Full power Pepe is definitely the strongest deck of all time, hands down.
Full Power Nekroz, Spellbook, Synchro Infernity and soon True King Yang Zing are better (True King Yang Zing starts with naturia beast and VFD practically always) But yes, Pepe was one of the best decks.

PePe vs Dimensional Barrier would be the right title. Zudiacs are a joke compared to PePe. They can only stand a chance if they open with Barrier.

D Barrier is broken but other cards like ptolemaeus, lavalval chain or shock master are "OK" If you lose all your games against Zoodiac dont como here to cry, that deck have combos with lot of plus 1s and their consistency is amazing. Is not only a D Barrier. In terms of broken cards what is more broken, one that (if you draw it) dont allow your opponent to use pendulums or one that dont allow you to use what i prefer, spell monster or traps and is awaiting to be summoned in my extra?
@ADDPkCo, trap cards and extra deck monsters are two different things entirely. traps being drawable says nothing about the engine of a deck, whereas the consistency and the number of extra deck summons from the spamming capability of an engine says much more about the power and consistency of a deck.
Its only about summon 3 level 4 monster, the other is about draw 3 cards in a deck of 40, that needs to go in a more or less plus 5 or 6 in first turn. Summon three level 4 monsters its not an epic fact that only the bests combo decks can do. Armageddon knight, send shaddoll dragon, instant on norden, you have your shock master... amazing combo, satellar combo level...
Will forever love pepe. As much as people hated it I loved the absolute power it had. Of course for game balance it needed x hits but man I love the deck. It's so fun.

not a chance, if we were playing tcg performapal zoo would have to fight though a bunch of hand traps. the reason why performapal is so good is they can defend themselves so well with plushfire and juggler. its really hard to kill through those cards. zoodiac doesnt have the pendulum mechanic so they cant just summon a while board for free every turn. that is the key difference between their engines and the reason that performapal has the best engine of all time.

ADDPkCo That's a false equivalence because those ED monsters are a direct part of the Pepe engine and can be consistently used. D-barrier and Maxx C aren't part of the engine of Zoodiacs. Having access to them is pure luck. Pepe having access or the ability to summon Infinity
Is pure luck... but you are going plus 1s and draw cards with giantrainer to draw THOSE cards, like rulers with rejuvenation and hand traps, so, yes there is an engine because you combo with one card and you can go plus one to draw all the control cards you need, basically is the strategy of the pure build, i dont understand why you cry. Shock Master and Ptolemaeus are older than pepe in the game, pepe only abuse that cards, and that cards make the difference, cards that zoodiac can play in turn one too. Both situations are not an engine.
One of Zoos biggest advantages is that you only need about 15 Zoodiac Cards for your Combos. So you cab fill the rest with backrow and Handtraps.
ADDPkCo Pepe is still better cause Zoo might draw and hope for d barrier and maxx c however they are not guaranteed to get any of those cards. Pepe are guaranteed to build an unbreakable board turn 1 tho.

Because I don't see any good cards that just say "Your scales are unaffected by card effects" or anything along those lines. Unless you play some shite like Starlight Road or you have an archetype specific card like Sky Iris or Pendulum Call (which only one pendulum archetype out of many can use).

Nah there's no tier 0 Deck like PePe. I dont have to mention the emergency banlist that hasn't been executed since 5Ds, but the deck not only had everything you need, but you had an 90% chance of executing the same board or better under any circumstances, save vanities emptiness or maxx c.
I mean like it came at the ABSOLUTE worst/best timing. Right after Nekroz was laid to rest and B.A was losing credibility. We get a deck that can pump CD Infinity in 2 cards, can remove itself from any situation that doesnt restrict special summoning or effects, it was beyond consistent (Literally near impossible to brick. And if it did brick, you only needed one card to unbrick), It made problem boards before we even considered Kaiju, before ghost ogre and before we had cards like toadally awesome preventing scales and wavering eyes from going off. It came at the most ripe conditions. And I'd argue if the deck was back to where it was, it'd be even more devastating now. Given the new support cards and Zoodiac. OMG Zoodiac Pepe? Yeah no Lets be real, we're all kinda glad the deck got hit.
MLK day today in the states, recognized as a holiday by most, however not by my firm, was prepared for a shitty monday .. until i saw this on my subscription feed, was like yaaaass .. two of the best decks ever going at it, can't get any better than this .. thanks Lith, congrats on 32,000 .. keep up the amazing work!

Zoodiac is probably the weakest tier 0 deck in history. It's name pales in comparison to the likes of Drulers, Spell Books, Nekorz, and especially PePe

Sort of. I think that full power Nekroz are at Zoodiac level too. Zoodiacs can destroy Nekroz if they go first and draw D-Barrier.
UtopiaSutcliff so what really broken is the D-Barrier not Zoodiacs. But yeah, against PePe, Nekroz doesn't have too much chance. But i also think that the Full Power Nekroz would still beat the old Full Powered Dragon Rulers.
Dragon Rulers are interesting for a Tier 0 deck because they're more an engine than an actual deck. Depending on what you're playing against, you'd have to build the deck differently. For example, the full power Dragon Ruler deck would get completely destroyed by Kozmos but a Dragon Ruler deck would easily beat Kozmos if it was built around the fact that there were now untargetabled 4000 ATK monsters in the game.

Yo, Lithium. The better Zodiac decks will chose to side Bearman for when they are guaranteed to go first instead of running it in the main deck, because the card is completely dead going second and is almost impossible to pull off if you opponent opens with even 1 disruptive card.

