- Welcome to my Intro to Adobe Illustrator tutorial!!! If you've wanted to get into graphic design but didn't know where to start - start here :) I teach you how to make 3 posters and explore the fundamentals of graphic design through shape, type, and color! I highly encourage you guys to follow along and make them yourself! I might just be slow, everyone is saying how easy it is to follow and here I am rewinding every 5 minutes
I've found that the easiest way to make an arch is to make a rectangle, select only the two corners you want rounded with the direct selection tool, (clicking on the circles with a little dot in the middle, not the anchor points themselves) with shift+click, and after they're selected, you drag the circles to the very middle, until both become a single red circle. Boom, perfect arch, one of my favorite shapes.

I never comment on YT vids, but I had to join in and say how how helpful this tutorial was. I feel like the most you find when you're searching tutorials is how to use a specific tool, rather than taking you step by step through a simple project. The only question I have after watching is about where you get your fonts from. Are your favorite fonts ones that you've purchased from foundries? Or do peruse in the world of free fonts?

Hi ! im having trouble adding more ridges to my star using the arrow key (i think because i have a 60% keyboard) - it just keeps nudging the entire star up or down when i hold shift and try it. is there a way in the menu somewhere i can manually add and subtract ridges ?

Hi!, I stumbled upon this tutorial and I really love it. It's so easy to follow, and like you, I also learn by creating something along, but I'm having a hard time doing the "crazy what you can do with words", I tried so many times to flip the word but I can't do it. I can't locate the points and the line that is used as an anchor to flip the word, it doesn't show on my screen, every time I click it the only thing that shows up are the anchors on the borders that resize the word. Is this just me? Help, please. Thank you! :)

hi! I have personally never used inkscape or many alternative apps so I can't speak on that too much but Figma is free if you want to try that out!

I've never used affinity but I've heard great things!! Figma is a free program but doesn't have the same set of capabilities as it's more product-design focused

This is not beginniner friendly. You’re going at a rapid pace and using shortcuts without showing us the alternative method at times.
