You should install that thing in the top of the car. As installing it inside can affect its singal strength in more remote areas. That's what the antenas are for.
This video could have been a single sentence: "Connect a mobile phone battery bank to the 12V lighter socket, connect the battery bank to a wifi hotspot to power it - voila" ...
Why not the vehicles OBD-II port? It opens up functionality for the wireless to also server as a diagnostic reader and correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't the OBD-II port have 5 or 12V running through it at all times? Some diagnostic readers actually run off that 5 or 12V pin in the port, but still a great video also is that Legacy/Outback a Stick or Slushbox?
yeah I believe you can use the OBD-ii port though it is on the driver's side in most cases and some cars have them located in not the most user-friendly position, and it is a legacy (or liberty in Australia) and sadly a slushbox
Omg!! Why !!!! - So basically get yourself a portable wifi device at online or any electronics store and make you have a compatible charger to charge it in your car.
wow thats sad.. i am on t mobile and i pay like 15 bucks per mont with 16gb of data which can double the next month if you dont use it.. free calls to t mobile numbers, 100 minutes free calls to other operator numbers and thats it
My setup is a bit more simple. I have an Aukey CC-Y3, 3 Port USB Car Charger that supports Qualcomm 3.0 & USB-C (US$20 on eBay or AliExpress). This I connect to my 4G WIFI router (same as in this video). Finally this is the most important thing, if anyone wants to access the WIFI (in my case wife and children) I ask them to set their TH-cam app to slow connection or set it to no higher than 360p. Also make sure that when people connect to the WIFI that they select that it is metered connection so your phone or laptop doesn't use your data to update apps or their operating system, finally make sure that apps don't backup photos to Google Photos or the Apple equivalent or backup data to the cloud.
I am not kidding, this is the only video on this subject that actually worked.
His next video: “Make a three minute video in only ten minutes!”

You're making a YT tutorial, not narrating the latest Marvel trailer.
