Hey, if you're starting this type of roleplay video, you should think about the ASMR roleplay market on TH-cam. It's a big community, and you could bring your own flair to it by combining DnD w/ ASMR.
BOI I play a water Genasi cleric and the number of jokes we make about her using her medical kit... Or any fabric at all. She's also the "big sister" of the party, so hugs, constantly, nobody really escapes

Somehow my bard is the second least squishy character in our party right now (by 2-3 points but still), and honestly, her response to that would be “better me than the rest of my party”

Tieru, my adorable and silly male half-elf bard with 19 Charisma but only 11 Strenght: well, don't tell it to anyone but once I rejected a knight who offered me to be his lover. So he kidnapped me, took me to his castle, and then raped and brutally tortured me. Several times actually, for like two weeks. This is how I've got that scar, and many others too that now you can't see. In fact he was really creative, needles, daggers, whips, hot water, choking, metal that was heated up enough to burn my skin, if I had a pain kink it could be great but that's not the case. Then he got bored of me and threw me in the river with all my stuff while I was fainted because of the suffering, and he thought I have drown. But fortunetly or unfortunetly, I'll let you decide, I survived. The water has put me on the shores of the river and that's where my future party has found me. I told them it was a demonic cult but I don't think they really believe me. I lied to them because I couldn't let them know the shocking truth, especially since they were strangers back then. You are actually the first person who hears this story, I guess I just needed to talk to someone about it. Her: yeah, I bet you tell this story at parties Tieru: excuse me ma'am wtf?! *senseless gibberish in 5 different languages*

I must say, when I'm being patched up by a medical professional, I'd rather hear "I hope we never have to do this again" than Nurse Joy's "We hope to see you again soon"
I remember seeing this little story someone wrote from her perspective, and what she means is a bit different. She's seen so many trainers come back hurt, and far too many never come back at all. So what she really means is "I hope to see you *alive* again." She can stitch up an injury, but she can't do much for you when your arcanine drags you back from a particularly bad Mount Silver trip.

@@Merrsharr No one's responded, so I'll explain. In 5e, tiny hut creates an impenetrable dome with a controlled atmosphere. It's up for debate on whether or not it creates a floor, so that's DM's discretion, but it's like a one way mirror, where the people in it can see out, but other cannot see in. Designated people can pass in and out of it at any time after it's been cast. Lasts the length of a long rest.
You should totally do more videos like this! This is going to help me so much with my roleplaying, as I'm in 5 campaigns and still find myself not bringing my characters to the table. Thanks Ginny you're the best!

How do I have her tell the party what to do without her having to yell and her emotions just go out of control, I've had to keep her quiet because I can't figure it out.

me as my lvl 3High elf Wild Magic Barbarian: no. Gronk Strong. arrow fine. Me as my lvl 6 human Paladin of a fire dragon god, in a party of a cleric, a witch, a sorceress, and a fighter who isn't currently with us: that's not really in the cards. Shagroth has blessed me with incredible fortitude, i regularly take hits that could kill my friends. i will continue to do so.
I think this would also make a good exercise for getting into character interactions. Many players create a full and complete character with plenty of background and motivations. They could describe that character very well, but when they get to the table their interactions with the other PCs stumble. The difference between planning and being able to improv but be their character. A good improv exercise for rpg gaming.
Agreed, its one thing to have a fully written character background, its another matter entirely to get immersed into it. Exercises like this helps bridge that divide.
This was great my characters mother is litteraly a half-elf apothecary and he hasn't gotten to spend much time with her so it was like a weird catharsis

Oh my gosh thank you, I'm really happy to hear that!! I actually filmed the whole thing in segments and thought... this would just flow so much better if I could do it in one take. So I spent a few more hours working on it and I definitely feel like doing it that many times really helped make it feel natural!

