- It would make sense that one of metal's most fearsome guitarists is also a fan of things that inspire fear. Kirk Hammett, best known as the lead guitarist of Metallica, has been obsessed with horror movie memorabilia since childhood. He owns one of the biggest collections in the world and it's on display now at the Royal Ontario Museum. cbc.ca/1.5223492

Kirk always seems so proud of anything he does that’s why he such a great man
He's so unbelievably cute and such a great person
Whoever met him at meet and greet said he is humble and nice to talk to

@@thequintessential5503 Man makeup really. Just look up some video with girl before and after makeup. Once you know the difference you watch then closely and you will find out that every dude who is on TV or something more than a home movie wears makeup. Definitely if he is often exposed to cameras.

Kirk Hammett is just so damn cool. He is not only one of the best metal guitar players ever (in my opinion), a huge horror nerd (mad respect for that), but also in interviews and behind the scenes stuff he seems so soft spoken and humble (more down to earth than other larger than life metal gods).
I feel like at the very end when he was talking about the poster he couldn't get, he was about to tear up.. He's such a genuine sweet man.
It's inspiring to see that no matter how successful someone is they still love what they love, you either like this stuff or you don't and it feels great to know the guitarist from one of the most popular bands of all time is a fan just like me.

Kirk is an inspirational man to many in lots of different ways. The moment I saw this video was uploaded I got such a feeling of joy. I knew I was in for a treat and boy was I. I watched this 17 minute video when it felt like 2 minutes!

So glad the nuns didn’t physically and/or mentally abuse Kirk for reading that magazine. Also good for his mom for not punishing him. Kirk is such a nice guy. He’s prob the nicest guy in metal.
As a huge Metallica fan and a huge horror movie fan I just love this guy! I could listen to Kirk talk about movies all day long. I have a vague recollection of watching day of the triffids with my dad when I was very little! Like Kirk I grew up watching those old movies too. Love it!

This man interviewing Kirk is actually a very good. Doing a good interview is a very real skill and this guy is quite good. He let's the guest do most of the talking and let's that person reveal himself. But does in fact steer the interview in such a way that the guest feels comfortable. You can tell Kirk is very comfortable and is enjoying this conversation. Credit to to interviewer.
This interviewer knew just how to get Kirk in his comfort zone which, Relaxed him so he could speak about his passion.
Kirk's worth $200 million, so he can collect whatever he wants. Lucky guy!
Alot of people were mad that he paid $20 million dollars for Peter Greens Les Paul. They said he didn't deserve it. One of the most successful bands, and says you don't have the right to it.

If I could hang with one musician in Rock for a day, it would definitely be Kirk Hammett. Along with being a guitarist I have an obsession with the Classic Horror movies & have a toy collection. Of course my collection doesn't compare anything like Kirk's. In the mid 80s there was in magazine called Metal Edge (best magazine for rock & metal back in the day) & there's a pic of Kirk sitting on the floor with all these rare comics & vintage toys. If you haven't already, you should pick up Kirk's book, Too Much Horror Business. A MUST have if you love classic Horror films.
Finally a new interview they havent done many interviews lately
I found this to be 10 times more interesting than the q interview with Lars. Kirk is obviously passionate and studied with regard to his hobby.
I’m a serious Metallica fan and by pure coincidence, a huge horror fan, especially the 30’s and 40’s. When he’s talking MURDERS IN THE RUE MORGUE, I know exactly what he means, and it ain’t a Maiden song he’s referring to. Awesome movie. Kirk and I would get along.

Living up here east of Toronto Ontario Canada in close proximity to the ROM we have had the pleasure of seeing a d hearing so much more from Kirk and it's quite an eye opener tbh! He's a metal God master guitar player and he has just ordinary people interests and view points,only has insane resources to take it to the next level!and this makes that likeable character of the band even more likeable! Love this guy! Enjoying the access to his cool pastime!

Started watching this as I love classic horror. Then I see he's playing my guitar of choice, modern player tele in charcoal black with pine body.
Back in the early 70’s my dad bought an 8mm projector/no sound. It came with 5 black and white movies. A western, a Charlie Chaplin, vampire, mummy, and werewolf. I loved the horror movies.
Buffy the vampire slayer was my introduction to the horror genre, I was about maybe 9 or 10 at the time when I became obsessed with the show and the horror genre in general

Lars and James hog all the limelight in Metallica, so it's nice to see Kirk getting some of it. Just goes to show, I never knew he was even into horror films. Probably becasue he doesn't get interviewed much.

I obviously don't personally know him but he looks pretty friendly, honest and above all, quiet passionate. Not a great technician as a guitar player nor a good composer but we have to be respectful for his career.
