    This video reminded me why I’ve wanted a GTI since my first drive in 1983. Thanks

    This is easily the best demonstration of driving I’ve seen in the mark 8 with manual. Anxiously waiting for mine to arrive in the US sometime in the next few weeks.

      Ive had a white si for the past 6 years. Dont know if i wanna keep going with the clean white, my favorite color on a car or switch it up with the black pearl and then obviously get some blacks wheels right after🤔. I guess whatever is closer and available at the time im ready to buy later this year. Gonna be tough for me

    VW could save a lot of hassle on test drives by just putting customers in a dark room in front of a big screen with this video....

    Great video and nice drive! I was under the impression that only North America was getting the MK8 GTI in a manual. Beautiful countryside too!

    The rev matching sounds sweet man! Does this have automatic rev matching or you have to manually rev match? Also, if you were manually rev matching while downshifting, You first press the clutch and then downshift then blip the throttle and finally leave the clutch or do you first press the clutch, blip the throttle and downshift and leave the clutch?

    • @DrivingCars
      @DrivingCars  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      no, it's not automatic. i jump on the clutch, then gas pedal and donwshift in one time, then release the clutch

    • @vedantbhalgama3531
      @vedantbhalgama3531 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@DrivingCars Oh! So the blipping comes first and then the downshift, And you release the clutch slowly or just take off your foot quickly

    • @GioVargasMachuca
      @GioVargasMachuca ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@vedantbhalgama3531 Yea, the blipping comes first and then release the clutch at a normal speed, not too slow because you don't want the raves to go back down again.

      @abdullaharif6455 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@vedantbhalgama3531I believe you have to clutch in first, then blip throttle and move shifter to lower gear at the same time (not one before the other), then release the clutch.

      je to tak, jak píše Paradox, je to prostě přímovstřik, kterej má drsnější projev. Uvnitř to ale vlastně poznat tolik neni.

    If I take care of the car, can it last me 10 years? I've already had Japanese cars.

    • @DrivingCars
      @DrivingCars  ปีที่แล้ว

      i think so

    • @Superbustr
      @Superbustr ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don't see why it wouldn't last 10 years. I have a Golf GTI MK5 bought in 2008 and have owned it since new. It's coming up to 15 years old and the car works great still.
      The main thing that wears down Golfs is leaving them outside for years as that speeds up the ageing of the rubber seals. Golfs are good to about 200k kilometres; then will need an overhaul to keep them running well.