I couldn't help but answer as my current favorite character, Rixildimar Vox. Though I was forced to pause the video a few times because... answering as a bard has more levels of explanation to simple questions than is healthy. Oddly the question about who you would trust to take the stitches out made me rethink a thing or two about my current party. Quite enjoyable and thought provoking.

@WolfGirl She couldn't stop giggling most of the night, she seemed to have an absolute blast even though we were introduced to Phase Spiders, a Corpse Flower, and the undead in combat for the first time (her character was introduced as one of the characters saved from being eaten). I do really think this video helped her step into character a little better 😊

I would love to see more stuff like this, and to be real honest I'm very surprised that this is the first time I've seen this combination, as it works really well! Tieru, my adorable and silly male half-elf bard with 19 Charisma but only 11 Strenght: well, don't tell it to anyone but once I rejected a knight who offered me to be his lover. So he kidnapped me, took me to his castle, and then raped and brutally tortured me. Several times actually, for like two weeks. This is how I've got that scar, and many others too that now you can't see. In fact he was really creative, needles, daggers, whips, hot water, choking, metal that was heated up enough to burn my skin, if I had a pain kink it could be great but that's not the case. Then he got bored of me and threw me in the river with all my stuff while I was fainted because of the suffering, and he thought I have drown. But fortunetly or unfortunetly, I'll let you decide, I survived. The water has put me on the shores of the river and that's where my future party has found me. I told them it was a demonic cult but I don't think they really believe me. I lied to them because I couldn't let them know the shocking truth, especially since they were strangers back then. You are actually the first person who hears this story, I guess I just needed to talk to someone about it.

tbf Pokemon Centers are supposed to be Inns as well, and you can see in the anime that travelling trainers sleep in them.
I remember seeing this little story someone wrote from her perspective, and what she means is a bit different. She's seen so many trainers come back hurt, and far too many never come back at all. So what she really means is "I hope to see you *alive* again." She can stitch up an injury, but she can't do much for you when your arcanine drags you back from a particularly bad Mount Silver trip.
Lol, such a good point, I always felt like that was a sketchy thing for Nurse Joy to say, even if she didn't mean it like that!

@@Merrsharr No one's responded, so I'll explain. In 5e, tiny hut creates an impenetrable dome with a controlled atmosphere. It's up for debate on whether or not it creates a floor, so that's DM's discretion, but it's like a one way mirror, where the people in it can see out, but other cannot see in. Designated people can pass in and out of it at any time after it's been cast. Lasts the length of a long rest.

I think this would also make a good exercise for getting into character interactions. Many players create a full and complete character with plenty of background and motivations. They could describe that character very well, but when they get to the table their interactions with the other PCs stumble. The difference between planning and being able to improv but be their character. A good improv exercise for rpg gaming.
Agreed, its one thing to have a fully written character background, its another matter entirely to get immersed into it. Exercises like this helps bridge that divide.

Oh my gosh thank you, I'm really happy to hear that!! I actually filmed the whole thing in segments and thought... this would just flow so much better if I could do it in one take. So I spent a few more hours working on it and I definitely feel like doing it that many times really helped make it feel natural!

Though I was forced to pause the video a few times because... answering as a bard has more levels of explanation to simple questions than is healthy. @WolfGirl She couldn't stop giggling most of the night, she seemed to have an absolute blast even though we were introduced to Phase Spiders, a Corpse Flower, and the undead in combat for the first time (her character was introduced as one of the characters saved from being eaten). I do really think this video helped her step into character a little better 😊

I was answering the questions as my latest character, Shafeed, who is a defensive fighter with warlock levels. I found her becoming less reticent as it went on, although some of that stuff HURT! Thanks for patching her up. Our cleric is often off about her own affairs.

Ginny, this wasn't cool.. This was AWESOME! It's a combination of an almost asmr-like roleplay and D&D character questions, which are two of my favorite things. I would love to see more stuff like this, and to be real honest I'm very surprised that this is the first time I've seen this combination, as it works really well! Loved the video, keep making great things!
