My prom dress was 13$ and got an endless amount of compliments on my prom night. I was proud of myself finding that deal.

Candyk its a store called Maurice’s. I live in Wisconsin so depending on where you live, if they have this store. I shopped for 2 days straight with my mom at all the “dress only” stores and everything was ridiculously priced and not unique at all. I found this dress and didn’t even check the price, tried it on, absolutely loved it, went straight to the register to buy it and they told me it was 13$!
My daughters 8th grade dance dress was $33 from Amazon. These were moms who spent well over $100! Lol Not happening with an 8th grade dance!😂😂

The crazy part is....i actually LOVED the black dress on you. It was fitting, edgy, modern, and slightly vintage all at the same time. You are one of those rare girls that pretty much looks great in anything!

The green dress: the skirt was an entirely different color than the top, which did not match the picture and made it look bad in my opinion 🤷🏻♀️

Start with the bottom and then do the top
Then it was not free unless you believe the fabric, trim, ect. did not cost anything and you do not value how much time your mother put into cutting out, fitting, and sewing your dress...better to say my mother gifted me a dress and I am unsure how much it cost her to make it.

Momma no doubt spent a lot of money on the fabric, because even if daughter was tiny, on a prom dress you usually need at least 5 yards to do a decent job, MORE if dress had tulle. But it's super-awesome that her mom made her dress. Someone's mom REALLY LOVES HER! That is not easy and takes a bunch of time!

I think that is true, and the confidence is o plus, because I used a cheap dress(comparing to the ones of my classmates) to my prom and all the people tell me that was a cool dress and was pretty (they don't knew were I get it) but i like that it fit me right(my size is so small that is complicated find a dress) even if don't was that expensive
Very true. Ill see people post a reality vs expectation and most of the time the dress they got looks like the one in the ad. They just don't have the same body shape of the model wearing it which is why it didn't look the same.

The second dress would be pretty if it was all the same shade of green. The top being a cool tone green and the bottom being a warm tone green is making it clash with itself a bit.
I didn't like that green dress at all. The bodice looked VERY cheap, and it wasn't flattering.

The green dress looks nothing like the picture. The hue is totally different, since it lacks the hint of blue (probably they photoshopped the picture, though) and it has at least one layer missing in the skirt.

The colors don't match and that's what bothers me lol. The fabric underneath the tulle actually matches the top piece.

You could make most of those dresses look more expensive by adding another layer to the skirt, if you have a bit of sewing experience of course.

I love the style of the green dress, unfortunately the skirt part was a different shade of green than the top. It had a lot of potential though, emerald green is such a classy and pretty colour that looks good on every skin tone and hair colour.

The first dress should've had a black under layer, the green dress should've had a skirt that matched the color of the top, the third dress does look cheap like you said, the last one was actually the best one.

I actually bought the first dress, (the top part had straps tho). It was perfectly fitted to me at the time and it was absolutely loved at my prom!

I'm loving that black off shoulder dress! Personally I would rip out the itchy fabric and replace it with something more comfortable but still keeping to the design. I think I might head on over to the website lol

I would replace it with regular mesh or sew in a mesh tank top if that's easier. Instead of the jewels just wear a big necklace.

Aspen Kelly try Grace Karin...they sell a lot of bridesmaid dresses and formal wear for women who aren't teenagers. The site is reputable and we've had a few of their dresses. I think they're also sold on Amazon in the US.

pinkfuzzycow the prices arnt sky rocketing. It looks like she accidentally changed the currency. C$ is currency in Nicaragua so its actually very cheap. $1 here is c$30 there.
She's Canadian, so when she says dollars, she means Canadian dollars (it's also in Canadian dollars when she shows it on screen: $C). I just think she got it when it was on sale. If you look at the ads she inserts, you can see various "sale ends on (whatever date)" on them. I assume when she ordered them, there was a better sale going on.
So both Nicaragua and canada have C$ before there dollars. Okay.. Weird

I think the red dress is like 98.99999% for you. Great colour for your skin tone (along with the green), and the mesh is nice I think. Might need just a little cinch in the back, and knee to create that complete mermaid/hourglass look...depending on what they were going for with the design.

Skirt colour was a huge miss compared to bodice. Otherwise it's a great dress.
100% agree, however if you absolute love the dress and are okay with a silk skirt instead of tulle, you can cut the tulle off and the silk skirt underneath is the same emerald color as the bodice :)

I went to prom about 3 years ago, and my dress looked very similar to the last one! It was a halter and had the gold detailing at the bottom too, but it was the same design and color. (Although it was way more expensive lol) At the time I had never seen anything like it before, but I’m so glad everyone is realizing just how beautiful it really is!
