I think the net effect of Hope’s testimony hurts Trump’s defense. Just because Hope says that Trump was worried about how his family would feel does not give an alternative motivation for Trump in what he did. It actually boxes Trump in his defense. Trump now has difficulty with saying he wasn’t aware of the payoffs before the election which has been his stance.
This is the only take on what the testimony was about from about 100 that I’ve listened to since Friday that thinks that testimony was anything but devastating for Trump. I can see their nose is getting longer as they speak.

Hope Hicks testified AGAINST Trump, not for him. She testified hearing Trump conspiring to cheat in the 2016 election.
There is no reason to throw out this case. The evidence of the conspiracy are solid. We have Trump recorded on tape conspiring. We have his signatures, multiple testimonies of his own people, and others already were sent to jail for this conspiracy. We know Trump committed the crimes, all that remains to see is if one jury member will block the process or not. If one does, it will be a hung jury, and the trial will have to restart with a new jury. But Trump won't get a non-guilty verdict. That's just not an option in this case.
