Joe the Barracuda is looking straight. Nice work. That shrinkage is unbelievable. I thought that the car and all of the work that you had done looked good before. This is next level body work for sure.💯👍 Thanks for sharing the process. Have a great weekend. 👍🇺🇸👍

Hey Joe, Tim here....yes i have followed the entire time.....u are VERY close to puttin color on.. I know basically NOTHING about body work (understand a few things as I paint my car models).....but not at this scale, so I actually ENJOY watching u do ur thing.. I'm an engine builder.... but for me, this is PRICELESS content!!...just GREAT!!.. THAT '68 Baracuda is gonna look just LOVELY!!..... I ENJOY WATCHING THE ATTENTION TO DETAIL!!......gotta say, MERRY CHRISTMAS, and a HAPPY NEW YEAR to you and ALL of urs!!.....PEACE my brother!!
There may be many different ways of doing this, but I hope I can find someone with your dedication and attention to detail when I get my project painted.
Bodywork looks great! Good call on the sealer. With the red there is a very good chance that the light and dark primer would show through. And definitely want to prime over any exposed metal or putty.
Did I just watch a 22 minute video on sanding? Yup, sure did. 🙂 Really nice 2nd gen Fish are actually pretty rare to come by. This one will add to that for sure. - Ed on the Ridge
That's what I said. It probably was never this straight when the old gentlemen (original owner) bought it new in 1968 in Tennessee. What Joe is doing is taking the car (and me) back in time to what it actually looked like but even better with Joe's fantastic attention to detail.
Wood stoves give off such nice dry heat, love mine! I know there probably isn’t much for bugs there right now but how do you manage bugs when painting in the summer time? They’re one of my biggest problems when trying to paint anything in the summer months, get them lights shining on the car and the bugs all congregate to the lights even with the garage shut up I can’t keep them all out. And then what after one lands in the fresh wet paint?
This old dusty shop does get some bugs. I have set off bug bombs, with the car covered in plastic, but a few bug zapper lights have to help. I’ve got a pair of tweezers for loose bugs, but Bryan told me he had a fly walk all the way across a roof before in the clear coat 🤣

What would be the real time it takes to do this amount of work?
It depends on the person and their practices. Also the car. I would guess a couple hundred man hours

Paint n body work is no easy task, if you're doing it right.
Tons of labor hours

No 😂

That's why bodywork and paint are so expensive. Tons of man hours.
It sure is a lot of work!
