Just to clear up some confusion about how jobs are handed out in the Air Force. 60% of the people who join the Air Force will go to basic training with an Aptitude area, where you're guaranteed training in an electrical, mechanical, general, or administrative job and you'll prioritize your jobs at BMT and probably receive one of your top 3 choices. When you fill out your job list you want to do for the Air Force, in your mind, they should all be considered you're #1 pick. Don't get your heart set on one job because there are thousands of applicants and limited positions. If you get a career that's #9 on your list, it means none of the others were available. In most cases, if you receive a job from your list and don't take it, you're refusing to join the Air Force, and you join another branch.
One year and no followup....? Did you get booted? FYI for everyone else.... if you fail or otherwise drop out of your Tech School, the Air Force puts you anywhere they want. Typically you will get Security Forces.. Security Forces is where all drop outs go. Or cook.
I'm not understanding as to why you couldn't get Sensor Operator? There have been First Term Airmen slots available for quite some time. Put any flying jobs on your list?
