Bought one around '86 at a garage sale. Cleaned it up a bit and had a total blast. Loved the fact it broke down fast with pins so it fit in the trunk easy. Took it all kinds of places and let the kids beat on it. It was plenty fast enough for them and they could pull a sled. We got a few years out of it. Absolutely no complaints and would recommend at least trying one if you can. Easy fun.
Reminds me of the wet bikes that came out in the late 70s and early 80s, a cross between a motorcycle and a jet ski. They were made by Arctic Cat, Suzuki, Kawasaki, Sea-Doo, and Yamaha. They never really caught on like this little snow bike. I bet if all of these were reintroduced today, they might just sell the hell out of them.
Oh man does that ever look fun!! Wish the video would have shown the drivetrain on it up closer and better detail. But still I’d buy one if it was available lol
If they would reproduce this today with the new battery technology it would sell like hot cakes. Just think, no gas, no oil, no smoke, no noise and no pull starts just quiet cruising through a winter wonderland. In the suburbs I don't think people would mind a battery powered Sno Runner because it would be silent and not disturbing the peace and tranquility of neighborhoods. Thanks for taking the time to video and upload this!
Batteries and cold don't mix lol your run time would drop down so much with the freezing Temps and pointless what's charging your battery more than likely a coal or nuclear power plant gas is much more efficient and last a lifetime if that thing was battery couple years and done
Add a runner to the bottom of the front ski to make it far more managable on harder surfaces, similar to snowmobile skis have. Doesn't need much just enough to grab .
Seems like it operates well enough in 1-3" of snow but bogs down the deeper it gets and slips/slids quite a bit (as you would expect) on packed or icey surfaces.
The one problem with these is there are no "wheels" for the gyroscopic effect, like with a motorcycle, so you have to balance it without that. But it can be done! 😄
I’m in New Mexico and uhhh-yeah. Looks nifty till you hit a cholla or prickly pear or mesquite in the occasional dusting of snow. Yucca would be vicious!
I've been on one. in 79 or so. Family a had small town Chrysler dealership at the time. I remember a twin tracked two seat side by side too. Anyone know what those were?
Keep in mind that this is 50 years old lol it's Kool as shit in 2023 imagine how awesome that was in the 70s 😂 I love gas engines so don't misconstrued this but it needs an electric motor, sine wave controller with a giant 60v battery and a wider rear track. I'd keep this original and build a separate modern one.
If I remember correctly, Chrysler made these things so people could get to work after cars break down in the middle if winter on the side of the road...
If someone had the gumption to design easily convertible track and ski mod on those electric scooters that are everywhere...... I'm from ND they all over my town. Make them profitable all year round and provide a lil excitement and transportation after having a beer or two at the bar. I don't promote drinking and snow scooting but i'm not a pussy either. this amazing Snow Rabbit or the DTV Shredder are the closest things I have found to this fantasy winter scoot but the Shredder is 6K and lil or alot more aggressive for the shenanigans i have in mind and I did not know these exist until moments ago and now desperately want one
Of course, we have the save the planet viewpoint of what if it was electric, which I agree with add swappable batteries like today's yard equipment, hell yeah. But C'mon a Yamaha YZ125 Sno Cheetah, Let's Go!!!
so what's your point... so are skateboards but there are many older people on them. I've seen videos of Big Wheel races down hill...yeah I'm talking about those plastic little kid tricycles. I am 67 and still ride/race dirtbikes. You want to sit in front of a tv all day go for it...

Thanks for showing it. never heard of it before. looks like it goes pretty good and it's in very good condition.
Thank you for taking and posting this video on this most interesting and rare machine.
I still have the one I has as a kid 37 years ago.
Just bought a new track - going to get it running next winter.
Thanks for the video.
tracks are still available?
Were did you get the track
Is it running?
This is the kind of ingenuity that made America great.
I want one!!! This is awesome my kids would love this
Sweet
Edit: love the little two stroke that thing moves!
That thing looks like a blast, It's like a lime scooter.. but for snow. Would love to play around with one of those.
Holy moly that is awesome. I need to find one for my cottage

the guy north of us had one at his cabin fantastic memories of northern Michigan
Wow i was born in 84 never herd of one. Has to be fun!!
i remember 1 in every 10 of my friends either dien or getting a monthly check after playing on these. i miss the good days
Lol. Nice little grocery getter!! 💪🇺🇸💯
Really cool ! Works better than I thought it would 😁
I like the quick connect on the fuel line!
where the hell did you find something like that
Used to ride one in VT. We jokingly called it the snowped. It was a blast though, even as an adult.
I never knew these existed. If i still lived in colorado I would be searching for one right now
Oh man does that ever look fun!! Wish the video would have shown the drivetrain on it up closer and better detail. But still I’d buy one if it was available lol

