man… knowing that there’ll no longer be any type of Blackberry device news, or updates, of any kind, anymore, makes me extremely sad. You were the only one to cover any updates, or speculations, on anything and everything Blackberry and I cannot thank you enough for that. Even if nothing Blackberry saw the light of day, I was, at least, still able to hold out hope because of you and your channel, and for that I am extremely appreciative. Now it’s just like a genuinely enjoyable aspect/time of my life has been discarded and replaced with something unreliable, disappointing, fragile, overpriced and frustrating. I don’t want to have anything to do w anything other than Blackberry, but, unfortunately, I no longer have any other choice. Please don’t ever take down any of your older Blackberry videos. They’re, honestly, all I have left😢
While it no longer has a SIM card, I use my Key2 religiously. It was painful to migrate to an S21 last January, but I did it. Still not used to the haptic keyboard. Until 2022 my backup was the BB Classic. For some reason it died. RIP. I went back and forth between Key2 and S21, but in the end migrated to the latter. We need a sane billionaire to design and build a Key3 based on your specs. I'd buy it in an instant! Keep it coming, Adam!
Good reminder of why I left CB forums: these types of discussions always got shut down by the old guard there, even though OPs made it clear that this was daydreaming/hypothetical like you're saying. Breath of fresh air to watch your videos. Thanks, as always. KeyOne BE was the only BB Android phone I owned, and it was wonderful.
I really liked my Key 2, and the passport for a while. However, the best BB for me was the Classic. If anyone made a new BB, a slightly bigger version of the Classic would be the way to go. OR...a slide out keyboard, but in landscape mode.
I couldn't agree with you more!!! I use my Key 2 daily and keep hoping someone would make a deal and start making these again. Adding all those upgrades you were talking about would be Amazing.
Great video. Love whenever you get back into talking blackberry. I definitely share that dream, this would be my ideal phone. The only hope i have of actually seeing this happen is if over the next years unihertz continues to up their game and keep refining until they come out with something that at least gets close. I mean the titan slim was definitely not it, but it was such a leap ahead from the previous model that it did get me excited to see what they'll come up with next. It's either that or hoping that billionaire on his couch saw your video and got inspired :)
Can someone explain to me why the blackberry keyboard swipe up gesture is simply gone? Why can't someone replicate. There was one at one point. It was the best on screen keyboard.
Bro, I'm so with you, the key1 with the innards of the key 2 and some upgrades....... I'm still on my key2, love it.... A Key23 could garner some long term sales if done right.....pipe dreams, but doesn't sound impossible... Thanks for the video!! Look forward to em!
Thank you Adam for speaking Blackberry vibes. I would like 2 options. Your Updated keyone option sounds great but a slider phone that gives you the best of both worlds.
The Unihertz Titan Slim is a decent alternative. Yes, I have the BB Keyone BE, and I still love it, but in my opinion the TS is more appropriate for 2022, and yes again, I do have the TS and it is my daily driver these days. Thanks for keeping the flame alive with regards to Blackberry phones.
If this new dream BlackBerry is bezel-less (and maybe just a hair taller) it could have the same screen area as the screen area that is within the bezels on the Priv. That would be amazing. Regarding the KEYone Keyboard: it is too stiff. (I have the original KEYone with 3 gigs. Is the updated one better?) The KEY2 Keyboard is much better to type on. So I would definitely want the KEY2 Keyboard. I am so glad you mentioned the headphone jack. I use mine every day. Typed on my KEY2.
8:15 I would prefer a Priv2 with the specs you mentioned and the key2 keyboard. Also the 3 app swipe from center was awesome on the Priv and wasn't properly replaced with the convenience key due to the extra step required to open one of the 3 apps. Priv allowed the user to swipe from center (up, left, right) and release to launch app.
My favorite phone was the passport. If they could rollout a new passport with updated processors and camera with the android OS (I actually prefer BB10 to android but since there were no apps for BB10 then I had to capitulate there too) that would be great. That was my favorite phone by far followed by the Key2. I don't know why OnwardMobility took so long before running out of time when they could have just take the old designs and updated the chips and camera. BlackBerry diehards would have flocked to that. I tried a Samsung when my Key2 died and hated it so much I went out and got a used Key2. The lady in the store told me those sell quickly because the diehards are still out there.
When you start talking Blackberry again, I'm all ears. My KeyOne BE has been my daily user for going on 6 years now. Have a Titan Slim (and a Pocket) as backups, but don't touch them as long as my BE is still working. Thanks for keeping the BB dialogue going, and YES, I heartily agree with your dream wishes for a 2023 KeyOne with the most superlative keyboard experience out there!
Great video, Adam, as always! It seems there's a community still pining for a new BlackBerry in 2023. Would you ever take it upon yourself to start a petition to let someone over there know we're still here and not satisfied with the modern day slabs of the day? Either way, these BlackBerry videos are retro and fresh at the same time. Please keep fighting for the loyalists and that delish PKB :)
They can still have the buttons, but software buttons that show up on the bottom of the screen and not dedicated built in ones making the bezel bigger.
What was the last version of Android the Key2 was upgraded to? The Japan 100-9 model of the Key2 is still selling for a big kvsd $500 used wihh 128GB storage and 6GB of RAM but I was never a diehard physical keyboard guy to she'll that kind of money on such an old phone.
compleatly agree.... i lost my key one when i sent it in for repair and they seny me a key 2.... but yes... the moderen day version of this phone... i would use it for ever!!!

