how much of your work to show in your videos. I feel that I know all of the steps you have taken, and I am never tempted to fast forward. Great Job!

My Mom always LOVED horse racing; it’s a pity there wasn’t a game like this available back when she was alive. Have the thrill of horse racing on a rainy/stormy day and NOT have to go to the track! 😃🐎🏆

I love how you took the time to deburr several of the parts, you took it beyond a restoration, to an improved version of the original object. That may be a big no no in art conservation/restoration, but in this cases like this 👍👍.
You should always twist a jump ring or chain and never pull it apart. 10:40

This is some amazing work. But one think i always find tricky when watching restoration videos is how much is too much. At what point is it no longer the original and at what point is too much of its history lost. When you look at it before hand, all the wear and tear, it obviously tells a story about what and how much its been used.
When the machine was first made, was it all worn??
He literally used the same nails as the original. it is a perfect restoration that honors and revives the piece
