Rewatching this as I recently just “felt” like maybe I wasn’t sitting at my optimal draw length. This was initially set for me by a bow tech and at the time I didn’t know any better. So I went from 28” to 28.5 on my cams, remeasured peeps, sights etc. and I feel much better in drawing and holding my bow. I believe I’m holding better on target, but probably need more arrows down range yet.
It depends on what kind of bow you have. If it's one where you'd have to buy mods to change the length....anywhere from $20-$40. (Different manufacturers charge different amounts for the mods. On some bows, you'd actually have to buy a whole new cam to change the length, and that could be $80) If your bow just has a rotating mod that we can adjust, then it's $15.
Hello :) Could i get a tip from you?! Cus i have a question for draw lenght... I am complete newguy in archery 😅 ... The question:"I have a draw lenght of 27,2 inch should i buy 28 inch or 28.5 inch arrows and sould i set my bow draw lenght on 27 or 28 inch". 😅🙃🙂 Thank you in advance
my bow is 27 inch draw minimum but i need to get it to a 26 inch draw for me little more is ok but how many twist do you do and how much will id reduce draw legnth?
Robinson....First we would need to know which bow you have. We would only recommend twisting cables or the string if you're looking to adjust by less than a half inch. Twisting is really only for very fine tuning of the draw length. If you notice in this video, John twisted his string to shorten his draw by 1/4 inch. If you need to shorten by a half inch or more, we'd recommend you change mods or cams to get to that length. If you twist to get to it, you'll be adversely affecting the bow.
....and I said we would need to know which bow, because if you are talking about an older bow....like 20 years....then you could possibly twist to shorten by up to 1 inch. For newer bows, we would not recommend twisting.

Which cam do I add twist to? Top cam or Bottom cam? And do I add twist on both cables?
Won’t adding twists to your cables change the cam timing?
On a 38 ata , how many twists is too many? I feel like an 1/8 shorter would be perfect
i would like to hear info for people with extra long draw length like 32 in plus .
hey what would it cost to get my draw length adjusted by your shop. I am in your area but have never been there before

27in draw, I'd say 28in arrow until you wanna shorten
Great video. I'm 6'4" and my wingspan is 82", and I have a 32.8inch draw length. Who sells a compound bow in my size? I appreciate the help.
If it’s a 32.8 draw you’re supposed to round up, so your draw length is 33”
Hoyt makes extended draw length bows up to 33 inch draw lengths.
