Hello @FightMeTotalWar I have a problem called rome total war 2 black screen with cursor where when I enter a battle the screen goes black. I would much appreciate any fix for this.
How do you counter defending kush units in siege battles
I recently found out your channel after watching Oversimplified's epic Hannibal videos. I watched most of your videos and, as a Rome II expert (4K hours on Steam), i must say that i highly agree with all points in your videos. Excellent work, keep it up! I intend to cover more Rome II with the best mods in my channel so its really nice to see that this game still has a lively fan base and considered a good game despite its problems.
As a Rome II expert, would you say its possible to attack a settlement with a nomad faction?
Well for me it depends on the situation. Having an only cav army u can't win vs fortified settlements but if the gates are a bit damaged a can sacrifice some units to open them. Also i usually keep some units hidden while i focus on a diversionary attack and i wait until the enemy is fully committed to go behind and open the gates. Then u can rush in with the whole army. This works, for me at least :)

good list , i recently returned to the game after a few years
i stumbled upon your vids by accident , watching mosty old videos from maximus and heir of carthage .
i used to play tournaments in online battles , but never sieges
but i see most of online battles these days are sieges .
overall this is a good tier list for land battles , you can have a lot of fun and creativity with D tier factions -
if you are good you can easily beat rome or barbarian sword spam with many of those factions .
sparta could be very strong too in the right hands .
those nomadic/HA factions i agree they were always pain in the a..s to play against , in hands of the skilled micro player they can be god tier .
nice tier list. It's kinda make me feel bad about Odrysian kingdom because in Rome 1, they actually have mid tier Greek style units to hold the line like hoplite and pikemen and even citizen cavalry (greek cavalry). Had they got these units in Rome 2, they would fair way better in land battle.
Nomads being F tier in land is just silly.

Nomad factions deserve s tiers in land battle, their Horse Archers will easily torn the infantry bit by bit

@@elkingoh4543 Literally this, micro 2-3 groups, flank in a makeshift cantabrian circle so the defenders keep moving, and use heavy shot.
You can relatively easily counter them by bringing archers that out range them and protecting your flanks with spears w/ javelins. Combine that with no infantry support and you have a high risk, high reward play style that can steamroll unprepared armies but falter against more diverse armies
@@benchild1339 Amazonian Archers will outrange Javelins unit, Armoured Horse Archers like Noble and Royal Horse Archers is Strong enough
Really nice upgrade to your old video I play land battles and here are the things I dont fully agree with:
1. Arverni are really strong their only issue is their chose swords are like a couple % worse than the boii ones they are definitely better than the iceni and nervii comparable to galatia
2. Kush its nice that you figured out the disciples spam its insanely strong and you can also use the slave spears which are probably the strongest cheap spear in the game
3. Nabatea can use their cheap axes instead of the hoplites and their medium cav including the camels is insanely strong
4. When it comes to the nomads scythia is just leagues above the other two due to 150 range horse archers and ofc the second best one are those that get the cataphracts roxolani are cute but just pale in comparison to the other two
5. Sueby are not that great imo worse than the gauls the counter to them seems to just be bringing a lot of cav and charge them in the face since their cav is either light or elite nothing in between
6. Getae parthia armenia baktria(this the order from best to worst) are incredibly dependent on how the rules of the battle are because they can be at time straight up broken due to being able to go full horse and alternate it with a normal land battle army and thats just not really counterable so even if you fight the best factions in the game you can easily get a 50% win rate.
A huge thing you should mention is the kind of rules people play with since taking 4 elephant units or chariots it usually not allowed and a lot of the faction balance depends on how many of the same unit you can bring since some factions like rome have many different but very similar strong units while others have just one or two.
True I Should have mentioned the rules, but the chosens are quite a bit worse then boii Galatia and tylis mid tiers

And kush, kush has some of the best archers in the game and it's heavy infantry is insane against other heavy infantry.
Just a really well rounded faction.
Both kush and nabatea are at least A in land, and kush is absolutely s tier in sieges both attack and defense.
Nabatea is a tier for defending in sieges.

Hello there! I just found your channel as I was wondering on yt about rome 2 stuff. Pretty new to the game only got couple hundreds hours on it (solo/campaing) and I'm completely EATING all your videos. I've only played vanilla since, I wanted to ask you what mods do you use or what mods you would recommend in general for any purpose (if there are any) .

Doesn’t the rankings depend on the funds though? What factions I use on large funds would be totally different to ultra.
Very true. The most common funds is large so I assume he is rating them in terms of large funds
Yeah , for example Pontus in ultra would be a really shitty faction if you have only 20 slots
Sparta does have some javvies with their periokoi spears and they arent too bad if u use them well

Macedon biggest strenght on land and even sieges are pikemen. Reugular pikmen, Thorax and Foot Companions are great on land and on sieges can be great if used in columns and stacked one on other.

Parthia and Armenia should be on the same tier as saba for land battles they don’t have the cheap camels or mas gats but they have way better horse archers better missile and both of their infantry aren’t terrible either. The royal cataphracts are way better than any shock cavalry saba has so theirs that too
This is great it's just that if it was me i would put parthia and armenia into the low a tier for land battle. (decent units to hold the line and good cav to win the cav fight and hammer the anvil. and horse archers)

SPARTA F TIER?? NAAAH their defense and morale make them stand in a battle for a longer time. And Royal Spartans are so cheap in comparsion to other elite units. With perks and boosts my damaged army with 1000 soldiers could win battles against 2500 unit factions with huge losses on both sides usually ending with victories.

How??? I mean HOW??? I don't get it. Like, there is no way that Bactria's units fare better in a landbattle than the Seleucids. HOW??? I played it out, looked which hellenistic faction is best against rome and it's the Seleucids. They just got better and stronger units than Bactria.
And Masaesyli? Complete failure against rome. But Victory with the Seleucids.
Masaesyli is actually a raid boss with legionaries and cohorts, plus numedian royal cav with the javlins have similar melee stats to azat knights but are cheaper.
Pergamon and Ardiaei is S+ tear as well the pila is way too braindead to not have them up there
The cav factions you maybe dont like to play against or dont know how to play againt them but if you put them so low Saba,Naba,Parthia and Armenia should be low as well they are bacisly also cav faction but Saba is braindead strong like the cav factions you put in F tear

Dude, do you not use pikes whatsoever? This tierlist is so wrong. Any hellenic faction is S tier for sieges solely because of pikes. if you bring 3 - 4 units of pikes to a siege you can go AFK and forget about it. I'm not sure if you're rating for multiplayer or whatever.... but i really dont understand why you havent brought up pikes at all
It's most likely for multiplayer where most lobbies have a 2 max pike per player. Many people also save ammo for end game and delete the pikes. For campaign they're goated.
He does not play actual sieges he only plays some very limited version with rules that dont allow many pikes or slingers hence why all the claims about javelin hoplite units being strong since they usually dont count as ranged units.

Straight up broken OP you get like 200 cheaper veteran legionaries and all the gallic units like heavy horse and cheap slingers
