I’m only attacking him because I’m secretly jealous 🥲

lmaooo i feel you on food costs with the bf. i def got the short end of the stick on food costs in my last relationship but i considered it a bf tax 😂😂
totally understand your separation of social activities vs eating out alone. makes a ton of sense with your spending priorities this year. personally i like to categorize any food out as food out period, regardless of the reason/intention. i find that data more helpful for myself right now (also i clearly do not have a super lively social life rn lmao). but i did used to have a separate SAVINGS category for social spending that i had planned to use to fund any spending that i did with friends, but i would just move the social money to the food out category if that's what it was spent on. for whatever reason i think i prefer to SAVE with specific intention (because i know that my variable categories will ebb and flow depending on whatever season of life i'm in) but SPEND it out of a specific category rather than categorizing the spending as whatever the intention was. also makes it easier for me to categorize things without thinking too much. 😂
love getting to hear about little snippets of your life! congrats on the bf! 😊

Awww thanks for watching. You are the best!! When I started this channel it was supposed to be half YNAB videos and half vlogs. I feel like I’m getting closer to starting vlogging.
I actually like the idea of saving for social but spending in eating out. I need to get better at using hash tags in memos to capture when purchases have overlapping groups too

i would LOVE to see vlogs! i was thinking maybe when i am in oregon in april i could incorporate some vloggish POV clips into my budget with me vids to show how i'm spending my time/money.
and yes! i realized after i commented that i was basically explaining a "holding" category haha. i get a kick out of your memo notes. i need to start using the memo field more regularly but i get overwhelmed thinking of keeping memos maintained/organized for future reference. one day!

It looks like splitting social eating from I-don’t-want-to cook eating is helpful. Plus, isn’t it wonderful to have over $500 to invest in your relationships? Living well and budgeting with finesse!

Yea that division is helpful to me rn since I still do get bouts of not wanting to cook. Investing in relationships is a good way to think about it. While I’m a bit shocked by how things added up, I’m glad I met great people and have set myself up to roll with these punches :))
