1) LiAlH4 reduction of benzoic acid to benzaldehyde or benzyle alcohol?
2)total reduction of alcohol to alcane?(benzyle alcohol to toluene for example)
3)NaBH4 reductive alkilation of amines by carbonic acids used as solvent

Sir u made a mistake please correct it......Dibal h does not reduce carboxylic acid or keto groups......it can only reduce groups having a hard base connected to the carbon as a leaving or subtituent group (i mean it might be the main fuctional group as well)Cheers.

The Prince Priyam the nitrogen in cyanide group gets transformed to amine group. Nitrogen atom is retained in the product also but the functional group changes after reduction that is it.

Manpreet Kukreja yes double bond is reduced by LAH at high temp or room temp. At low temp only carbonyl group is reduced.