Anthony NJ totally agree. My Grampa has two of these not running. I want to fix them up so bad
Yep, the only reason they didnt sell then was that altitude killed them.
Batteries don't do well under load in cold weather.
a single liter of gasoline is the equivalent of 9kWh.
electric is garbage.
Batteries and cold don't mix lol your run time would drop down so much with the freezing Temps and pointless what's charging your battery more than likely a coal or nuclear power plant gas is much more efficient and last a lifetime if that thing was battery couple years and done
So cool love to have one pretty fast for such a little thing
Looks fun like a three-wheeler . Your good till your not
haha that thing is crazy, love it
I used to have one of these in the 80's
I think im in love! 😍
looks like pure fun
looks like a fun machine. It's like a snow motorcycle.
Likely one of the best products Chrysler ever made 🤣
That thing is awesome 👏
i had one when I was 10. At 10 it seemed way faster. LOL
Way 😎😎😎😎😎 . Neat old bike.
Dat thing is cool as hell I want one
Gremliney? Sounds like someone I know as Cal?
@@lucasknight8309 maybe 🤔
@@Mac181 dat shat rat. Lik Mik Jims and Herm Digidy?
You need a carbide slip on for the front and ice picks for the track and you could be the next c90 adventures.
Who’s dropping the 1st LS in it?
I had one long ago. If you are over 150 lbs it doesn't go well.
Really cool units though.
People weren't nearly as obese in 1970 as they are now.
@@morrismonet3554 True ..

Maybe 2 ski's instead of one would work better. . .and a wider track 🤔 🤣😂
@@Bitterstone3849 That's called a snowmobile. 🙂
Wow, just WOW.
I mean that was the joke, it shouldn't need explaining.

yes! I had one years ago. Gutless, temperamental, and handled like complete shit! .... kind of miss it though ;
Looks fun, but that front steering skid could use some grip to make it turn.
Remember seeing the ads for these back then. I always wondered who would buy it? Now I know!
Pretty sweet
Thats pretty slick! Never seen one before.
Of course living in Texas probably has a lot to do with it.
I’m in New Mexico and uhhh-yeah. Looks nifty till you hit a cholla or prickly pear or mesquite in the occasional dusting of snow. Yucca would be vicious!
Made specifically for Southern kids in higher elevations 😄 caution ⚠️ bogs down in snow deeper than 2 inches
I have one of those that I got from my uncle. But it needs a few parts
Yup starts like a Chrysler and quits like one ...lmao 🤣
I'd like to see a 2020 version with suspension.
I wish I could have seen what was happening at the back end of the bike, I presume it is powered by some sort of track 2 or 3 feet long.
Needs a snowboard size ski in the front. Not sure why those aren't sold now. If they are, I want three!
Now I gotta find one lol
Cool! Does it have a carbide on the ski? May want to look into it for ice.
I have two of those were can you get parts
I've been on one. in 79 or so. Family a had small town Chrysler dealership at the time. I remember a twin tracked two seat side by side too. Anyone know what those were?
the twin track was a Raider i believe.

I’m wondering if it has a brake?
Hey 2545, do you know what trespassing is
So cool
If I remember correctly, Chrysler made these things so people could get to work after cars break down in the middle if winter on the side of the road...
super cool! But needs a better front ski like one from a snowmobile that has carbides to hold direction on ice
Did they make a hemi version?
You need a piece of round bar on the ski as a scab.
Wow. Why did these die out.. they look awesome.. Fast little ripper!
Every now and then, you'll see one on Craigslist.
Hope you have permission to trespass at Saint Sava 2545.

Two of these for sale on Facebook Marketplace in Happy Valley , OR
What a legend
Too much fun for you plebes.
You xan onky have $10k quads or $15k snowmobiles for winter fun
Bet that really confuses "trackers" !
Wow...
I want one
I need parts for my rabbit
so sick! fella not far from me wants 1250 for one, running. i aint payin that but i wish i were
Looks like fun! 😊
I would like to buy one like it but brand new. Somebody should start manufacturing them, I think they would sell big time 🇺🇸
It rips!
This thing looks friggin sweet
Of course, we have the save the planet viewpoint of what if it was electric, which I agree with add swappable batteries like today's yard equipment, hell yeah. But C'mon a Yamaha YZ125 Sno Cheetah, Let's Go!!!
Wild.
Make the tracks wider so have more surface area to ride on.
I wont one but live in Queensland.
Thanks for the video man :-)
Those were built for 10 year old kids
so what's your point... so are skateboards but there are many older people on them. I've seen videos of Big Wheel races down hill...yeah I'm talking about those plastic little kid tricycles. I am 67 and still ride/race dirtbikes. You want to sit in front of a tv all day go for it...
Getting older is mandatory..............Growing up is optional. YEEEEHAAAW!!
I see a big chainsaw motor in its future I had a water toy with a 125 McCullough
Put a Honda CR500engine on it and you can go a little faster ;-) haha
Things cool
I fuckin kind of want one take my money
I wish I had one!
I want it
Класс!!!!!!!!!!!
Unstable at best
Don't lean anyway
Sumone sell me one
No thank you
Be careful riding that on the road that doesn’t look very stable at all
This thing looks dangerous as helll
They do make electric versions of these,
They are awsome!!
prolly run better if gas line wasnt pinched
