    Finally somebody who knows what he's talking about - solid review!

      Thanks, I don't review boards I haven't put at least 5 days on. You don't really get to know and understand a board in a few laps on a demo day like some of these people are doing.

    Thanks for the review man, as a fellow big-footed guy, your review is very usefull!

    You might like the weston backwoods or ridgeline, both have really wide options and built for speed with a more open turn radius.

      @WilAlexander  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      For pow slayers those are good options. The Range is their only twin that's wide enough - never had luck finding them in stock.

    Great Review. Super useful thank you. I am 6ft3 with 12 boots and almost 200 pounds. I have a rossignol One Lf in 165W but I’ve been advised to forget about big boards for resorts and go more for playfulness and powder abilities. So I’m looking for a board that can carve (with no boot out) that can butter and be good to play around on the sides of the track etc. (Not necessarily park stuff) and be great in pow when those few days are here. I realize charging fast is not something I do really. Would you recommend me this board for that ? Do you have any comparisons or other models for comparisons that I can look into. I was checking the famous Nitro Team as it is quite versatile and wide but I hope it’s good in pow too with the full camber. Camrock is quite cool. Cheers anyway

      Whoever is telling you to forget about big boards for resorts is just trying to get your money. They're likely under 5'10" and never booted out on a board. There's nothing out right now that's close to this board. The closest thing to the Pow Twin is the Ride Twinpig, but that runs such a small length it's not really comparable.
      I've ridden Camber Only or Zero Camber in pow for years. Anyone telling you that you need rocker has an agenda. Rocker will likely help, but it's no substitute for skill.

    Hi Wil--great review. I'm very interested in this board and about to jump on it. I’m 6.3, 200-205 lbs (birthday suit), size 13 in snowboard boots (Thirtytwo brand). Would you recommend the 159 or 162? Generally I like shorter boards, but I’m definitely looking for float in powder. Not concerned about toe/heel drag as my current Ride Machete (wide) is a lot narrower and I’m totally fine. If anything I’d be concerned about this board being too wide, especially the 162. Penny for your thoughts-thank you!

      It will feel too wide for the first few times you ride, but once you get used to it, going to other "wide" boards feels like you're on a noodle. The 162 would fit you the way normal boards fit shorter riders. I try to match my nose/tail width to the length of my boot. So my 14's are like 34cm long, and the 162w has like a nose/tail at like 32 cm or something. Also radius makes these boards feel small so sizing up will likely give you more control at high speeds

    Just picked up this years model and was looking into it a bit more to make sure I wanted it. Then I realized you're another one-L'd Wil! lol

      Stoked to know there's another one L out there. Just rode this board a week ago with 4+ feet of snow with a cracked topsheet, board still rips.

    great review bro!! im 6.4' 95kilos & boot size 13 now i have a goliath 161w witch overall is really good and i dont know whether to switch it with the SBPT 162? what do you reckon?

    • @WilAlexander
      @WilAlexander  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      At 6'4" the tight radius on the SBPT might be a bit tight to be enjoyable for everyday riding.
      I would either size up your Goliath. The 161w the tip/tail width is only 309mm. 309mm tip width is borderline normal width. The 164w - 313mm,167w - 321mm, 172w - 324mm. 313mm is the largest wide you'll see from k2, salomon, etc offer.
      I rode the Bataleon Whatever last year 162w - 322mm and it felt good.

      @@WilAlexander spot on that is exactly my problem ! my bindings are on the widest inserts and the board feels small and me to wide on it !!! That was seriously really helpful bro 🙌🙌 thanks a lot very valuable advice

      @@WilAlexander question im kinda sold with the whatever instead of the goliath for the size and the softer feel you reckon i should go for it? im asking just because you have it

    • @WilAlexander
      @WilAlexander  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Lanz-hj1yt If your like me and like riding shorter boards, that makes sense. Goliath 172w is only 2mm wider at tip and tail than the Whatever 162w.
      Only thing you'll lose is some of the straight line speed from the longer sidecut radius in the Goliath.

    It's true the side cut radius is not the best for speed, shame

      I just wish one of these companies would make a volume shifted board with a normal sidecut.

      @@WilAlexander Have tried the Nitro Team? 162 wide or 165 wide? It's an awesome board and you can mount bindings forward to make it a true twin if you need.

    Do you think 153 will be short for 5'8" 155 lbs?

    • @WilAlexander
      @WilAlexander  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not likely, don't worry about the length on this board. The 153 will turn really sharp, but has the width of of like a 162. If anything, it might be weird to get used to getting it edge to edge in turns.

    I am 5'11 215-218lbs size 11 boot. Can I get by on a size159? or would u go to 162,

    • @WilAlexander
      @WilAlexander  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      With an 11, I'm going to say the 159.
      Best way I've found is to measure the sole of your boot. Then try to find the tip/tail width that matches.

      Entire time riding only had one boot out. It was wild because I forgot what it felt like.