Damn going back and watching this video is funny. I feel like with current knowledge of the full fusion sub combo and a better zoo build this would have been a lot more competitive.

I'd be curious to see pepe vs some other zoodiac variants like the newer true king hybrids, which just got the top two spots at the taiwan winter qualifiers if I'm not mistaken. the only difference between the two top lists was the first place build used a break sword over a second emeral, and possibly their side decks.

Great content again! Cant say I'm surprised by the results, there is literally nothing except for D-barrier that Zoodiacs can do against pepe.
Quesiton: at 4:24 you go for the synchro play here. Why not go for Exciton Knight again? He had no way of stopping it blowing up his field and you had a monkeyboard and a solemn in hand to make a decent recovery play to back it up. Wouldnt it have been the better option?
This duel seems like fun. I like it when both players can do crazy shit together. They are both very powerful decks and usually just lose to each other because of staples cards. I hope to see more amazing duela like this in the futures!

well, i think that maxx c and dimensional barrier played more against pepe than zoodiac ^^ give any other good deck maxx c and dimensional barrier and maybe it would have ended worse for pepe, of course, these staples makes the zoodiac deck good, but just the zoodiac part isn't nearly as good as pepe, just think of qliphort or shaddoll with 3 dimensional barrier and 2 maxx c, it would be just crazy
Nah, give credit where credit is due, the truth is Zoodiac could dig for a lot cards even without playing cards like Pot of Desires, as was common in the first incarnations of the deck, most decks would struggle to draw the necessary defenses turn 1.

This is even funnier than the Dragon Ruler Duel. The only way Zodiac won was by opening Barrier AND a Maxx C so they don't get OTKd and get just about enough cards to OTK themselves.

This would have taken a different turn, if Zoos would have played more handtraps.

Well Pepe was a thing. The earlier comment about it being PePe vs Dimensional Barrier is more or less true (although Maxx C and the Kaijus put in some work)
Should go for Dinoster first turn with board wipes so prevalent with Zoodiacs. Also Maxx "C" instead of Veiler. Full power PePe blows everything out for me; with Rulers and Spellbook Judgment close 2nd/3rd. Zoodiacs are great but on level of Nekroz.
HLRKingScorp spellbooks might beat PePe if they go first. Jowgen lock too strong without feather duster/twin twisters its over.

Same main deck but without Shockmaster. Exciton Knight nor Chain's shenanigans it's a different story imo.
Didn't make a difference but the Ariadne version is less Maxx c weak, and more control oriented. You should have used that.

These two are by far the best decks that this game ever had. Dragon Rulers, Nekroz, Infernity are nothing compared to them.
let's be honest here, the only reason zoodiacs could keep up is the kaijus and dimensional barrier. A direct comparison between the engines is obviously in favor of performapals over zoodiacs.

Yugi Dragon because the shock master is lingering and the Infinity will actively hinder his play. Plus the Shock Master is weaker. He didn't want to deal with the Infinity negation and Shock Master already was in effect so he couldn't do anything about it that turn

You should try pepe TCG vs zoodiac beasts TCG. That shock master has won alone, but in TCG was banned, no one has played pepe + shockmaster in TCG.
Or this match was without banlist? (I don't understand very well english speech), because you could use Azzathoth. Outer Entity Azzathoth + shockmaster is gg, but in ocg Ptolemaues was banned, and no one has ever played with this broken combo.
If it wasn't Shockmaster it could have easily been something like Rafflesia + Nat Beast, but really this list is an OCG list and Shock was only banned early 2016 when EmEM themselves died so the card that should not be there imo is Ptolemaeus, since EmEM only had it for a few weeks before it got banned.
+Rakkis157 i remember that ptolemaeus was banned in ocg when there was emem, but if isn't banned, why lithium doesn't use it? Rafflesia and naturia are shits if are compared to azzathoth... With rafflesia you must play an (noob) hole, and naturia is difficilt to summon, azzathoth and shockmaster is summoned with only 5 rank 4, and your opponent can't activate effect of monsters and spells (or traps)... lol
Signor Augusto Naturia Beast is easy enough with Glow-Up Bulb. Just make Chain. Ptol into Azzathoth got dealt with by the banlist almost immediately. Lithium is running it because he apparently took a decklist from 2015, which should be in September when Ptol was still legal.
Idk if it was a list from early September (before Azzathoth release) or late September. Probably the former.

Hmm. Personally this matchup really ONLY depends on 2 things in my opinion. 1.) Who goes first. 2.) Do Zoodiacs open/draw into Dimensional Barrier on the first turn. Without Dimensional Barrier Zoodiacs are honestly a joke vs Pepe. The most they can do is stall out their inevitable death.

Well full power PePe would have probably use none of them. But they could have used Dulist Alliaance(the card).

Drancia first turn isn't tier 0 for me. It's a easy during either players turn pop, and a free rank 4 if using triangle or speedroid, yes, but still isn't as good at recovery.

Ptolymaeus was banned 3 weeks before Breakers of Shadow came out in OCG. You can play it however you want, but it doesn't seem right to see MonkeyBoard, Strike, Shockmaster and Ptolymaeus in the same deck with the time-era issue.

Traps are bad? Both builds were great and Pepe with Shockmaster, Infinity and 2 set is very hard to break

barrier is a wincodition, but strike is not good in full power pepe since you win going first anyway. And kaijus are not a good version of zoodiac, invoked is by far better