@@TechOdyssey, to add more 'fun', I have been replacing my KEY2 chassis from severly worn black to brand new red one yesterday. And I have ruined the space key. It does work as a fingerprint scanner, but it's dead as a space key. :(
You actually got me into Blackberrys. I have a few Passports and Key2s. Granted they have passed their prime. One can dream and Thank-you for saying it aloud. We will never get the perfect phone. There is always one glitch or setback that makes us wince. I live with the flip4 for now. I had every version. It is just a fun phone to use.
I still use KeyOne. The last time Mr. Chen was talking about BlackBerry, he was like he liked typing on the PKB, and was like who knows.... So, a little string of hope there!

I would love to see Blackberry make a comeback but I think that ship has sailed. I have the Unihertz Titan that I use for work and it's not even close to a Blackberry.
I'd like to see your thoughts on the Fxtec Pro 1x, it finally seems to be shipping and it looks like the only keyboard phone with solid specs and a reasonable screen out there. Though it is clearly no BlackBerry. It kinda reminds me of the first keyboard phone I had made by HTC, that had a horizontal slide feature to reveal the Keyboard.
Honestly I’m done with those guys. I was in talks with them last year and they reached out and asked if I would cover the phone and I told them I would and then they kept making excuses and never sent me anything and then disappeared and ghosted me. I won’t be buying one to cover, so likely a video won’t be happening. I’m sorry.
I just got home from my rotation to Poland and I had the black edition but my ATT version only had 3/32 for the first couple months it was fine but after that turned to straight trash, such a shame
I liked the key 2 but priv was by far my fave due to screen realastate. And option to not have keyboard. A modern priv would be great. But now I shockingly actually like the on screen keyboard on the pixel 7 pro. But if they did a priv like concept I might just go back. Otherwise no. My bbkey 2 definitely still works though.
Priv is a legendary phone and the last of a true BlackBerry phone. Built and designed by BlackBerry and the first true Android phone that was supposed to save BlackBerry. It's a shame fans didn't give it a chance.
There is no other option as there's no apps. BB 10 was the last smartphone OS plus Windows phone which shut down long ago. In the end as any industry matures it coalesce into a two horse race 🐴 so there's no room for a 3rd OS.
Adam, I'm here with my popcorn waiting for the day to come when you can reveal what Onward were cooking. When you make that video, it's going to have huge views! What is an NDA from a company that doesn't exist worth in today's dollars 😀📱
Still I like the key2, but I have to recognize that I miss the grip and the keyboard of the Classic, much better that the Android ones, in my opinion. Maybe a combination of the best of each and no pretensions to be the more fancy or cool, just practic and secure with the correct chip and no more. But with the soul of Blackberry behind and his quality.
I remember Samsung making a snap-on keyboard for the S8 line maybe it was the S9. I almost feel like in this day and age it would be relatively easy to convert any Android with a proper snap-on keyboard.
Hey, Adam, now you might be able to design your ideal BlackBerry phone! BlackBerry recently sold their mobile phone patents. Not to beat a dead (zombie?) horse, but...your thoughts on the chance now of a resurrected "BlackBerry" phone? Or will it still remain just a dream?
I still love and use my Key One, 5 years and counting. I get more battery life than my husband with his Samsung S22, but I would like a software upgrade and a better camera.
Who actually owns the patents to Blackberry phones - particularly the Key 1 and Key 2. These are both still excellent phones and if they were loaded with the ideas described here along with the keyboard we all love then there would be an excellent PKB phone for people to use. When they Key2 came out it was better than anything else on the market at that time. So come on Mr SOMEONE. Let a company like Unihertz or on eof the other niche manufacturers use the patents. Surely there's money to be made for the patent holder too - otherwise they are simply sitting on the shelf gathering dust???
Well the makers of key 1&2 wanted to do an update but no license. BlackBerry sold all their patents so not sure who opens the rights to it now but they're not doing anything with it. Honestly they should release the patents for free to anyone who wants to make BlackBerry as a service to fans. The market is very small so makers can't afford to buy patents.
I always respect your opinion, but I disagree about the Priv keyboard. I actually found that keyboard to be pretty good, though it did take a bit of getting used to. I can understand the idea of a new company trying to keep thinks cheap by avoiding the side feature.
That’s fine. I know quite a few people that did like it. I did not. But that’s every BlackBerry keyboard. Every one of them has their fans and non-fans. I found it to be inferior to traditional keyboards.
Thanks for the video! Since my Priv gave up functioning, I have been using Pixel 6 which I think is a great phone. Physical keyboard however will always be missed... Is there any place on the Planet I could buy a working BB Key 1 (Black edition) or Key 2? I would be happy to own one as my secondary phone.

What????? Bcz u made several videos saying that the BlackBerry KEY2 LE was "the best BlackBerry typing experience" "had the best keyboard" etc I searched high & low & bought a new KEY2 LE (from China) on eBay in 2022 -- now u r saying that actually the Key1 is ur favorite? This is very confusing
I really lost something in my heart when BB died .. but this is just brand and brand management lied to us and they destroyed company, so if they don’t care why we have to care? My opinion is best than BBOS theres was on market and never will be , IOS is crap totally crap ! But otherwise now we BB fans became IOS users, BB lost war and that’s it. I still hope a comeback!
Thanks for your video!
Congratulations!
Want to agree about CB.
I would love to see the phones come back too. Only if there was a way to bring the company back... smh. If I ever win the lottery I would invest the whole thing.

Only if it's BB10. :)

What exactly do you think BB did wrong? That they couldn't stay competitive and eventually quit.
Apple’s iOS in a blackberry bold. 🥺
Thanks for the warning. 😹
Any time!
I love blackberries too but nobody is talking about how Samsung is ripping off their style minus a keyboard.
What style might that be?
@@TechOdysseythe S22 could have easily been a black berry and the S20 with their boxy designs. Once apple got rid of keyboards Blackberry was dead.
Have you heard something on the grapevine
Blackberry is the past
I agree
But still a legendary phone.

Every F time I take my iPhone in hand I m thinking about BB …
Thanks blinddog1212
What do you think of the new F(x)tec Pro1 X? It's a new full keyboard phone. www.fxtec.com/pro1x
